Lil Boo, I Didn't know I needed You! – Lil Boo because she is white. But what an absolute beast! Why? We had the previous model and thought it was great! The difference is huge and we never thought it would be. It's longer not by much but enuf to second guess where I park. So I park usually where no one else does and it makes me want to park properly, even with all of the parking… Read more

sensors and cameras watching my every move.

Use: Family car, a daily run a round town, long distance driving as well as for 4x4 off road Beach camping. On the beach is where it is absolutely unstoppable and thats not even having to use all the extra functions. Airing down the tyres, shifting into "sand" mode, unlocking the wheels, not driving like a lunatic while pulling a 2.3tonne fully stocked camper is the bomb! You can't even feel the camper behind you.

Comfort: Seating is very comfortable, most especially the front. There is a warm seat function on the driver's side only..which is a shame as its great for soothing lower back issues on long journeys. The drivers seat also has electric moving functions that are brilliant and can be preset if needed. It's also a shame the passenger side doesn't have the same? Doesn't make sense as I would have paid a bit extra for them both to be the same in all aspects.

Room: Very good leg room in the front, but not so much in the back for adults, still ok though. Head room is great all round.

Sound System: AMAZING!!!

Interior: Leather upholstery with cool stitching on door trims and all seats. Usual material for everywhere else.

Fuel consumption: I have found its 12-12.5lt per 100ks around town (I am not a lead foot or an aggressive driver) Highway driving 8.8lt per 100ks. For the size of the car it's brilliant compared to our old next model - MQ was horrific, highway was high 11lt/100ks and 15lt/100ks around town so much cheaper!!!

Safety: Sticks like a brick on the road. Airbags x 6 along with awesum collision/crash avoidance stuff going on too.

Servicing: Lil Boo has literally just ticked over 6,000ks and only had her first service at 1500k. Took her for her first beach camping in that time too and ready to go again Dec 1 for a month!

Loves: How she blinks and tucks her ears (side mirrors) in when you lock her. (See Video) Keyless entry is to die for...I don't even have to get the keys out of my bag!!! Push button start is amazing...again i dont have to get the keys out of my bag hahaha. I just love the feel of the drive, it's very easy despite the size. The gear paddles are also a game changer for me they make going up and down mountains easy with out having to touch the break all the time. The display screen is amazingly bigger than the older model, easy to use and the camera resolution is very clear. The side step is at the perfect height too and for my dad who is 81yrs old and finds it difficult to get in and out I leave a fold up step for him to use...works a treat.

Dislikes: I'm not fussed about the phone connection sometimes. It won't play from one of my favourite apps but will only from another one I don't always use. Weird... But the over all connectivity is great. Sometimes the "break now" feature flashes when there is no one in front of me and there are a few other gremlins running around the system but hopefully they will iron themselves out. The gear box is clunky at times even in reverse...really not at all happy about that, but I have been told it 'should' smooth out round 15,000ks...so will be interesting to see if it does. If not it will go back in to the service centre until it's rectified!

Looks: Chunky with rounded curves, means business, kinda almost classy and sexy all in one :))

Note to self: Don't go around corners in the wet without something with a little bit of weight in the back!

**Who knew the tyre jack hides behind the back seat! Lolzzz see photo

Shoddy workmanship – Tail lights installed upside down so trapped moisture and corroded assembly. Replaced under warranty but with inconvenience and cost to me. Paint worn off door sill after 2 years of average punter use. Normal "wear and tear" according to dealer....so every car in Australia has paint worn off after 2 years?? . Poor manufacturing and Mitsubishi doesn't want to know.!! Not impressed.. Show details

Great value for money – Just ticked over 10,000km and still very happy with the Triton. Some niggles like intercooler o ring blowing 3 times already and the head unit is a p.o.s. so I bought a better one. Having said that though the Triton is superbly comfortable over the likes of a Hilux and offers great value for money. The 10 year warranty is annoying because you… Read more

Great Ute and Value for Money – Love my MR Triton. Had it for 3 years and has done 77,000km. Hasn’t missed a beat. Easy to park around town in shopping centres etc and awesome off road on Fraser Island. Huge amount of tech as standard and great reverse camera. Love it! Show details

Excellent value for money – 2021 GLX model is certainly the best value for money of the vehicles in this range. Very good fuel economy, excellent comfort, great extras, pent of room. Used for business and personal and fits the bill perfectly. Tows a 1800kg camper trailer well although affects the fuel economy more than I thought. All up though, very happy with the purchase, and looks great. Show details

Display head unit glitching problem – Got the ute a few weeks ago and immediately had the head unit issues. Randomly glitches out, sometimes not recovering at all. Warranty not honoured – On Tuesday 19th March 2024, I had to spend $1,932.00inc to replace a split intercooler hose on my 4.5 year old Triton. A receipt for the work and associated costs was provided to Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL). My car is still under warranty. The work required a DPF regeneration, smoke testing, a system chemical clean, a new… Read more

intercooler hose and an oil and filter change. The work was completed by a licenced, independent diesel mechanic and the work was required to be completed immediately as my vehicle could not be driven further. My local Mitsubishi dealer couldn't fit me in and I require my vehicle for work.

