Product works well. Had a few issues with the battery but called Nextbase and they told me to take out and charge which fixed the issues straight away. Apparently, the battery doesn't always get a full charge while driving so you need to take is out and plug it into you home power for an hour. Tried this and it's worked perfectly since. Show details

Waste of money. Battery life is non existent. It doesn’t connect to the app. Half the time I can’t watch or download the videos I need to without wasting 45 minutes trying to get it to connect to the app. It doesn’t adjust lighting so the videos are either too bright during the day or too dark at night. Do NOT buy one of these Show details

Ease of Use

Avoid - completely unreliable recording that puts you at risk – This camera does not reliably record and you risk missing crucial footage that could prove your innocence in any claim against you. I've had days and days of missing footage and lots of glitches resulting in un-recorded footage. Had this for just over 12 months. It was glitchy from the outset. It seemed to settle down but a few times I pulled the… Read more

card and found huge gaps of missing footage. I swapped the card for one in my other brand dashcam. Same issue so it's not the cards (Sandisk High Endurance - specifically for dashcams). Nextbase recommends their branded memory cards for the best performance. Their cards are at least 3 x the price of cards from industry leaders (e.g. Sandisk) which is again, ridiculous and are just re-branded cards from said industry leaders. I noticed the camera battery wasn't holding charge. I've done a battery test per Nextbase instruction and it's definitely perished. This is a very good reason to only choose dashcams that use 'supercapacitor' batteries rather than the common Li-ion batteries. To add more negatives, Nextbase recommends that the memory card be reformatted every 2-3 weeks to ensure it records smoothly and reliably. What the Actual..? That is so unacceptable in a product that you need to rely on to be 'set and forget'. I have a Navman dashcam and a Laser Corporation dashcam in our other family cars. They record perfectly, reliably and I've never been required to format the cards on a regular basis. So disappointing given this brand's supposed reputation in the dashcam market.

Positives: footage is good quality. The packaging and 'getting started' instructions are clear although detailed instructions are only available online. Included accessories are good. It is 2 channel capable (i.e. you can buy and attach a rear camera). There is also an option for a rear camera unit that attaches directly onto the dashcam, saving you the hassle of working a cable all the way to the back of the car, although the view will necessarily be from the front windscreen looking back through the car and could be blocked by rear seat passengers and luggage.

Appalling Connection Software – The actual dash cam is very good and takes excellent video. The Nextbase software that you need to access the recordings on your dash cam from your phone is appallingly bad. The software is meant to connect easily to the dash cam, show you all the recordings and allow you to download to your phone - the problem is that the connection option is… Read more

almost useless and if you are super lucky after multiple attempts it just might connect - the advice from the vendor is to delete everything and try again which is ridiculous and makes no difference. We purchased an SD card reader and take the SD card out of the camera if we need a recording. I would not buy this brand again.

Battery Power – Good quality video and audio. Had some problems with the inbuilt LiIon battery and the unit had to be replaced under warranty. Good mounting system and easy to install software Show details
