I purchased a Navman MiVue Kube dashcam and realised that all controls are on the wrong side. This item is more suited for use in America or any other place with Left Hand Drive vehicles and not in Australa. The connection point, control button and the indicator LED are all not visible to the driver and only visible to the front passenger. The LED indicates what mode it is in (Charging, Recording, WiFi, Error etc) but the driver wouldn't see any of it. The unit is a permanent fix to the windscreen and can't even be removed to have look from Driver Seat.

When you are viewing the video on the Mobile App, you can't go the part of the video you want quickly. You have to sit through the whole video until the part you want. You can't fast forward or go to the section by sliding the curser. If you try to move to the area quickly, it will jump to the beginning of the video again. This could be a software issue but it is still a problem until fixed.

Time to time it stops working and asks to reformat the SD Card. That means all records are deleted. This is risky as it could happen at the critical time without warning. When I contacted Navman about this problem, I was asked to try different branded cards. That means I need to buy more cards with more expenses without even knowing whether it will work. I was using Sandisk High Endurance card.

All in all not happy with the product.

Hi Peppercorn, Thank you, we appreciate your time in providing feedback. the MiVue Kube is designed to be mounted in two positions (either on your windscreen or on your dashboard) and includes a setting to flip the video to suit the alternative mounting. because of this, for some customers the buttons may be on the opposite side.

in relation to the SD card, this is correct. formatting does wipe all previously recorded data. the device is designed to verify the condition of the card, and if it notices issues, it will prompt you to format. We do not recommend using SanDisk High Endurance SD cards, as we have found over the past 20 years of making dash cams that they can be highly unreliable, and SanDisk will routinely change the firmware on the SD cards, which can cause many different issues.

If you wish to stick with SanDisk, we do recommend using their Max endurance SD cards, which are made to higher tolerances, and last much longer. you may also look here for more SD card types, which we have tested and confirmed compatibility with. external link

Kind Regards, The Navman Team
