Micro Kickboard Original Questions & Answers
VerifiedHello, I am in doubt whether to buy a Micro Kickboard Original 2.0 or a Compact Black (KB0020).
What are the main differences? Thanks Alberto
Hi Alberto, We at Micro Scooters Australia unfortunately no longer carry the Kickboard original scooter as it has been superseded by the Compact model. The main difference really is the deck used on the scooter - the Kickboard original uses a wood/fibre glass composite deck where as the compact uses a stronger more solid aluminium deck
I don't know whether to get the Kickboard or the White. I'm 60 and have been riding an old slim line deck( dont know the model), around just for bit of fun but want to get into serious riding with my grandaughter. I want to do a few kms at at time at least once a week as well as daily jaunts up/down road to shops or visiting. Please help.
Get a white. I got the kickboard because i was nervous about two wheels, and I don't regret it (it's so much fun) but it would be a bit slow for commuting. My kids are also 1 1/2 and 3, so they don't go very far or fast anyway, but if you want to keep up with your granddaughter, and she isn't a toddler, get something with bigger wheels than the kickboard.
I haven't tried the white so I don't know how the ride would differ. I bought the three wheels as I was worried about trying to balance and reach over to grab one of the kids if they lost control of theirs! My school drop off ride is 6km and it's a fun ride. Turns are smooth, brakes well.
If you've been riding a scooter for a while the white may be a better option. Have fun!
Hi Yve, The White is great for mobility and speed - it's also more compact than the 3 wheel models. The Kickboard will be more suited if you liked the 3 wheelers, and you are looking for something with added balance. If your older scooter is a two wheeler, then I'd think you'd be more comfortable with the White.
Hope this helps!

Hi! Am an adult and can't decide to buy the original or compact. I have read that compact is for beginners, what's that about?
Hi, I'm not sure as I purchased for my husband. I reckon you should contact the company. Here is a link. external link Cheers and have fun on your scooter, we have had ours for about six years now and it's still going perfectly!

Hi there! We list the compact as being for beginners as it has a smaller deck and is the lighter of the two (3.5kg vs 4.9), but other than that they function very similar with same handlebar heights and same wheel size. The Kickboard Compact would be great for both beginners and experts alike.
Hope this helps :)
My husband is 6 foot 2 would the handle bars be high enough? Can u recommend the best option. He weighs around 90kg
Hi Kelsong, The Micro Kickboard Original handlebars extend right out to 102cm so he shouldn't have an issue with the height. In terms of weight the limit is 100kgs for all our adult scooters, so no problem there as well. Check out the Micro Black, it’s as an excellent all rounder adult scooter –perfect for commuting or just for general use with the kids.
Cheers,
Jonathan
it would be really useful to see a video of an adult on this - anyway the question is which is easier to ride, the joystick or the tbar? i would like to try at skate parks as well as travel on a scooter, but the joystick handle confuses me as to whether it would be okay trying to learn on a skate park.
Hi Parna, The Kickboard Original now comes with an interchangeable T-Bar and Joystick so you can choose and change your steering style on the go to suit your preference. We don't have any videos of this at the moment but if you would like to see one in person I would suggest checking one of our local stockists at external link .
My daughter has a mini micro i want to go scooting with her but have a balance issue so need 3 wheel scooter as can't use the 2 wheel scooters. Is this easy to use?
If you are sure you can use a three wheel scooter then it may work. The three wheel micro for adults is like a skateboard, so you have to lean to the left or right to turn. Expensive to buy but worth every cent.
I find it easy to use. You still to take it a bit slow to begin with but like anything, with practice it's is a breeze and so much more fun than walking!
It's a hard question because it often comes down to personal preference. I would recommend that the best thing is to get her to try one out. If you contact one of our stockists at external link then they may have one she can take for a test drive.