This work was NOT covered under warranty. The local dealership, Camden Valley Mitsubishi, supplied the hose and at the time they had 30 hoses in stock as this is a known issue with MQ and MR Tritons. The repairer who completed the work had a second Triton (MQ model) at his workshop at the same time as mine was there with the exact same fault.

I requested MMAL to reimburse me for the costs associated with this repair. An intercooler hose should not be considered a perishable item, especially after 4 years of limited use when the vehicle has been serviced and cared for correctly.

MMAL requested to see photos of the faulty part, which of course I did not have. MMAL have now refused to reimburse me ANY of the costs involved and in a dismissive email they have told me that they consider this case closed.

I have worked in a customer service and sales capacity for 30 years and have a thorough understanding of customer and manufacturer rights and responsibilities and levels of liabilities. The position of MMAL on this matter has been disgusting and they refuse to honour their manufacturer warranty.

comings of vehicle before purchase, intercooler hoses, head unit quality etc, but they were replaced by 6 mths of age with better quality aftermarket. No issues. As with all my 4wds, replaced suspension with 40mm lift from " Loaded 4wd". What a game changer especially rear, harsh initial shock of leaves gone with a much more supple comfortable ride. Best aftermarket replacement on vehicle. Vhedia head unit great system. Reports of brakes wearing premature, not with my car, pads still 2 thirds of meat left , disc's rotors no issues. This tourer car has been around Australia twice now, no issues. Negative - paint on chassis weld areas, poor, grab a can of black paint straight away before going off road as I did and also grease all uni's and suspension yourself. Read manual, alot of people think consumables are a warranty issue, there not, belts, hoses, bulbs ,tyres, brakes, wipers, paint wear etc Remember how much you paid for vehicle before you compare it to vehicles costing 8 to 20 grand more and being disappointed. It still gets you to the exact same places , sometimes more competently and with a little of the money saved put it on suspension and tyres and start grinning.

Don't purchase latest Triton GLX+ if you want extras such as roof racks – Very happy with the car overall although there are quite a few glitches in the software that need to be sorted out and the dealership does not seem to be able to deal with them. about roof racks for the cab and was told they would be available around October, in addition seat covers were not available. Was told by salesman would have to wait a month for canopy to be provided and it arrived 4 months later and asked to have a roof rack fitted and was told they are not available and no idea when they would be. At date of writing I have sourced seat covers from elsewhere, still do not have roof racks and no sign of one ever being available for canopy.

Ok but not great. Just does the job – Have had 2023 triton brand newy for 18mths No issues done 108000kms so far Not the most comfortable ute compared to the ranger of same year and even the 2015 dmax with 400000kms is more comfortable. If I had the money I wouldn't buy another one I'd go dmax or ranger for comfort as I do alot of miles and I can tell you that the dmax and ranger are alot more comfortable

Triton value for money and reliability are unmatched in the Australian market – I have done 73,000km in my 2019 MR Triton GLS 4x4 dual cab turbo diesel. My Triton is fitted with Tough Dog suspension (incl. 9-way adjustable foam cell shockers), a long range fuel tank, RSI canopy, rear diff-lock and bullbar with RUNVA winch. The ute's roadholding on bitumen and offroad in the constant 4x4 mode is highly commendable and very… Read more

predictable. It is nimble with a tight turning circle which makes it a gem on tight offroad tracks as well as in urban use. My Triton has done everything from Cape York roads to the deep sands of Fraser Island. The build quality is great and after 70,000km everything is still sturdy and looking and functioning like new. Despite a lot of negative comments in the press about the "dated interior", I find the cabin and seating position ergonomically good and the safety features more than sufficient. The lack of adaptive cruise control is not a deal breaker for me, seeing that I don't rely on all the electronic systems to drive my car. So far I have not had a single complaint to be addressed under warranty. The Triton gets serviced every 15,000km or 12 months, whichever occurs first. Occasionally I tow a 1,700kg camper trailer and the Triton handles this with ease. TheTough Dog 300kg constant load rear leaf springs together with the Tough Dog 9-way adjustable foam cell shockers give real stability to my towing combination. The constant four wheel drive option makes for safe towing in wet and slippery conditions on bitumen as well as offroad. Many dual cab utes on the market do not have the ability to engage 4x4 mode on hard surfaces. I have fitted Falken Wild Peak AT3 tyres to the Triton and find them excellent. The tyre noise on bitumen is minimal whilst the grip on bitumen surfaces, both in wet and dry conditions, is impressive. These tyres also performed well offroad and in the sand (if deflated to about 18psi). The conclude, I regard the Triton GLS as unbeatable value for money.

