sold a lemon in a fine brand of kick scooters
Purchased ready-to-go from a cycling store. Full price. No packaging, instructions or hex key. Initially, steering column was a bit loose. I thought it odd as the cycling store is of the serious precision sort. Store owner keen to mention he meets with Micro Scooter rep once a week.Days later the steering column easily lifted off the scooter. Placed the steering column back in its holding slot, adjusted the two steering column nuts to tighten the collar with hex key from previous adult Micro Scooter. Steering became either too responsive or... Read more
stuck until days later the steering column worked its way loose and again easily lifted off the scooter. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat, then next attempt to super tighten holding collar stripped the one of the hex bolts. Yep. I got a lemon of a kick scooter. This is my third Micro Scooter. Previous two were fine. Threads on this lemon steering column and its holding slot obviously do not match no matter how tight the collar is and steering column nuts are. I use a kick scooter for daily commute. No packaging to return this one. No time, either. Probably voided warranty by using for next four months, as is. Just purchased another brand kick scooter from a department store as emergency back-up and it's surprisingly proving itself as a go-to. Lesson learnt? Own two kick scooters if you rely a lot on one.Oh so much fun! I'm cool to 8 year old kids at school
So I can't run as fast as miss 6 can scoot to school. So in the if i can't beat them join them philosophy I joined them. In the words of a gob smacked 8 year old boy "I've never seen a Mum scoot before!" He proceeded to keep up with us the whole way home! You kids would hide if it wasn't cool...wish more parents would join in... fun fun fun

Tip top scooter for adults!
Very pleased with the Micro Bkack scooter, solid scooter with a great ride. Makes keeping up with the kids a breeze. Recommend for any adult trying to keep up with the kids, or for recreating your youthful exuberance!! It's nice and compact too, handy for packing into the car or bag. This is perfect I really hated being parted from it when I got my new back brake fitted
I am an adult and use my scooter to commute to work in Wellington. The scooter is great and its use has saved bus fares, improved my fitness and most of all is great fun. Initially I had difficulty using it on any uphill gradient (my knees and legs protested) but my strength has improved with use of the scooter and I can now use it on moderate slopes such as the slope up to the Mt Victoria tunnel and the gentle slope through the tunnel is easy. I get places in about half the time of walking. I tend to ride my brake on the downhills a bit mo... Read morere than the average child but I am more confident and you can always replace the brake if it does get worn out just like car or bicycle ones. This is another good feature of the scooter each individual bit can be replaced it something breaks or is worn. I got my scooter second hand on trademe so have replaced the brake but I do not expect to do that again for quite a while. The staff at the Micro shop replaced it for me so that also is great service.Never thought it would be so much fun!
Bought the Micro Black for my husband for his birthday (48!) just before Christmas. We've both had a great time riding it with the kids, and they love us riding with them too. Starting to drop hints about getting my own now! Super sturdy, easy to steer and balance, big wheels mean no tipping forward when you hit a crack in the footpath. Just brilliant.I take it on holidays - fits in the suitcase
Go for a ride and to the shops each day - great fun on a downhill slope.- I am 68 so get lots of comments from pedestrians. Have ridden many kms with grandkids - that is the most fun - 2 little rockets alongside!Functional but Faulty
Compared to the solid kingred (Australian designed, and NZ built), this scooter has had 4 design faults in the last year.1) brake bracket broke had to get it TIG welded.
2) handle rubber band plug broke
3) aluminium sliver fold release fell off
4) aluminium bracket that the logo is on, snapped in two places at once. Under the logo, and on the other side.
Have travelled 5K in the last 12 months, have written 60km in one trip in the US.
A high quality product and very practical
Owned it for nearly a year and covered about 600km+. I use it almost daily for the trips on either end of my train commute (about 2km on each leg for a total of 4km each day). Scooting is about twice as fast as walking. This thing is fast and rolls along effortlessly because of the large diameter wheels. Steering is precise and smooth. The fold-up action is quick. It screams quality every which way.
Parts were easy to order and quick to arrive - I came off during a tight corner and lost a "push button" that unlocks the folding mechanism. Will have to order a new wheel soon to replace the rear one from all the braking. 600km is still pretty darn good!
Would definitely buy again and highly recommended.
