understood the reason and I agree that whatever is in this new formula, it has completely ruined it. It's really frustrating.

total opposite - far too drying and burns the skin around my nose and mouth. It's frustrating because I had used this cleanser for years and must now find something new. Pleeease listen to your customers Neutrogena and bring back the original Extra Gentle!

I would give 0 stars if possible – I decided to divert from using my deep clean face wash to something that would be a little more gentle on my skin as neutrogena's deep clean face wash was too drying on my skin. decided to use cheaper ingredients to cut costs. Greedy! I have never had acne before in my life and this stuff caused me to break out severely. I will never use any of your products again and will encourage others to do so as well.

Terrible change in ingredients – I’ve used this cleanser for years and now the company changed it and added chemicals that burn my skin. Used to be able to use it over eyelids and now it’s horrible. Why would they change it. Please bring back original formula. There’s no other product that compares.

New formula is terrible – It used to be a creamy and gentle cleanser - now, it’s rough as guts on my skin. There is nothing else I’ve found that comes close to the old formula, so I’m really stuck now with what to use. Needless to say, I won’t be buying this again - I’ve already turfed it.

We hate the new formula !!!! – Have been using the old formula for a long time, also my daughter started using it and loved it. WE HATE the new formula, it stings the eyes and skin and is not effective in cleansing. Please bring back the original and I will start buying it again....

Agree with others: new formula sucks – I can only echo what others have said. One can only assume Neutrogena don't bother reading reviews of their products or they would have left this cleanser alone rather than reformulating it. Bring back the old formula - please!!! – Sadly, Neutrogena have changed the formula - for the worse. It now stings the eyes - the old formula was THE BEST - cleansed all makeup painlessly. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA. I won't be using the new one.

Not so good – Doesn't work as good as other cleansers. What really puts me off is that it has the smell and consistency of Clag. Ended up throwing most of it away. Looks like it may have been discontinued though?

Great – I was recommended this cleanser by my dermatologist as I started to get late on set acne. I have been using it for over a year now and it is brilliant. It is easy to apply thanks to the pump which comes on the bottle, giving just the right amount for a face wash. It leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed, with no irritation. Ease of use Might expect it to foam but it stays like a cream

Terrible – My skin is dry and sensitive, and reacts to most cleansers I have tried. This Neutrogena one is supposed to be gentle, however after a few days of use I notice congestion and small breakouts. but not sensitive skin. I still use it when my skin is dry but only occasionally, and wash it off quickly after application. The product smells nice, efficient pump bottle. Doesn't later, skin doesn't feel clean after.

Excellent – I have being using this product twice a day for about two years now and absolutely love it. I first brought this product in the hope that their claim that this cleanser was gentle and fragrance free was accurate. It was. product does just that. I also love the way it foams up when you rub it in. I would't use anything else on my skin. Fantastic for sensitive skin. Easy to use pump action bottle.

Good – perfect for a low cost fix for skin with problems such as derma and exma or dry skin... speaking from personal experience... gentle cream, doesnt irriate at all
