7 years and buying again – Bought a second hand refurbished 3kva from micky blue in midland when he had the shop, that was about 6 years ago, was already 2 years old.. paid $1200 from memory. Had an issue first week weeks when it wouldn't start from remote.. took it back he was happy to sort it out... all these years later still running, up until today... so about to call him to buy another... for the price these are I would say good value . And happy to buy another one.
Purchased in for $1,200.
5 years on – What I like about the Mickey Blu generator is that it is reasonably quiet when running. I bought my Mickey Blu 3.5 kVA generator second hand about 5 years ago. Initially I had trouble starting it, but once it started it ran okay, but not as smooth as I would have liked. In my case, the carburettor was the culprit. I am not a mechanic but found the carburettor easy to remove and easy to service. Did both jets by blowing them out with air as well as clean the needle and seat. It now starts easy and runs much smoother. It easily powers my caravan 2kw air con and other appliances such as 2kw coffee machine and 2kw toaster.
Purchased in for $600.
Not happy with this unit – There is no backup for this generator in WA. The owner lives here but has no shop. Have had problems with it from day dot. Fuel leaks which at the time he had a shop in Midland. Then when I had a problem starting it rang him and virtually told me to use it as a boat anchor. After looking at it myself found that there are two more 3.4v batteries that had gone flat. , recharge them and bypassed the the solenoid an all working. Now I can’t get power. He gives 5 year warranty but there is nowhere to get it fixed? Would not recommend
