I should not have purchased another Miele product. Not only their appliances fail right after warranty but their service has been absolutely appalling. Purchased new replacement dishwasher 30 June 2025, product in stock. Because I live an hour out of Melbourne, it is a street side delivery only with COPE. I tried to schedule the delivery with… Read more
Miele as I was going away but was told COPE will be in contact. 2 weeks later I receive a photo from COPE of my new dishwasher sitting on my front porch, open view to street. I was not home for another 2 weeks. Only option I had left after exhausting solutions was to return it requesting a refund. I was not willing to risk someone stealing the DW or gaming it after being weathered in the rain. After 1 week trying to organise a refund, finally I spoke to the resolution team who informed me I would have my refund in 3-5 business days. Now I’m being informed my refund will be 3-5 days after collection. It took a week for Miele to collect the dishwasher and now I’m told the warehouse manager went on leave and they haven’t processed it into the warehouse and I’ll have to wait another 3-5 business days. Which really wasn’t assured 100%. I am tired of dealing with this company charging high prices for poor product quality and appalling customer service. It’s been 2 weeks so far trying to organise a refund.
Previously had a Bosch, inherited it from the house we bought, it was at least 8 years old, developed issues so we needed a replacement. Narrowed next purchase down to Bosch vs Miele. We ended up with the Miele due to 1. Eco stats, 2. Rack layout. So far very impressed, and we are happy for the purchase. Attachment shows wash cycle eco… Read more
wattage. 2 hours duration, 12 mins @1800W, followed by 3mins @1927W, between the cycles it was using 47W. This is really good and the dishes were clean, this is our default cycle.
I recently purchased this as a replacement for a 13yo Miele that never missed a beat until in late January the pump on the old one died. So I bought the new version (with addition of self opening / drying facility) of the same model for just over 2x what it was going to cost to repair. Had it professionally installed at additional cost to… Read more

I'm a bit disappointed to be honest. My ratings reflect my comparison to my previous Miele dishwasher.
A few observations :-
1. It's much noisier than my previous Miele - which is very obvious in open-plan kitchen / living area - not like the old one, which we struggled to hear.
2. I had to search for an independent "how-to" video on YouTube to figure out how to open the door after the self opening / drying cycle. NOT mentioned at all in the Miele manual or on Miele website / videos.
3. The trays are now made of a thick unwieldy plastic compared to old "wire" style - they seem to take up more room, allow fewer plates etc to be stacked and are hard to grab to slide in and out.
4. Like a previous poster here on ProductReview AU I am certain the internal dimensions have shrunk. In my old Miele I used to be able to stack my standard everyday dinner plates in bottom tray and side plates, bowls and glassware in the top tray. No longer !!!!! No matter how many times in such micro increments I adjust the top tray position the same combination of plates will just not all fit in at the same time. And unlike before I cannot get ANY of my everyday stemware into the top tray any more without laying them almost all the way down. This means I have to put fewer plates and bowls in each load because of the awkward angles they have to lay at to fit in at all. Not particularly efficient or economic to be doing say 3 loads instead of 2 given cost of electricity and we are on tank water - yeah, thanks for that Miele - NOT.
5. I cannot yet comment on whether cleaning the filters etc will be worse than my old one - but given all other seemingly pointless design changes to a brilliant product I am more than trepidous.
Next time I buy a dishwasher I guess I will have to take my dinner service and wineglasses into an appliance showroom to "try before I buy".
Have had this dishwasher for a while and have been really happy with it. Recently it developed an issue so we contacted Miele and a technician was sent out (Pablo L). Was concerned that it would require an expensive repair, but Pablo assured us that the fault was covered by warranty. Pablo resolved the issue and even cleaned up after he was… Read more
finished. I can’t thank Miele enough for the professional service provided by its technician. Miele not only sell great products, but also offer exceptional customer care.
After the delivery date was messed up, the dishwasher stopped working after 4 months - 20 odd cycles! Spent ages on the phone to arrange a call out. Was told it would cost $199 for the first 30 minutes with incremental charges thereafter, despite the fault clearly being a warranty issue. I had to agree to the charges before a callout could be… Read more
arranged.
