Strong machine – The suction is great- it works well on carpet, haven't tried it on wood flooring but I imagine it would also be good. the design is great, it's compact, a bit heavy and I wish it was bagless but otherwise there are no complaints.
Top German engineering – This exact model is discontinued (I got a very good price for that reason), but I suppose there is a replacement. Like all Miele products it exudes fine engineering and extreme solidity: when the big motor goes on it sounds like a plane warming up. It is certainly heavy, especially pushing around carpets, but the suction is huge and the swivel head makes it easy to get in most places. The onboard tools are cleverly designed. It uses bags, which are quite expensive for the genuine ones, but the contents pack down tightly and they last a long time. Oddly enough, the casing hinge seems a bit vague when you close it, but it's never been a problem.

Powerful, reliable, fantastic system – Reviewing the upright Miele vacuum. I purchased this second hand in excellent condition. Have used it for several months. I'm pretty sure Miele is manufactured in Germany as well. The suction is awesome. I have a fluffy rag doll cat and though not advertised as an animal vacuum it has done AMAZING on rugs and carpet. It has no problem changing your dusty rug into original colour either. It works perfectly fine on floors. Have used regularly on wood floors and concrete. Rubber wheels prevent scratching and elevates the vacuum slightly off ground so vacuum doesn't scratch either. The swivel head technology works just fine and manuvers well.
The down is its heavy. Which is why the grandmother sold it. It's not great for fragile people needing something lighter. And when you use the other tools attached to the system via the nozzle head you have to watch that the vacuum doesn't fall over as you reach out. That's quite annoying, as it is a big unit to have fall flat.
Great Vacuum – Love this vacuum, easy to push around with the added bonus of a swivel head. Your able to get to corners and love the function of getting under tables, chairs and beds. Tools are on board so it's quick to get into those more awkward places. It has good floor options carpet boost and hard floors, and you can feel the difference in the suction modes. Only one issue, the bag change is a little tricky and the casement seems flimsy but due to the other features I can live with that. You have to make sure that you have stood the vacuum up correctly otherwise it will fall over, but no issue as long as you do it right.
I've previously had Dysons and this vacuum is a good replacement. I would recommend this vacuum over the Dyson and I never thought I would do that. German technology at its best, even the husband and kids can use it.
Miele upright – I have been using my Miele for over a year now, and have found it to work very well. I have a dog and cat, both of which shed huge amounts of hair, and the vacuum picks it all up. i did have a electrolux ultra one, which i hated, found difficult to push and when it broke under warrenty chose the miele. good suction, on board tools, variable suction, easy to push. picks up pet hair very well. easy to change bags. heavy, cant get into small spaces or corners.

$320 to replace a broken wire where it enters the machine!! Miele really?