Severe back pain – I never had back pain with my old car driving hundreds of kms per week. Now, just drive Triton ute double cab for a month and suddenly i woke up with sharp back pain can't move. The pain settled after 2 days in bed. I returned using my old sedan and never had the back pain anymore. Then i tried the Triton ute again and in just a week the excruciating back pain happened again. I am not using the Triton ute anymore.

Plenty of aftermarket accessories Available. Engine can be easily tuned for more power and torque, I had mine done by ultimate diesel tuning, it a different beast now. Best part is it cheap and reliable so you have lots more aftermarket options to add on without breaking the bank. Word of advice. If you going to lift it the fuel consumption and engine performance will be slightly affected. It can get to all low to medium grade 4wd tracks without a lift.

to axel, but this allows for a shorter wheelbase and great turning circle. An intercooler hose split which required replacement which took seven months for Hobart Mitsubishi to perform who claimed they couldn't get the part. The exhaust manifold cracked and also required replacing which took 6 weeks for them to get the part - beware of parts supply issues. The head unit freezes and has not been resolved. Have to turn the ute off and on to reset the head unit. The front parking sensors randomly alert on occasions when stationary and no obstacles around. The turbo has a noticeable lag when accelerating aggressively (e.g. entering busy intersection crossing traffic) and can be alarming if not use to it. Suggest always use 4x4 mode as the sudden coming on of the turbo in 2x4 will cause wheel spin, especially in the wet. With aftermarket modifications such as suspension upgrade and a throttle controller like the iDrive, the ute is most satisfactory and great value for money.

Cheap for many reasons – Mitsubishi should recall these vehicles & replace the useless stereo head unit & fix the dangerous throttle lag. This issues are discussed daily in social media groups. I would never let an inexperienced driver operate my vehicle due to the lag. When you try to accelerate quickly there’s a delay of a second or two before the power kicks in.… Read more

Because of this delay, many drivers that I’ve spoken to have pushed a bit harder on the pedal & then had to deal with a larger than expected kick in power when it does come on. Especially dangerous in the wet. I noted this issue at my 1500km check up & was told that the vehicle is operating normally. The stereo system is total rubbish! Every time I get a phone call I have to power down the whole system to reset it so I can listen to the radio again after the call. The whole system powers down as soon as the engine is stopped & then takes about a minute to reboot if you want to listen with just the accessories on. There’s been many instances where the radio just drops out & gives static sound. System needs rebooting to rectify. Trying to swap between apps like Spotify & radio is extremely frustrating as it rarely works as hoped. Radio reception is terrible. The transmission is clunky & very indecisive. This vehicle is used daily. 2022 GSR. 6500km at time of writing. I regret this purchase.

Great Value for money. Some slight but niggly faults – We ordered a new XLS with luxury pack Triton last October and it was delivered in March 2022. The bad news: The infotainment system is not intuitive at all. eg. How to turn off the radio on either FM, AM or Digital.. There is no off button. (There is if you try REALLY hard to find it.) vehicle having done 33km. The seat is creased compared to the passenger seat.

The manual states that a set of tools (screwdriver, pliers etc.) that could conceivably help in an emergency is not supplied in Australia according to Midland Mitsubishi and confirmed by corporate office in a rather severe reply to my query. I object to any company that supplies a manual which states categorically but refuses to supply. Isn't that against consumer law? It's just irritating!

The car seems to vibrate under initial acceleration especially whilst towing a caravan.

The gearbox sometimes jerks when slowing down to a stop.

There is a small area of orange peel on the front right mudguard which is annoying but only visible under certain lighting conditions. So maybe I'm just picky.

One of the speakers rattles when listening to any music with bass. Again maybe I'm picky or deaf.

I am five foot eleven inches tall and struggle to stop bashing my head on the door edge when climbing into the cab. I would hate to be any taller!

The speed limiter is great but clunky to operate whilst driving and quite distracting. I have an old 2004 Mercedes that has a limiter which is completely intuitive to use and goes up or down in 10km/h steps. Not 1km/h or 5km/h at a time, which on the Triton makes it difficult to set.

The good news.

It drives beautifully. Feels solid on the road, provided the tyres are pumped up to the correct pressures. It was delivered with the pressures incorrectly set. By about 4 psi on one side. It tended to squirm and feel unstable. But as soon as the tyres were properly inflated it felt wonderful.

It is very economical compared to the 2014 Isuzu Mux I used to own.