Miele then changed the service date without checking if this was ok, so I spent even more time to get this fixed. Calls were cut off by Miele while being transferred - twice, so I had to sit on hold and go through ID checks multiple times as if I was contacting Centrelink, providing information that Miele obviously had.
Couldn't change any appointmemt details online as my ex partner's details kept coming up as the contact person and I couldn't progress through the process after changing the contact name to mine. I asked Miele to remove his details THREE times, explaining each time how distressing this was because I had experienced domestic violence from him.
When I raised a load of issues with Miele, I was asked to provide all the information THEY had provided to ME so that they could examine my concerns - customer number, job number, serial number etc etc!
When the technician came to look at my dishwasher, he told me I had to pay for a plumber to change the connecrion from the hot water tap to the cold water tap because the hot water had damaged the solenoids. I said that was an install problem because that should have been sorted out at that stage. He seemed stumped when I said Miele had done the install.
I then said I had only used the machine around 20 times so there must be a design flaw if the machine could be damaged this easily and that I couldn't be the only person this had happened to. He said I was the first one.
Then I checked online and found that not only can this dishwasher be connected to hot water, this is a selling point because it saves electricity! Even after saying everything he did to avoid admitting this was a warranty issue, the technician asked if the hot water connection was for a washer (i.e. washing machine instead of a dishwasher).
I bought this machine with a 10 year warranty. I had to ask for an invoice several days after I entered a contract with Miele and paid for everything because they didn't offer or send one. I received a 'proforma invoice' dated several days after the date of contract and payment, and after the 10 year warranty offer included in the agreed price had expired. There was NO mention of the 10 year warranty on this invoice. The invoice was changed to include the words '10 year warranty'. I have since received emails from Miele claiming I only have a 2 year warranty. Miele did not addressed this issue when I emailed them about it alongside my ithwr recwnt concerns. They did, however, apologise for me being confused because they changed the service date without checking if this was ok.
It seems their practice is to wait until delivery to provide an invoice rather than providing one at the time of sale. An invoice is not a delivery note! Delaying an invoice like this can deprive customers of the chance to cancel a sale before delivery if any irregularities arise. Not sure it complies with either cash or accrual accounting for GST either.
Treating a woman like an idiot is not good businesd practice, especially one who had to tell you what she did just to try and change appointment details online.
Miele responded well after my first complaint but my dealings today left me feeling like they knew there was a problem with the machine they supplied and that by telling me to get a plumber to do unnecessary work, were trying to avoid their responsibility under the warranty.
Making a complaints process as difficult as possible with lengthy on hold times and call disconnections feels like another strategy for people to give up on Miele and to just pay someone else for a service that was built into the price of the appliance they have paid for. Similar problems with Miele have been described on other consumer forums.
The technician eventually agreed the fault was a warranty issue and promised he would get back to me by the end of the day with a solution. Less than 2 hours til midnight and I've heard nothing.
I got better value out of an Aldi dishwasher that cost under $400, lasted 10 years and used generic tablets and rinse aid. And none of this grief.
