Had a problem with my 5 year old kettle leaking. Reported leak to manufacturer and they promptly sent me out a new kettle, not exactly the same, as they don’t make that brand anymore, but very similar. Looks nice but leaks like everyone has said, issue is the handle at the back which attaches to the kettle if you tilt it water comes out and looks like its leaking at the bottom, I'm going to try to see if it can be removed and place a new seal, as for the rust that due to the water itself just use Vinger or lemon juice or both, boil and rinse no… Read more ·  4

need to buy scale remover, got mine secondhand with matching toaster, it was thick with stain not now shiny, I think the handle gets loose when pouring after a while because of the weight of water which wants the handle to roll, hench pressure on one bolt and hench the leak, handle needs to wrap around to the bottom to avoid the pressure at the top, or have 2 bolts or rivets on the handle bracket side by side to reduce the wanting itself to spin or roll on itself, just useless engineers / designer's these days, not thinking about structural and putting all their focuses on looks. Needs a new filter as well. Well that my advice, I'm smarter than the average designer's.

Leaks everywhere – After 2 years of normal use the kettle started to leak out of the bottom of the water gauge on the side. After every use there is a huge puddle of water on the bench. Given the cost of the kettle this is really disappointing. Would not purchase Morphy Richards appliances again. Show details

Replaced breakfast package – I have just had my kettle replaced I am so happy with my new one which is midnight blue and rose gold also with matching toaster. They both work great and had such a great selection. I can not say enough about the fantastic service I received

Good but has a problem – Like the price, sub $50, why would you pay more. Like the size, 1 litre. I could never figure why 1.7 was the default size, finally discovered this is 3 pints, which looks a more logical figure but too big for a couple. Like the colour, matches existing accessories. HATE the water gauge, why is it almost obscure, I am about to settle for looking inside to judge the level. Show reply

Just exactly what I wanted – Stylish and perfectly proportioned. I love it! Pours smoothly perfect spout. Fast boil and whistle option which I love! So happy with my choice looks amazing and is perfectly functional. If your looking for a practical stylish functional kettle at a good price this is it! Leaking after 18 months – Started leaking from spout area, now it’s leaking around the switch. It all pools up on the bottom and spills over the counter. Very dangerous. About 10ml every minute. The paint tends to also scratch very easily. Show details

Waste of money – Purchased this kettle from Harvey Norman Tweed Heads NSW 4/3/21 in a combo package with matching toaster and have been thoroughly disappointed with both. The kettle is very slow to boil and extremely noisy. Steam escapes from the lid and burns your hand when pouring. Show details

Element stop working after a year – Blew up after one year and in that year had already been starting to peel off in certain spots. Thought they would be a good brand but turns out all products I have bought from Harris Scarfe or house have been dodgy

Dont Buy it! – Dont buy it! You cant see the light on the base, and it doesnt even start boiling for 30 sec, so you keep checking it every 10 secs. Show details

Love it but leaks at the on/off switch – Have a red metallic one for ver 8 years. Changed filter a few years ago works perfectly. Won a purple one in a raffle and it started leaking water at on/off switch can’t trace it as I don’t have invoice. Am a bit cautious about buying another one!

Leaks like a tap – Absolute waste of $140!! I have never heard of a kettle leaking until I bought this one. I wanted to take it back, but of course I do not have my receipt, as kettles usually last a few years, I didn’t think I would have needed it. Very disappointed!! Looks great but is a lemon – Recently purchased this kettle with the matching toaster from Amazon. They look gorgeous but we have issues with both products. The kettle lid is an absolute debacle, it doesn't seal properly and is dangerous as it regularly pops off unexpectedly when pouring, falling into a pot etc. It was a bad purchase unfortunately. Show details

Paint disintegrated and now it’s leaking – Paint has disintegrated off ruby red kettle and now it’s leaking. These same reviews are all through Both Morphy Richards and Russell Hobbs red metallic kettle reviews. I want another as it matches toaster, but they seem plagued with same problems. Never again – Well just opened our new kettle so excited but while waiting for it to boil suddenly it started boiling over the top and my husband had to turn it off and in doing so has burnt his hand quite badly will be taking it back tomorrow and getting a diff kettle and sadly have toaster to match so will now have 2 diff products Very disappointed even after… Read more

This kettle is all looks no substance – This is a terrible kettle 1. the water doesn't stay hot for long at all so if you don't use it immediately you have to reboil it, 2. the water level is in a stupid spot & 3. it takes some fiddling to put it back on the stand thing Show details

Never again! – I bought one of these and it seemed okay until the warranty was almost at an end, when it failed. I could not find the receipt so was out of pocket replacing it. I will definitely never buy a Morphy Richards 'anything' again. Pretty poor when it can't even last the distance of the warranty. I also know other people who have had similar experiences. Leaks all over the place – We received this red kettle as a gift and it in less than three months old it leaks from the bottom of the gauge - we have no receipt so cant return it but it is a design fault which must be common in this kettle - it will have to be thrown away when we can afford to buy another kettle - very disappointed Show details

fast and relatively quietly......but, to continue manufacturing and selling a product that is not fit for purpose and has to be disposed of at this rate is utterly reprehensible. Won't buy any Morphy Richards product as long as I'm able to remember my terrible experience and will (with regret) share my experience with anyone who might be interested.

Does the job - aged poorly – Decent kettle. The water indicator ball became stuck about 1 year after purchase, so that no longer works. Also, the kettle ages poorly, with the finish on the outside picking up all grease and dirt etc. Overall, does the job and is still working, but maybe not worth the premium price tag.  Show details

Wouldn't purchase again – Paid $70. Not worth the premium price tag in my opinion. Loved the designer colour and look when I first purchased it but it aged poorly and leaked so I replaced it. became dull and looked ten years old yet I know not to use abrasives. Operationally it isn't any different from a much cheaper kettle so you are paying for the nice look. It doesn't last very long. Wouldn't buy again.

Great customer service - great product – My kettle stopped working after approx 14 months use. I emailed Morphy Richards and they replied almost immediately. I could not find the receipt for proof of purchase. They supplied a reply paid number for me to return the kettle & I received a brand new kettle a few days later by courier, I am absolutely delighted with their customer service.I would thoroughly recommend their products.  Show details ·  1

Just not designed to last – We've had to replace this kettle twice (under warranty) as it just starts leaking after a while. I like it while it works however. And the red colour is lovely. I'm going to get a kettle with a temperature setting next time, to save power and time when making green tea.  Show details

water dripped onto the electric switch. I sent an email to Dimplex and they said send it in. That was 5 weeks ago. I've been boiling water in a pot since I sent it in. I am told a replacement is on its way but I thought I'd share my experience.

Whistled twice then no more wft – I only heard the great whistle twice BOOOOOOOOO I can only hope I've touched a button or something. Any ideas on how I can fix it? Or possibly get a new one as I brought it online. I hope this is a good brand or next time I'm going for a cheap model  Show details

Leaks like a sieve! – Have had the kettle for about six months and today wated started leaking from the level indicator. Rather dangerous when dealing with electricity. Great Kettle with some drawbacks – Exceptional looking kettle, works great. Very stylish addition to my kitchen. The kids love the whistle which sounds like a World War Two bomb dropping on London. Unfortunately the bright red metallic colour appears to fade after extended use, it could just be where the kettle is placed(near the stovetop) As my bright red metallic toaster has not faded at all.
