Have been using a new Nectre Mega for over 3 weeks now. It does an outstanding job of heating a large space. It lights easily and once going takes big logs easily and still haven't had to empty ash, so much less work than any smaller fire I've had. One question: it does seem to smoke up the room whenever I'm starting it up or adding wood though I follow the vent suggestions in the manual. I'm using very well seasoned hardwood and avoiding using ceiling fans at start up to avoid creating draughts into the room. Any suggestions are welcome, thank you.

Hi again, I thought I'd posted a follow up but obviously didn't. The smoking issue was resolved. Some big logs that I thought were completely dry from recent rains were not. Issue resolved by sitting them on the hearth overnight, no fault of the heater at all.

Wow, Just bought a 34 sq house with the Nectre mega. This thing is amazing. I ran 2 sq ft of timber through it in 6 hours, shut it down at 9:30pm, still had red embers at 5:30pm the next afternoon. Great heat and very economical on wood, heats the whole house far better than i expected.

No regrets – This heats our 2 story house with ease. It chokes well overnight, and retains it’s heat very well. Pedestal fan is getting a little noisy now, but I guess expected. Bought it 11 years ago, and still love it.

Great radiant heat, heats up two storey home very well. Easily does overnight burns – After doing minimal research and changing my mind on a Lopi wood heater, I visited my local wood heater dealership in Glendale and just asked for an Australian made large wood heater. Without hesitation I was advised to go for the Nectre Mega. We went for the legs over the pedestal heater on just personal preference. No fan. The heater looks good, heats up a two storey house very well and easily does overnight burns. Now that I start my fires using top down, use smart burns and have become familiar with the Mega’s air controls, I tend to the heater a lot less and use less wood for more heat. Overall very happy with the Nectre Mega in our second Winter season with this heater.
