wifi network adapter disappears – I would never purchase another Microsoft pc. I have lost count of the number of times the network adapter has just disappeared and i have to spend time connecting my phone and uninstall/re installing network adapters. tomorrow I will smash it in the driveway and perhaps post it to tiktok I also cant recall the number of times the bluetooth turns… Read more
off but good luck finding the setting to turn it on. So much of my life wasted on this piece of rubbish. and yes purchased brand new.
Great but has its downfalls – I unfortunately dropped my surface out of warranty and the screen costs over $700 to repair, as well as the computer frequently overheating and they're is no Microsoft shop in Perth. Otherwise the surface is terrific, it runs everything well, the graphics and speed are excellent and its nice and lightweight. Show details
Great For School Work – Got this for my daughter's schoolwork (year 10), no problems with it for the various tasks she uses it for. All the Microsoft Suite, web surfing, even some basic video editing and it has no lag and has maybe frozen once. Keyboard connects and disconnects very easily, typing isn't hard. Solid device for what we use it for. Show details
Excellent replacement to traditional tablets – I mainly use the surface pro for my client meetings and I found it much easy to carry around while using all the features of a fully equipped PC. The touch screen functionality add up to the value as it helps to replace my tablet and laptop with this perfect device. The stylus allows you to take notes while receiving client feedback and lets you… Read more
store them easily. I broke the screen once and it was easy to get it fixed although it costed a bit much..overall experience has been great!
Unreliable! – I purchased 1 tablet and the touch screen stopped working after 1 month. I then took it to be replaced and the replacement that I was given would not connect to the keyboard. I realized this one didn't work either within half an hour. I was given a third tablet. This one is under a year old and it is not connecting to the keyboard again. I am a… Read more
full time student and I do not have time for a tablet that never works. I saved up for a very long time to purchase this product and I have been extremely careful with it.
The JB Hi Fi staff lied to me about the warranty that I was getting. They told me it was a replacement warranty and it was a repair warranty - so not I am studying with no computer.
Three tablets breaking within a year, and most my friends are experiencing similar issues despite being very careful with the product. Unbelievable!
Very Slow, and hard to find solutions – I connect my pro 3 to monitor and when I took it off only part of the screen is working. the top 20% of the screen is appeared in black. I try to contact them after coming back from work and their support is closed after 5 PM Sydney time. Waste of money and crap machine
Amazing... very helpful for students – very easy to carry around and the processor is fast enough to make it a replacement of a laptop at classrooms. With win10, its performance has increased manifold. the surface pen along with the pro 3 makes it very easy to take notes during class, or if you are creative you can doodle with it while the lecturer bores you.. ;)
Works very well – Have had this for 6 months now, it works very well. Two complaints of the product: - The little flip stand out back is not very versatile as it creates one single viewing angle only which makes it incredibly difficult to use compared to a traditional laptop in certain environments such as on your lap ironically. When using this on public… Read more
transport the viewing angle is not very convenient and works best when used on a hard stable surface.
- The second complaint is with the use of the flip cover keyboard you can buy, it's not possible to flip the keyboard to the back of the screen to use it like a tablet with the keyboard attached. You need to physically take the keyboard off which is very inconvenient using it in different postures or when passing the device around etc.
Glad I got one – I have been wanting to replace my Surface RT with one of these for ages, ever since the Pro 1. My son dropped and broke the RT(bless him). I am a fan of Windows 8.1, but I have upgraded to Win10. Its good, kind of a cross between Win 7 and Win 8.1. Being able to install programs from .EXE files makes this Tablet quite a bit more useful than the… Read more
RT(and others) and there are many more after market accessories for the Pro.
Get the Type Keyboard, its worth every penny.
Great product – I've had it now for over a year, and it works perfectly. The design is sleek and very easy for work and play. The light touch keyboard is pretty cool, but does become slightly annoying after long periods on it. That said, I do tend to use an external keyboard. The single USB port is also another point of contention, but you quickly learn to work… Read more
around it. There's no way that could comfortably work with it on your lap, this is essentially a desktop or a tablet, but never a laptop. You won't be able to pull it out and have it resting on your lap and tap away.
Designed for the need – This is a excellent product. You can obviously use it as a tablet but also as laptop, which i like the most. With the windows 10 and i5 processor, enjoying using it heaps with the high speed operation. Provided with stylus, i can write down notes easily. :) So i like the product most!
Awesome product! – The surface is a great product, it is compact and you can use it as a laptop or tablet. The layout is simple to use and it is very responsive, it has everything that you need on it. The apps are great fun and the pen that comes with it makes it even more interactive. Definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to get one!
great for uni students – It is very lightweight and great for uni students It is incredibly fast to start up and the best part is the screen being a touch screen so its easy to scroll down and move around Theres many choices of applications Only con are the updates and the camera is the worst thing ever

Know better, choose better.
Very Close – The surface pro is nearly a perfect tablet except for a few oversights. Lets start by singing some of its praises. Its light, it fast, good battery life, tablet and PC functionality combined, nice crisp graphics , handles high res videos , the pen is useful and functional, nice magnetic power connector ,if you accidentally pull the power cord the… Read more
connector will just unplug itself without damaging the the tablet, a standard external power pack can be add via the USB for extra portable power, the Windows 8.1 OS is more suited to tablet and works well with no errors messages or hang ups,the WiFi is reliable and fast, you can sync settings from your PC and share files with Onedrive. Now for the trashing, you only get the bare minimum , no case or keyboard and they are expensive to buy, the virtual key boards are very poor , all of them you have to swap to different layouts to access numbers or symbols , the sound could better , only one USB port , tried connecting it to the printer but just got some strange windows error message , the magnetic power connector can double up as a holder for the pen but only if the USB port is free, there are no user upgrades for hardware, battery, ram, etc
Below expectations – I find that Windows 8.1 Pro is not at all intuitive and can be frustrating to use. It has very sharp picture/text quality - that's its biggest plus. Shame it doesn't come with Microsoft Office or a keyboard included (the type cover is nice to use - feels like a 'real' keyboard - although the furry texture gets worn and dirty easily). Even though a… Read more
gloss screen is great for picture quality, tablets should have an antiglare coating built-in (virtually impossible to see the screen in bright sun by a bus/train window), and some fingerprint resistance. You will need the pen, as some content is too tiny for accurate finger touch and won't zoom out to enable finger selection. It gets quite warm very quickly, so isn't too comfortable to use on your lap. The battery seems to last maybe 4hrs with moderate use (no movies/videos/games). The sound quality is fairly average. Even though it's capable of being a genuine desktop/laptop replacement, I wouldn't recommend it for business use as it's unreliable. The cursor will OFTEN freeze (every other time you use it) and sometimes the Surface will refuse to turn on or turn off - the button is just unresponsive. With programs that won't allow you to zoom out, the small screen size will give a tiny text size that is very difficult to work with. I bought it for business use, but as it's unreliable and you need to carry a back-up computer, it defeats the purpose of having a small portable device. You don't want to waste valuable time shutting down and restarting (if it allows you to do either of these things) when you are in the middle of something urgent or important. Given that it's not a reliable laptop replacement, it's too expensive to buy for entertainment use only.