It has no problem towing our 2100kg caravan and does it economically, much better than our old Isuzu Mux. Its extremely smooth and light to drive. No rattles and well finished

The safety features are exceptional. We haven't had to use them all yet but it's comforting to know that they are there.

It does get a bit bumpy when fully loaded, but it maintains it's stability.

Very easy and comfortable to drive in general. Setting the seat position is very easy.

The keyless system is wonderful.

The surround camera systems are very good and the 360 degree view and the parking sensors are very well integrated and intuitive.

The Android Auto connection works very well, although the screen is slightly too small to see the time on the screen for the driver.

The paint is very good except for the slight orange peel mentioned above.

I spent some time installing a brake controller and examined the assembly underneath. Very neat and tidy. Pity the gearbox has no bash protection. But I understand that it's made to a price point.

The tub is deep and apart from the wheel wells is easy to use.

The wheels are lovely and enhance the looks of the vehicle.

The fixed price servicing and 10 year warranty is great and quite affordable. Caveat being that it has to be serviced by Mitsubishi which could be a problem in outback Australia.

It is an all round pleasant driving experience.

I loved the Isuzu and it took us to outback Australia (about 125,000 km towing our caravan and all over Cape York without any problems.) I couldn't afford a new Mux and the Triton was significantly cheaper with a better warranty with all the safety features and a lockable rear differential and permanent 4 wheel drive, which is great for stability whilst towing a caravan.

So am I pleased? You bet. Once the niggles are sorted out, I believe it'll be in the family for at least 10 years

Cheap for a reason – 25,000KM into ownership and I am on first name basis with the manager of my Mitsubishi Dealership. It's on it's second gearbox, after the original one kept popping out of third at speed. The new gearbox refuses to go into reverse without a significant amount of force applied to it, so I suppose it's about to get its third gearbox now. I think… Read more

I've shelled out two, maybe three times for new brakes. The dealership insist that it is my driving but after I went to consumer affairs they admitted that there was a design fault. They are unable to rectify the brakes squealing it seems, so I just live with it now.

The entertainment unit is just awful. We'll leave it at that.

It beeps, bongs, boops and ticks for everything. Seatbelt is off momentarily? Beeps. Put it into reverse with the tailgate down? Different Beeps. Diesel tank a quarter empty? Different beeps again. If they had only engineered the rest of the car as well as they had the overwhelming amount of alarms on the dashboard.

Oh, and all four corners of suspension had to be replaced during the first service. I didn't have to pay for that though.

The dealership have been difficult at almost all times, I've had to get both corporate Mitsubishi and the ombudsman involved. I can't say I would recommend anyone buying one, that said, I can't say any other brand has a better reputation at the moment either.

BAD customer service – The head unit freezes all the time and i have to pull over, turn car off and start the car again just to unfreeze the head unit. Told Mitsubishi 9mths ago and still waiting for them to get back to me as to when it will be replaced as it's been doing it from the time we picked the car up from the caryard from brand new. So if your looking at a twin… Read more

cab Ute the don't get a Mitsubishi Triton. The car is 12mths and 3 weeks old. Even emailed head office but still nothing and no one gets back to me. Very frustrating when I have to pull off the road, turn the car off and start it again just to turn the volume up or down or even use the gps.

Very bad customer service

Sick of it – I Brought a Demo Mitsubishi Triton. The car is used occasionally. We live on acreage which has a dirt driveway only. The car sits in the carport most of the week. I have never done 4wd in it. I brought the car just as Covid Hit. So about 2 years ago now. Car is serviced on a regular basis. Since I have had to have the whole floor replaced as it… Read more

came away from the sides. At one stage the senses didn't work. Least they fixed them. The seat belt light in the back keep coming on even though the seat belt was plugged in.

But my main issue is that I have been trying for near on two years for them to fix my blue tooth. They told me it was my phone so I brought a brand new phone. Guess what didn't fix it. Told me it was from dust. It is a 4WD. Have had the car in and out service centre many a time and still has not been replaced. Two years and guess what Mitsubishi still have tests that they want to carry out on my blue tooth. They won't replace it.

No complaints here. Great Ute and great price :) – Currently towing my 2.5t caravan with stock suspension. Does the job. Owned since new 2019and had no problems. Done 45,000 ks. Good pricing, unlike the dmax which is overpriced for what you get. Show details

Great all rounder – Mostly used as a work vehicle, as a business broker. Great for carrying signs as well as customers. Most are surprised how comfortable and quality of air con, auto and sound system (mostly via Spotify). Occasionally tows an A Van Frances (1495 dry, about 1850 Loaded). Does it easily. Expect mid 8s for highway work, 10s in town and 14s or so… Read more

towing. It seems resale compared to sedans and SUVs is a lot better, so might think of a GSR in 12 months or less
