Best stove ever – Fantastic stove, gives out a great heat, has changed our lives! Extremely easy to light, lasts all night if stoked before bed.Virtually no emptying. We own 2 Morso stoves (we live in Tasmania )but the Nectre is by far the easiest and most efficient to run. Show reply

Don't recommend this at all – I don't recommend this fireplace. I bought it based on the reviews but they are all over 12 mths old so maybe something changed with the fireplace. I definitely don't get 7 hrs burn time out of it or even the 11 mentioned by another reviewer. It looks great but it is so small the fire doesn't last past about 1 hr before you have to reload it. I… Read more

bought a trailer load of dry iron bark timber so I know its not the wood that's the issue I bought the trivet for the top but it doesn't get hot enough to really cook anything on it. If I close the flue it goes out so its constantly roaring with the flue open. It takes atleast 2 hrs to warm our lounge which is smaller than the declared room size it heats, so if you want the room warm faster than that you have to leave the door open.

You can't fit more than 2 logs in there with sticks so really its pointless if you want a fire to burn for a few hours. If you put more logs in you can't fit small sticks to keep it burning so it goes out and smokes.

I loaded it just before 7pm and by 9pm it has burned through the firewood and cold again, that's with the door closed and the flue partly open so it didn't go out and smoke.

Oh and if it does smoke the smoke comes out the back somewhere into the house

Get something else if you want a fire than warms your lounge for more than 1 hr

Pumps out the heat! – We installed our Nectre N15 in an open fireplace of our Hobart home at the start of winter in 2023. It's located in a small room approx 12m2 off the main living area, and it heats SO much better than that open fireplace that was there previously. Despite its small size, it really pumps out the heat once it gets going, and heats the rest of the… Read more ·  1

house as well which has been an added bonus. Heat regulation is easy and effective - just a twist of the air intake makes it quick and simple to raise or lower the temperature and adjust the burn time (although you'll need to use a glove or towel to adjust the air intake valve when it's heated up.) The build quality is fantastic, and the handle mechanism makes it easy to open and close the door, especially when it's hot. Overall we are really pleased with the purchase, and would highly recommend this heater and brand to anyone. The picture attached is just after installation, but we've painted the exposed metal and concrete since then to make it look a bit better. Pity the old fireplace wasn't exactly level - but we don't mind that it's slightly off!

Good unit – Liked the price. Good recommendation from installer. Does what's required. Wondering if we should have got larger unit but generally unconcerned. Size suits the room and it is only being used in the cooler months, so is both heater and feature. Show details ·  1

Good Australian made wood fire – We have only had the wood fire for a short time its replaced an older Norseman fire. It's a good heater, well made, burns well max 11 hours burn on low with good embers to restart easily and it looks beautiful. However there are drawbacks easily fixed by Nectre. 1- the door handle gets very hot as is expected what is not expected is how easily… Read more

the spring moves to the side allowing you to be burnt by the internal rod. It's hard to avoid getting a minor burn. The spring handle only need to be a bit more robust.

2- The airflow control/damper gets very hot as per the warning in the manual, this is fine as the fire place comes with a little tool to turn the knob. DO NOT USE THIS just throw it away and get heat proof gloves. The tool scratches the paint off the neat little knob easily. Nectre should have included a little silicon slip to go over the end of the tool.

  Woodstacker

Love my Nectre! – I had the Nectre 15 Woodstacker installed in summer last year. I was going to get the Nectre with legs, but chose the Woodstacker instead, as the firebox itself is higher so I don't have to bend down as far. I also don't need a wood basket due to the inbuilt wood storage, and that's just perfect as my place is small. I have only used it a few… Read more ·  1

times but it has kept us warm and cosy. I also purchased the trivet too, so I can make soup or whatever, for when we lose power. It's Australian made - not a cheap import, so what's not to love?

What a beast on a heater – Puts out heaps of heat only realer need to run it on the lower output settings I only get around 7-9hour overnight burn with the wood I use. It is so easy to light with all the are coming in through the door. The top of the heater could be use to heat food on haven’t tried it yet. Keeps my shack at a nice 22-27 on low output / best burn times (… Read more ·  1

a side form fully shutting it down) if I leave it on high output I need to open sliding door to let some cold air in if I leave it running on that stetting for over 1.5 hours when the place is already warm.

I am glad that I chose to buy this little Nectre n15 to heat my area and I would definitely recommend it to others as I feel that it is one of the better heaters on the Australian market that is Australian made.