Scooter Generation
I'm 23 and so from the start of the scooter generation, and have really missed scootering as an adult. So I decided to get this scooter to use around town and for some general scooting fun. I love that you can clearly tell it is an adults scooter by its design as I can feel a bit self-conscious being an adult on a scooter. The ride is so smooth and fast; I actually sometimes can get the speed wobbles going down hill. The brake could be a bit stronger, and on older footpaths it can be a bit bumpy- probably a micro flex would be better for these ... Read morekind of footpaths. But it really is great for a commuter scooter where the footpaths are well looked after. Quality build, can get new wheels and brake if they wear out, fast Brake could be better, expensive (but worth it)Almost halved commute time
I bought the scooter ~1 month ago, use it to cover the 700 odd metres to the nearest train station from home then the 2.5km from the train station closed to my work to my desk.Shortened my commute from 70 min to 40 min.
Folds quickly and neatly for the train and next to my desk.
Comfortably handles a 92kg man plus laptop and gymbag.
Great fun to zoom around pedestrians on.
Perfect solution for me.
Reliable, easy to use and fold, makes commute fun. minimal running costs
Could possibly do with a better brake, needs a bit of distance to stop if going quick.
Great Scooter
I've bought this scooter to get to work and back and it is just a brilliant ride. I've had this scooter since last year around August and it is still an eye catcher when scooting to work or at shops. The wheels glide very smoothly, and the low ride height gives the scooter great traction when u are speeding down the road. The only downside that I find to the scooter is the brakes. For the price tag, the brakes should be improved to something that is slightly more sophisticated. The brakes tend to not only wear out the metal padding, but also th… Read more · 1e wheels, making ride a little risky when braking downhill after heavy usage. Overall, I am very happy with the Scooter. I hope to see more customisable parts in the future (i.e. rubber wheels, grip wheels, etc). Very durable frame, smooth ride, eye catcher Quite costly, limited customisable partsAnother top quality micro scooter
We have owned 6 micro scooters now for our 3 girls. We found them while living in London where my daughters school had a line up of micro scooters in the bike shed. They are great for the kids balance and confidence and make longish walks (to school, shops, and bike paths) a breeze. We have had the mini micro (X 3), maxi micro, and now have the speed+ and the White, which mum and dad can ride as well. Having grown up with skateboards I love the build quality of these scooters. The durability and quality of the components (the wheels and bea... Read more
rings are awesome) are exceptional, they have to be to take the hammering by the kids. If you are in any doubt about spending a few extra dollars to get a micro scooter, just cough up, your kids will love them and they will last for years and years. Great fun. Build quality, design, and great funSo good!
Bought this at the same time I bought my 2 yr old daughter a mini micro. I have to say-it's just so much fun! The build quality is excellent too. Whilst I mainly ride the scooter alongside my daughter when she's on her's, I have on a few occasions taken the scooter out on my own. Whilst I genuinely enjoy the scooting, I am conscious that people look on and think who's that fully grown adult on a child's toy!! I shouldn't be so vain! The other side of this on-looking though, is people (other adults), genuinely look on in envy!! My wife and mothe... Read morer-in-law were both big fans too when they've had a turn! If you've got some spare cash...get one, and if not-sell your tv and get out there! Excellent build, keeps you young Potentially embarrassing, on the pricey side (but still worth it)Exceptional
What a great way to spend time with your kids. Honestly this brings out the kid in you and your children see it. Having a top notch scooter like this only makes the experience so much better. Awesome scooter that not only looks great but rides just as great. Most highly recommended.Quality, the ride, the look
Bit pricey but you pay for what you get....absolute quality
love it
I shopped around before choosing the Black and definitely made the right choice. It feels great to ride, a combination of light and easy, sturdy and strong. I impressed my car mechanic when I dropped my car off for a service and declined a lift to work, I got my Black out of the back seat of the car and scooted off to work. Our family of 3 also has fun scooting together on the weekends, our 3 year old has a toddler's 3-wheeled Micro which she loves.Stylish, practical, adjustable height handle bar.
The button to fold the handle bar is a bit obscure and was hard to find the first time, the instruction booklet is not clear at all.

I have recently moved to Christchurch and I am considering getting a Micro Black/white for my wife and myself. My wife is 3.8km away from work and the traffic is bad in the mornings and so we like the idea of using a kick scooter to get to work, as well as ride around on the weekends.
However I can't seem to find any shops that stock the micro black or white and I can't seem to get the stockists selection to work on the website.
Can someone please tell me where I can go look at and try out the scooters?
Regards,
Noel
I bought mine in Manly NSW near Sydney.
