NAVC 525-WiFi = Don't bother – Atrocious piece of Chinese junk. Wi-Fi works when it feels like it, I have to delete the Wi-Fi connection from my phone and re find it anytime I want to connect, that's if the Wi-Fi is working today or gone on holiday.The generic instruction booklet leaves more questions unanswered than answered. Just don't bother, save a little longer and get a decent brand.

great video quality – I like that it is very compact and screen can setup to sleep, the camera alert and speed alert comes up even unit is in sleep. Only one issue was that I need to manually set the time zone when daylight saving was off, otherwise the school zone will come up one hours earlier.

One memory card after another – I thought it wasn't the Cam was faulty at the beginning. Apparently, a lot of dash cam do not work with Sandisc card very well, or should I say Sandisk aren't made for dash camera. Anyway, I tried different cards, then I realised I should've bought a different camera. What can I say??

Excellent camera but expensive and not heat tolerant – The crash camera was easy to install setup and operate. The video is excellent but I had issues with it not accepting some SD cards even though the cards were as specified. Went from excellent previous cam, down to a worthless piece of junk – Laser Navig8r Pro X - 818 Ultra High Definition 1296p - Terrible. Air raid sirens at every speed change. A previous limit may have been slower and you go over that limit to the signed limit, eg once 60km to now 70km, and you get an earful every time, unless you have volume turned down, or off, or the settings off, but what's the point? listen to music and be able to hear a warning, but not an air raid siren. No school zones picked up, many red light cameras not detected, many speed cameras not detected. I tried every setting on bump record and it didn't work (where my current laser cam does when selected to sensitive), I tried knocking it with my hand, and did nothing. I have the Crash Cam Pro, and it is excellent. It picks up changes of speed limits automatically, like temporary road works, and beeps to tell you every change, within a meter of the speed sign. Absolutely faultless. When I saw this new updated product, I jumped in excited, only to be let down the same day I installed. I tried a firmware update which it needed, but didn't fix anything. Laser have excellent product support, but I returned it a week later, no problems. In short, pick the Crash Cam Pro and leave this new rubbish alone, and just hope they make another product with same specs, minus the many problems with the Pro X. In the meantime, I'm buying another Crash Cam Pro for my rear windscreen.

It doesn't deserve even 1 star! This thing locked up 7 times on way home! Navig8r 818 pro uhd – This is utter rubbish. anywhere near 110km/h on the freeway the speedo just FREEZES.... after about 5 mins it "resets" then freezes at 0km/h rather than what it was frozen at before. It is nowhere near as good as the Navig8r Crashcam Pro which is a rebadge (sticker on bevel) Papago P2X which had more features and would only lockup occasionally. JUST DO NOT BUY THIS! It is a defective product and will give you nothing but grief. If you want to ignore the warning and try your luck (as I did) buy from a major retailer so you can take it back 2 days later (which is about as long as you will put up with it). If you buy one, make sure you take it on the freeway so you can watch it lockup before your return or "grace" period expires! TOTAL JUNK. Laserco you should remove this product from sale.

Navig8r 818 pro uhd – Do not buy this. Useless. Waste of $300 from Harvey Norman. Chews up SD cards. On my third card. First card sandisk lasted 1 hour. Second card sandisk high endurance for cameras lasted 2 hours. Transcend card was the best lasted 4hours. Sd cards stop working, I'm thinking is the unit that's the issue. Also for event recording on the fly,you can press a button. However this does not save the recording from a minute before it saves a recording from that point forward. So unless you are psychic another useless featureon this means you can't automatically save something that you want to preserve such as bad driving,near miss etc. Awful just awful . Horrendous waste of money.

Laser Navig8r Pro X - 818 Ultra High Definition 1296p – This Laser Navig8 Pro X 818 UHD 1296P dash cam will not turn on eveytime you turn on engine ignition. Some times it will, others times it won't. Why I don't know, but it should. Isn't a dash cam suppose to activate and start recording EVERY TIME the engine is turned on??? Footage is nice and clean and the wide, 165 Deg view is excellent. Other than that, this dash cam is just a piece of crap. As for the freeware Google Maps app to run the files, it just sits there, 'thinking' about it. Another piece of crap.

