Awesome pram, perfect – Brought this for my tall 2 yr old and 8 month old and love it, my 2 yr old is 98th percentile for height and still has good room to grow, had previously owned a strider plus four but hated it, so big and bulky and HEAVY! sold that and brought the duo-wish I had brought this one first! Great to push fits both children with ease, the new models have… Read more · 1
the extra long mesh which is great! Fits through standard doors and big basket but hard to reach when seats are in recline, also bit of effort to lift into car but we usually walk from home! The velcro tabs on sun canopy are annoying as they make a noise when trying to look in at you sleeping baby, also wish they had done automatic lock once folded-little things it's almost perfect- all in all love this pram! sturdy, smooth, large sun canopys, adjustable handlebar bit on heavy side when lifting, velcro tabs noisy
Perfect large stable option for a family! – I had 3 children a year apart and love this pram. Yes it's big, it's heavy to get in out of car but it ticks a the boxes for me. I have travelled around the world alone with my 3 children through Thai forests and beaches, Cambodia, Europe and bondi junction lol. It's extremely manoeuvrable even with a child on the front, I could carry as much… Read more
shopping and luggage and it's never tipped sideways. At the shops even larger children could sleep comfortably with purchases on their laps! Equally easy to steer on and off road, one handed at shops or pulled behind on the beach! Walking with my large dog was a breeze as if he pulled a bit, the buggy being stable meant I never felt like losing control and so the mountain buggy helped me to continue a full and active Life despite not having a partner in the same country to assist. I had a small stroller for quick trips but rarey bothered Love love love Well constructed, Manoeuvrable, stable, carried children and anything else Hard to fit in a small car
Excellent pram, love it! – I use this pram for a baby and a toddler and I have to say I can't live without it! My children are tall and big and I would've preferred the Duet but I was afraid they would outgrow it too quickly. I was worried the side by side design would impede me but it really doesn't. Most places are wheelchair friendly an it fits through a standard door.… Read more
Yes, it is heavy and awkward to lift in and out of the car but this is a minor defect in my opinion. I just bought a cheap stroller to have in the car for those times I only need a single pram. To be honest however I mostly use my MB! I use it for jogging, trips to the library, park and also at the shopping centre. I haven't had any difficulty in a shopping centre, the pram can go anywhere a single or a trolley can. My 2
yo often wants to walk but she still gets tired
so it's very handy to have a seat for her. It's also handy when she throws a tantrum at cos I just strap her in! It's a fantastic running pram and I have lost heaps of weight pushing the 2 kids around. I would never have been able to do that if I had to walk at my toddlers pace! My major gripe with this
pram is that it lacks ventilation and can get quite stuffy. A peek a boo flap with gauze on the would side would be very handy. Also the strap adjustment is a pain though I
believe MB have fixed this in the new line.
These are minor inconveniences and the pros far outweigh the cons. I initially bought the MB plus one but I traded it for the Duo -
see my review of the plus one for further information. In my opinion the Duo is miles
better for a toddler and a baby. It is literally
2 prams in one. Maneuverability, two full sized seats for large children, more stable than a 3 wheeler with 2 kids, Lack of ventilation, fiddly strap adjustment
A comfortable outing for all – I have had the pram for a month and love it. I use this pram to walk to my local shops/libray/rsl and to take my 3yr old to day-care. My 1yr old an 3yr old both enjoy the pram. My 3yr old helps me push for a while them hops in for a ride. This pram is so easy to push around, so manoeuvrable and such a smooth ride for the kids and push for myself.… Read more
The separate sun-hoods are great and the extra mesh flip down keeps their face shaded from the sun. When the hood is being used my 1yr old does tend to stick his head forward to get a better look. Seat recline is easy to operate. Material bunches up when adjusting the seat forward but this is an easy fix, just hold onto the back rest an tuck the extra material behind it. I read about this complaint and jumped onto the Mountain Buggy website and found this easy solution. The website is very informative. Collapsing the pram is easy but a bit of force is required to use the strap provided to lock the pram in its folded position. I have to push down on the pram with my knee to be able to fasten the strap (attached to the bar near the sun-hoods) around the bottom bar. Large storage basket best accessed from either side. Such an enjoyable pram to push around. Is quite heavy - but you would expect that for a seat load of 50kg. Not a shopping centre pram, although I had no problem manoeuvring around the large department stores.Seating could be more upright. Force required to fold the pram. Awkward to access the storage basket from the back.
Perfect pram for joggin with 2 kids – So comfortable for walking and jogging outside. Great size seats for both kids and each seat can be reclined independently. The hoods can be adjusted independently also. Huge basket space down the bottom. Mountain buggy prams are such good quality (had a swift before this one) and so easy to use. very comfortable for toddler & very easy for me to push around outdoors a little heavy and bulky when folded up
Great walking or jogging pram for twins – I bought this pram when I had twins 30 months after my first child. The seats or bassinet options allow for newborn to school age children in either seat position. It is easy to push - even uphill with three children on board. The double bassinet optional accessory allowed the twins to readily settle to sleep side by side - which they did… Read more
happily until almost six months and starting to roll onto each other. My only gripe with the bassinet was that the sun shade would fall flat when changing angles to go up or down a gutter or steep hill.
The suspension is great over rough terrain and the steering is easily maneuverable with one hand, allowing the other to be free for a coffee, extra shopping bags or to hold onto a toddler. The pram feels very stable on four wheels, allowing for a toddler to climb in without assistance.
The dual and independent sun shades have greater coverage than older models, though these still don't protect lower legs or feet sufficiently. Five point harnesses have plenty of adjustment for height and girth.
With the addition of a MB Free Rider scooter I can easily go for longer walks with my now three year old. This can only be used with the seats partially raised, so wouldn't be possible with newish twins in lay flat configuration.
I bought the pram in 2011 during a promotion that included a spare set of seat slings. The seat covers are removable and able to be handwashed, so the second set are unlikely to be needed.
Despite the lightweight aluminum frame, the pram is still heavy to lift into the car boot at 17kg. You also need a long reach to grab from the front pivot point to rear axle so the pram doesn't unfold while you lift. Fits easily into larger SUV boot with wheels on, but would need wheels removed to store in a smaller car. I've now purchased a twin stroller to leave in the car for the daycare run and quick shopping trips. The MB is used for longer walks from home and is taken in the car for trips to the park, beach or when I know I'm going to want the better maneuverability and suspension.
Comes with a bottle holder and great lower basket storage, but additional standard storage at handle level would be appreciated. Easily maneuverable, great suspension, good value for money, best twin bassinet option available, good storage in undermount basket, seats can be handwashed, fits through standard doorway, better sun protection than older models, Free Rider scooter allows additional toddler transport without warranty concerns, bought with a bonus set of seat slings in 2011 promotion Heavy, need a long reach to be able to pick up folded pram to put in car, fittings are a bit cheaper and plasticky compared to older NZ made models, front wheel occasionally get caught on each other when when free wheeling if you reverse and then change direction to get around a tight corner
I'm in love! – Loved my single mountain buggy but needed a two seater. Didn't buy this one at first because it looked so big. bought an inline and three months later had to sell it because my legs kept hitting rear seat (I'm only 5foot 9). Bought this one and am in love all over again. It goes everywhere my single went. Maneuverable, easy to run with, durable,… Read more
easy clean, suspension is a dream, goes everywhere - all terrain, 85%of doors and checkouts - kids are comfortable, kids climb all over it wont tip over, carries sooooo much shopping, easy access to storage Needed an appropriately rigged muslin to prevent toddler being able to claw baby through gap between hood and pram frame.
