Morphy Richards Aspect Kettle

Beautiful. Loud. Boils water – The design makes a statement and the titanium and 'wood' looks fantastic! It is kind of loud though. If you're looking for a kettle to make a quiet cuppa while the family sleeps then this probably isn't the one for you. The base has a large surface area so it boils reasonably quickly. The lid has a silicon seal and (while brand new at least) removing the lid is a two-handed affair. Replacing it is easy enough but does require a tiny bit of guess work to align it properly. The ring on top of the lid has plastic insulation so you can remove the lid straight after boiling. I find the absence of a hinge a bonus. I can rest easy knowing there's no complex plastic moving parts that will break 12 months after purchase.

The unit fits on to the base smoothly and securely and feels more sturdy than our previous kettle.

The water level window is behind the handle but can be viewed easily enough.

Some improvements I would like to see are:

1. An arrow or marker on the kettle itself to help align the lid when putting it back on (or a lid that doesn't have to face a certain direction).

2. Some how make it less noisy when in use.

3. I think a nice addition would be a little bell when it's done boiling and switches off but that's just my opinion :)

Overall I'm happy with it. Its our first kettle that costs more than $40 and we really only bought it for looks to go with our kitchen reno. It does its job (boils water) and although it was on sale, for this price it better last the distance!

Kettle is very noisy and slow to boil. Most disturbing is that recently when filling a baby's bottle with water from the kettle, tiny black particles were noticed. extreme noise of this kettle hasn't woken you up.

Reasons you may not have had your morning coffee: the thing takes SO LONG TO BOIL. Best light a camp-fire and pop the billy on, that would be faster.

Do not buy this kettle. Do not gift to anyone unless you don't like them very much (or you'd like them to think of you with a clenched jaw each time they stand waiting for it to boil).

The worst thing? It's built like a brick s***house so it will probably never die. SOS.

Looks amazing and works great!! – Bought it with the Scandi toaster and they both look amazing. Boils water promptly and off switch kicks in immediately. The outside of the kettle stays at room temp when the water boils which makes it easy to handle. Finishing is great Show details

Great kettle but leaks – I got the Scandi White Kettle from Flybuys about one year ago. It’s such a lovely looking kettle that isn’t very loud which is a major bonus. The only issue is, when filling the kettle to the max line, it will leak water all over the bench. I feel this is very dangerous. We now can only put a small amount of water in the kettle to boil. Don't buy – 1. The lid can come off easily while pouring. 2. The outter shell and top part of the lid can be overheated, keep away from kids! 3. Pricy in terms of design and functionality. Show details

Disappointed – I have had Morphy Richards Kettle before and very happy. I bought the scandi aspect online and even though not wrapped in the colour I will live with it. up like other kettles? Also when you lift the kettle because it is quite heavy you think it has got water in it but that is only the kettle and it is actually empty. Really loved my last Morphy Richards kettle so disappointed in this one.

Cannot pour – Due to the lack of spout, the only way to get a constant pour is to hold the kettle at a height (like one foot) above the vessel you are pouring into. Although it looks great, it’s the worst designed kettle I’ve ever used. Also very noisy  Show details

Horrible.Looks good,that’s it – First kettle needed replacement after 1month due to leaks. Have put up with the second kettle for about 6 months & can no longer stand the noise. We are constantly boiling water and the noise when close to boiling is such that we need to leave the room to use the phone. Off to Big W for a cheapie. Show details

Good kettle – Better than my older cheapo kettles that's usually loud and plasticy. This looks incredible and works well. The only thing is that the kettle gets really hot on the outside. Show details

Simply a statement item in a kitchen – It boils and is hard to determine kettle's water level behind handle but it not easy to handle and you need to careful not burn yourself because it needs to be a bigger spout. There is no safe way to fill it either and a steam engine is quieter than this. Sorry not a fan.  Show details

Disappointing – Kettle looks good but not functional. Very loud, noisy kettle which can be annoying when relaxing at home and catting to friends in the kitchen. There seems to be a design fault as great difficulty pouring water for a cuppa. looks great – It looks great but thats about where it stops . Its noisy compared to most kettles of similar comparison. The pouring spout is terrible it pools in the lid as you pour and you seem to need both hands to pour a drink. I would never get one of these again there's better options out there, it has been relegated to the shed.  Show details

can help me out. This is extremely worrying and someone could be seriously burnt by this major fault in this kettle.

Have finally got through to the customer service and will be returning the kettle today. I do wish for people to know of this fault to be aware before they purchase the kettle

Love! – My home is mainly scandi themed and it’s an open living planning so my kitchen is very visible, my kettle was the main thing that looked off with my decor! Strong Plastic taste never went away – Bought this kettle and toaster, followed guidelines about pre-use but water still tastes strongly of coffee. Harvey Norman replaced it for us, claiming it has happened before but should be one offs not a whole batch. New kettle does the exact same thing, which is really disappointing because it looks so beautiful!  Show details

Nice design – We bought this kettle from Qantas store Design is innovative and looms totally different from what you can get from other brands. Its been operational since last year and we have no issue with it. The only down side is you have to remove the lid each time to fill it unlike other ones that gives you the option of filling it through pouring nozzle.  Show details

Love this kettle! Functional & stylish – This kettle has been a great addition to our kitchen. It stylish but also has a great simple design. Just love how it looks! – The function is as normal as other kettles. No special function. But I feel it’s quieter when heating up the water, which is good! Some kettle make dramatic sounds from the moment you press down the button. Again, the price is fair and I love the look with timber at the bottom!  Show details

Good looking kettle – I bought this after reading the reviews. Works perfectly fine. Totally love the classy look. It makes my kitchen look nice :) The only problem i fee is the lid, which needs a bit of struggling to close. Handle separates from kettle under heat – Bought last week for a present for daughter along with matching toaster. It has been used a handful of times and the metal part of the handle has.buckled away from.the body of the kettle. Sleek Caffeine Machine – I love the Morphy Richards Aspect Kettle because it has a very modern sleek design and is such great quality. It may cost a little more but was definitely worth it. It has good volume capacity, heats up relatively quick and is quite quiet. It pours smoothly and makes a great cup of coffee. Stylish Kettle – Love my new grey kettle with timber look trim. Looks fabulous on the bench, too nice to hide in a cupboard. Its easy to clean and boils super quick. Have had lots of comments on how stylish it looks. My children have bought the matching toaster for me - looking forward to using it. Love it – This kettle and toaster get a work out with us. With a major coffee and tea drinker and kids that love toast for breakfast these can handle a family and more if needed to. Morphy Richards - This Kettle ticks all the boxes! – This one ticks all the boxes! It's very modern looking and the colour (grey) matches my kitchen beautifully, it's too good to put away in the cupboard. very attractive modern looking kettle – Large capacity and very nice to look at. Not keen on the spout as pours out to much water at once and the lid is not easy to secure. Would not advise if children tend to use it. Obviously not young ones but 11 upwards who may make a cut of tea for themselves.  Show details