Would I recommend this camera? What do you think?

November 5th 2017 Update: This dash cam is better than ever

After de-bugging all the problems with this camera, this model is a work of art. It works so well, I take back all the negatives I said earlier. The image is clean crisp and in low light it does more than it says. I highly recommend this camera who is in need of a reliable, bug-free dash cam.

Absolutely Useless – I bought this cam as it was supposed to be the best by Choice Mag. Dont bother, it was terrible, didnt highlight much at all. I wont waste my time telling you everything but after a couple of weeks its screen halved and luckily i got my money back. I must thank Laser Co for being so easy to deal with , they were great.

Not good enough – I have bought this crash cam on the 17 December 2015 ... plenty of time to realise if it is a good product or not. I think it is way under standards. In between the video loop recordings there are at least 2 seconds ... one of my incidents was in that time frame and I have nothing to prove ... it becomes a nuisance. hopeless ... you hardly see the plate number at the car stopped in front of you at the traffic lights ... if not able to see the number of the car in front of you, what's the use? My computer has problems to playing the recordings ... etc.

Very poor quality – I bought this item in April 2015 and it keeps having connection problem, we are so disappointed with it. When we have time to speak to the supplier and been told that it has past the warranty period, what a shame!!! I feel so regret for buying this item, it's totally a waster of money.

If the unit gets warm (it is sitting on the windscreen in the sun) it will randomly turn on and off. Warning icons indicate most of the time it is not recording any video !

To add insult to injury despite being a super expensive unit it does not even come with a mounting bracket so make sure to add this to the total cost.

Finally the unit constantly reminds you just how useless it is - Each time the car is turned off the unit emits the strangest squawk !

Buy something else

Absolute Crap!!! – Camera started to self destruct. Something inside started to blow up and pushed the casing open. Even though the camera was only in the sun when driving and garaged all day and night. The battery life was also very poor. Nothing but trouble! Pathetic! Wish I never bought one!!! If you are considering buying one of these, I would def look elsewhere!!

Just Pain In The Rear End – I purchased one of these units in May 15 and to December 15 it had been back to Laserco 5 times do to: buttons no longer working, not recording, major delay in speed camera warnings, won't pick up speed signs. I will return this product and buy a unit that keeps working. Save yourself some problems and don't by this one!

WHAT SD CARD TO USE – I haven't been able to use my unit yet as it comes up with "Memory Error". I purchased a 32gig class 10 card as per the instruction manual. This product is deplorable. Waste of money – Camera fell apart and clips broke all along the top of the camera. Chooses when it records, I've seen the Record button on numerous times but when I went back to find footage it hadn't actually recorded anything. Next camera I buy for in car will not be a Navig8r product. Please heed my warning opt for something else.

love the verbal warnings of speed cameras; the speed sign recognition; the drive off remider; and the quality of the recordings on the computer giving lots of data about location mapping speed and velocity forces. If your unit has a problem take it back and get another one!

Be Aware – Read the manual before you decide to purchase. The unit will go out of service if the temperature inside the car is over 30c. This temp is easily reached with the unit stuck to the windscreen. a day over 25c. If you try to shade it with foil insulation it will stay on longer but the GPS can't find enough signal to run the speedo. I had to purchase three SD cards before I found one slow enough to be used in this unit, using the info in the manual. If the card isn't "suitable" they can't guarrantee it will work properly and in my case it didn't. I couldn't recommend this unit for use in South Australia unless you only used your car in the dead of winter. In fact it's probably not worth having anywhere in Australia at any time. The features are great, if you can keep it turned on.

person suggested I upgrade to Navig[8]r Crash Cam FHD1080P the unit has been great except for the battery life, the unit will only last for 1 hour maximum while plugged in to the cigarette lighter, then when the battery gets low will keep trying to turn off and back on every few minutes. Very annoying. Image pretty good on playback Battery Life very poor 1 hour from fully charged and plugged into the cigarette lighter.
