Modern Group Newcastle took our deposit with no intention of doing the work. It was only after we paid that we were informed the company was going through a "restructure." We were never told this upfront. This is completely unacceptable. We believe this was done in bad faith, and we’re now out of pocket as a result. In difficult times, it’s heartbreaking to see companies taking advantage of hardworking families who are already struggling.

 Follow-up  · Sadly, I called several times and only received one call back weeks later. We were told Modern Roofing Sydney had taken over because Modern Roofing Newcastle was trading under another name. They offered to do the work under the new name, but no new contracts or guarantees were provided. Our deposit was never refunded, and we had to deal with the liquidators to lodge a claim as creditors.

can't stop looking at it – A little while ago we had our roof restored with modern after stupidly going with a cheaper company first and it not lasting 12 months before the paint started coming off..We have now got a beautiful looking roof that we know is gonna last us for our lifetime atleast. and we got what we paid for this time.If only we got it done with modern first we could have saved alot of money

Poor customer service Unfinished job – Salesman John came out provided quote came back and we signed contract. Was contacted by Ian from production a few days later to start roof restoration. That's where the customer service ends . Roof is patchy and clearly not painted part of ridge capping not screwed in properly and corner is lifting Was advised by John process is over 2 visits one to replace roof nails ridge capping and seal x 2 then to come back and paint 2 weeks later. 4 weeks pass do not hear from anyone thought may be due to rain there was a delay. Contact the company they will pass details on. Receive a phone call asking to ring again as they are of the understanding work is completed. Ring again make arrangements for Ian from production to come out on either of 2 days . On the 2nd day still No one has come out to inspect job. Ring again and will make another time. Customer service in a phone call to apologise would be good. Now appt set for Ian to inspect job and await outcome So far over $4k wasted on poor work and extremely poor customer service. Will not recommend this company and after also interested in plantation shutters have purchased elsewhere. Will update review if satisfactory outcome UPDATE Ian out today confirmed roof needs fixing will try to sort out this week weather pending . Waiting now to see if fixed to satisfaction

Totally unprofessional – Asked them to give me a quote to repaint the roof of our unit. After they give you a quote and you attempt to accept it and tried to contact them they email stating we under quoted and can't do the job. what a joke