So far so good. Bought it from Miele Australia. Based on other reviews thought we'd be waiting 6 weeks or more, to our surprise got it within a week! Compared to our old Asko this is a big step up. All the drawers slide out so easily, all feels strong and sturdy. And it's just really well designed - everything seems to fit in each compartment,… Read more
whether it's a glass or mug or ramekin. Heaps of space at the bottom for endless plates. Nearly all our plates are <30cm diameter so haven't had to stack most plates leaning forward - some of them are and they clean just fine. And to the cleaning, it's impressive. I put the lid from the rice cooker in, it gets cooked on grime and always takes some hard scrubbing when washing by hand. Put it on Auto program. I was amazed it came out sparkling clean, better than I could've done by hand. How did it do that?? Really like the Autoopen feature too. Means we can put it on before bed and wake up with it all being clean and dry in the morning. Tupperware still has water on it, but that's no hassle to take out and put on our drying rack. Very happy with it so far. Fingers crossed it won't have any issues
An absolute waste of money – Having always had Miele dishwashers, I had no hesitation in replacing our 15 year old machine with a new Miele. What a mistake! The new dishwasher is tiny internally compared with our old one and of a very flimsy material. Our dinner plates can't be stacked upright in the lower basket, even with the top basket raised to the top position. This… Read more
means we have to stack the plates leaning forward, leaving no room for smaller plates and bowls at the front of the basket. And as the plates aren't standing upright, they are not properly cleaned. Every plate has to be rewashed by hand. And our stemmed wine glasses don't fit at all even when we lower the top basket and raise the 'lid' on the cutlery basket. Although you can slide the cutlery holder to one side in an attempt to accomodate longer glassware, once the glass is in place the top basket then can't be slid out as the edge of the cutlery drawer would snap the stem. Our previous machine had the benefit of being able to put longer stemmed glasses in the bottom shelf as well, but this model doesn't have the fold down 'stem holder' either! Literally, there is nowhere in the machine that you can put these stemmed glasses. This is an incredibly poor design and I have wasted my money!

Dishwasher died in 1 year – I bought the machine for $2k+ on Boxing Day of 2022 and it was not delivered until after the new year in 2023. I was juggling between Bosch and Miele at the time and decided to pay for more expensive Miele for the expected longevity. It died mid-washing cycle yesterday, literally under one year. I have to manually evacuate the dishes and drain… Read more
the soapy water. I live alone so only use the machine every 3-4 days. I can’t imagine what it’ll be like for larger families. I booked a warranty service - it's 2 weeks wait. I’m very disappointed, the last cheap Chinese no name brand dishwasher lasted 7 years. Miele built to last 20 years promotion is a fantasy and the additional cost is unjustified. This will be my first and last miele dishwasher. I would suggest others to consider buying Bosch or Siemens; Bosch literally costs <50% of Miele and have almost identical water and electricity consumption ratings.
Update: After 2 weeks, the serviceman came and indicated that the circuit board was fried. He replaced the entire board. He indicated that it was a common issue potentially due to power surge - I did not notice any surge at the time of incident and no other appliance at home was affected. The whole repair process was a plug and play and took no more than 15 minutes.
I was contacted by Miele PR Support afterwards because of my negative review and as a sign of goodwill they sent me a huge box of Miele dishwashing tablets. I thought that was a nice gesture, despite my initial frustration. I have updated my rating from 1 to 3 star. My view remains that Miele should improve engineering design and increase service personnel availability.

F78 error 2 weeks of purchasing the machine – - 2 weeks after purchasing we got an error F78 on the machine, and had to perform a DIY fix as per stated on the Miele website. It was a very stressful as it is an expensive appliance. Called Miele but was left on hold for over an hr so we decided to perform this 'fix' multiple times prior to the machine working again. One month later, the same… Read more
error F78 pops up on the machine again - surely it is not acceptable to perform a DIY fix every month on a machine that is two months old!!! I called Miele and am told that I will need to pay for a service technician to come out and look at the machine and if it is deemed a manufacturing fault then they would waive the charges. This machine is Two months old!.. It is covered under warranty! To add insult to injury, I am told that I will need to wait a week for a technician to come out to me!!! unacceptable and terrible support for this type of organisation. I will NOT be recommending Miele to anyone and I will not be paying for a service technician to fix a fault on a faulty machine that I was sold!
quality compromised – we bought this to replace our old Miele dishwasher that we had for 10 yrs.Iwas disappointed with the G5210 SC straightaway it was very noticeably lighter and the buttons had very little resistance when depressed and if anything could appear to rattle a bit and you had to depress several times before the console lit up another problem i have… Read more
found is you have to place a dinner plate on the angle whereas before they slotted in upright no bother and so the rotary arm catches the dinner plates. the plastic coating on the middle cup tray has come off nearly exposing the steel wire ,overall i would not recommend buying this model .i would be very cautious in buying any Miele product again they are obviously trying to cut cost and i believe quality should never be compromised but in this model it has
