I would really like to know why you won't bring spacefood sticks back. There has never been anything else like them or that even comes close. I am not alone in thinking this. Nearly every person I speak to about this says exactly the same thing. Why are these not available anymore, anywhere? What are our chances of seeing these back on our shelves? Gone way to long now and still nothing out there anywhere that comes near them. A missed market. I don't think you would ever be sorry, I think it would be a excellent idea to remake these. Janine

Nestle

Hi Janine, the decision to stop making one of our products is never an easy one and it's never made lightly as we know there will be loyal fans even years later. As you can imagine, factors such as declining sales, retail space and new products being launched (so that we can offer variety in our range) can often result in us having to discontinue products. Whilst we have no current plans to reintroduce this product, we'll be sure to share your feedback with our Marketing team and we hope you’ll continue to enjoy other products in our range.

Awww wow discontinued u must b joking. My kids grew up with these n still do so even though they r 28 n 26 years. U need to get rid of some other product so this one can cm back to the shelf. U have no idea how many ppl r huge fans of the infamous Space Food sticks. Bring them back!!!!

Jodie B.
Jodie B.

Why were these discontinued when there are plenty of other products in your range that could disappear from the shelves that only a minority would notice and very few would miss. Unlike these. There are so many people wanting these back. The online requests for this to happen only represents about 2% of the consumer market wanting these back on the shelves.

There is literally nothing like them, as for declining sales I find that hard to believe u just have to see the groups missing them and wanting them back on Facebook and other forums to know that is crap.. so many new products launched are rubbish junk that have heaps of the exact same thing.. as for retail space ? if u get rid of the many dupe products they have there would be plenty of room.. just last year I was talking to one of the young guys on the checkout at the supermarket and was saying how much I miss them and he said he pretty much gets comments weekly from customers wanting them back..

HG I.

Exactly well said these were so immensely popular back in the day. I have a whole generation of friends that miss them dearly. It's seems like most companies when they have a brilliant product they stop making them. Go figure.

Please bring back Space Food Sticks. It seems that all Australians want to see them back on the supermarket shelves. I hope you have sacked the marketing executive responsible for discontinuing them.

Please bring back space food sticks, I genuinely don’t care about whether it’s healthy or NAFNAC or any of that, you could charge us $10 a pack and if they taste the same as they used to, I would buy them!!! What considerations are going into bringing them back?

It’s a cover up, they don’t wanna say why we can’t recreate to try and hide how unhealthy these things are. However, I do not care about the bad and unhealthy side to this amazing snack therefore you should tell us the recipe.

You can’t say that these might not be as good as I remember and you would be wrong, my brain doesn’t make stuff up. Meaning I know exactly how they would taste. And they would still taste as good as kibble to a puppy.

Thankyou

Harry S.
Harry S.

Why didn’t nestle reply to me. I raised very fair points. Maybe because I’m right and they are just too scared to admit. Either way, I’m very hungry now and I know that with a space food stick in my hand, I would be satisfied immensely. Without doubt.

Love you x Harry

Nestle
Nestle   DM

Hi Harry, as we have mentioned in other comments, we made the tricky decision to discontinue this product based on declining sales and popularity, retail shelf space and to make way for new products. Sadly we don’t currently have plans for Space Food Sticks to return, but thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. Our space food sticks can not be recreated with readily accessible ingredients in a home kitchen, so we aren't able to share a recipe at this time .

Richard S.
Richard S.

If Nestlé will not be re-releasing Space Food sticks, then why not release the recipe so people can make their own at home.......and no garbage about it being too difficult. People can print food nowadays......it's the 21st century.

Nestle
Nestle   DM

Hi Richard, we appreciate that there will always be some loyal fans. Space Food Sticks can’t easily be replicated in a household kitchen although we’re sorry you’ve been missing them. At this time, we don’t have plans for Space Food Sticks to re-join our range, although we’ll be sure to share your feedback with our team.

Easy to make, flour, water, sugar, milo or choc powder, make a dough , and steam[put the dough in to a bowl ,put bowl in to a pot with some water in the bottom and boil/stem for 10 minutes], then cut into squares.

Have you thought of releasing them as twin packs instead of box? They are really handy when camping or hiking as a snack, and the chocolate removes the blandness of other energy bars.

Hi April, We've seen quite a number of products come and go over the years, and we appreciate hearing from fans of our these past products. Spacefood sticks were originally designed by NASA so this isn't a simple product to make, and unfortunately couldn't be replicated in a household kitchen setting.

While we have no current plans for a comeback, we hope you discover a new favourite among our current range or products, and we join you looking back fondly but also with excitement and anticipation for the new products yet to come!

P.S: You might like to check out our snacks products over at UNCLE TOBYS external link

Space Food Sticks were NOT originally designed by NASA; what a complete load of nonsense. If you're going to lie, at least make the lie believable, especially on the Internet where people can quickly go and find out that you are LYING. What could possibly be so difficult in the manufacture of a food that was first produced in the 1960's??? Are you SERIOUSLY trying to tell us that FIFTY YEARS LATER you can't produce these with modern equipment? There's nothing special or complicated about the ingredients or the manufacturing process. We live in an age when people pay huge amounts of money for protein bars, and other products in the same category, so stop LYING, especially when these things were produced again in 2019 to commemorate the 50 year anniversary of landing on the Moon. If you want to keep customers then the best thing to do is be HONEST with us, because your LIES do NOT inspire us to buy your other products, they inspire us to BOYCOTT your products...

I too want this back. All well and good to say 'Hope you discover a new favorite' at the end of the day this was our favorite and we want to see it return. It would have helped sales if the product was put on shelves where people could see them. At times when I tried to find them they were tucked away hiding on the bottom shelf.

Nestle!!! Cant you at least do a come back trial. Its been done with many other 80s foods like TOOBS etc. Im sure you will be shocked at your profit margin. So many parents and adults will buy them. You know the saying If it aint broken dont fix it. It was a top selling product. So just do a trial come back at least.
