Broken facilities on a weekly basis. Steam room and sauna are always broken and overcrowded. No one takes accountability and as a paying member I think it’s a disgrace. If I good give 0 stars I would

Unsafe Environment and Management’s Negligence – I am extremely disappointed with the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) and their manager, [Name Removed], for their failure to address repeated safety concerns in their locker room. Despite lodging multiple complaints about a member who exhibits inappropriate behavior, MSAC management has taken no meaningful action to resolve the issue. … Read more

The individual in question has repeatedly lingered in the locker room for excessive periods, followed me and others while changing to deliberately observe us, and verbally harassed me (completely unprovoked) by calling me “pathetic.” He does not use the facilities appropriately, spending unusual amounts of time in the open showers only to observe others getting naked. This escalating behavior is unacceptable, especially in a space shared with children.

I reported this individual several weeks ago, but my complaint was not taken seriously enough at the time. Steve and the management team failed properly document it and act decisively, which allowed the behavior to escalate unchecked. The situation culminated on November 18, when the individual’s behavior crossed a line, and I felt compelled to file a second complaint.

After learning about my second complaint, the individual retaliated by making a baseless claim that I was using my phone in the locker room, stating that his staring was out of “concern.” This nonsensical excuse was clearly fabricated to deflect attention from his own actions. If he truly believed I was violating policy, why did he choose to stare at me rather than report it to staff? He only made this retaliatory complaint after becoming aware of my second report. Following my first complaint—when he was unaware of it—he made no such accusations.

Despite retrieving evidence of my prior complaint, Steve and MSAC management have refused to take action, citing a lack of proof. This is gross negligence, as the kind of evidence they are demanding is impossible to provide in a locker room environment where CCTV cameras are not permitted. Their decision empowers this individual to continue his harassment, knowing there will be no consequences.

Adding to the frustration, MSAC informed me about their mobile phone policy as though they believed his baseless claims without evidence, yet dismissed my detailed and well-documented complaints for the same reason. This double standard highlights the hypocrisy in their handling of the situation.

MSAC has failed to uphold its duty of care, creating an unsafe and hostile environment for members, including children.

Don't waste your money on membership – I've been an aquatics member on and off at this place over the years and can wholeheartedly recommend against it to others. The pools are frequently made unavailable due to other events and bookings, with no compensation to members who are paying every fortnight for access. Then when the pool is opened, the information put on the website is often… Read more

incorrect, meaning that a pool supposedly available is not, or there are fewer lanes open than as advertised. When is comes to making any complaints, management have effectively put a wall made of front desk staff between them and you. I was literally told by a front desk staff member that management won't speak to the public. When I asked for the feedback to be passed on that management was cowardly and incompetent, the front desk staff said that management was already aware of this. Seriously - if you sign up as a member you're in for a massive let down. At least if you go casually and find the pool is not available you haven't lost any money.

Bad customer experience – These guys shut down their gym for a couple of weeks but won't give out extensions because technically you could still do group fitness classes (something i don't do) avoid these guys if you want someone who actually cares about their customers. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Painful msac – I have been going to msac 3 times a week, and once a week it sucks. Yesterday they only had hot the options of hot water or no water in the showers. No signs... Just burn yourself and see. Today it was 6.32 and they refused me entry to a 6.30 class. Pathetic Sometimes the place is empty Staff attitudes

Ridiculous – They might as well not promote this place as a pool for the general public. Lap lane availability is virtually non-existent after hours as sports clubs take priority. You also have to pay for parking on top of inflated entry prices. Pity, because the outdoor pool is quite nice. Have to find somewhere else.

Excellent – I was a member here for 3 years but sadly had to leave as I moved house. The gym is excellent with easy to use equipment and there is a variety too. The classes are varied and the teachers very professional and motivating. The yoga area was pure bliss! I also liked that you could use the swimming pool, sauna and steam room which was a great… Read more

way to relax after a workout. The cafe was also useful for meeting friends / family before or after a workout. I miss this place and wish there was one near my new house! The facilities and classes are excellent. At busy times it can be hard to find a parking spot.
