Nikon Coolpix S3500

OK for patient shooters – The added of special touch features is a pain, I disabled it due to all other softwares on your computer are a lot better than what Nikon offered. It also slowed down the camera to more than 10 seconds each frame, it is impossible to use when in average daily shooting, you need to shoot one after another. Resolution of photos are OK, good in general, even in bad lighting, it still can handle if not too dim
Video quality is poor once you start zooming, the quality is not too bad if you don't zoom.
Camera only for use in maximum best condition.

YOu get what you pay for – I got this as a refurbished unit cost me around 70 dollars. Can't complain its good for a quick snap not much chop for panorama or macro but of for party shots and general stuff. For landscap I would say my wifes tablet does a better job but a tablet is big and awkward. Okay for the money if you can get it cheap
Good Value for the Money – Beeing a disabled photographer, I needed a very light camera. I have used camcorders for the last 6 yrs but found they packed up after the warranty expired.I searched ebay for cameras and found many unknown brand 16 megapixel cameras around $100 .The fact the Nikon S3500 was 20.1 megapixels.was a bonus. I searched through many reviews of many camera and finally decided on the S3500.
It takes very good quality photos but the shutter speed is slow and it sometimes took a few seconds before you could take another photo. It also has a few to many special effects for me as but these would be good for those without photoshop.. The fact that this camera was $83 delivered to my door was great. price, takes quality photos, the 7x optical zoom lens, brand name not full hd video, zoom cant be used on video, had to get a carry bag from overseas,
SLOW – I have never written a review on a product before but I felt like I need to let any mums out there know "Don't buy this Camera"! Don't get me wrong it took excellent clear pictures but the problem was about a 10 second delay from taking a picture to being able to take the next one. And any mum knows that if your trying to get the kids to sit still for photos a 10 second delay is not good. What if your trying to get your kids blowing out their birthday candles and you miss you need to wait a whole 10seconds before you can take another. I think the Camera is good for older people but just not for mums. I really hope this review helps anyone out there reviewing it before they buy it, which is what I should have done. it did take nice clear photos A really long 10second delay between shots...Not Good
So I bought one of these. To speed up the delay between the shots, you need to TURN OFF "QUICK EFFECTS"
Excellent value, Quality photos – I needed a camera for an overseas trip. I have been through half a dozen digital cameras and they all seemed to give up the ghost after their warranty ran out. I was sick of the quality of phone cameras. I was prepared to pay considerably more for a camera that produced good quality images but not too much as I dont expect it to last more than 12 months plus 1 day. My budget was about $200. Strangely the reviews suggested that the image quality from a s3500 was as good as cameras $100 more expensive. Sounded a little odd but I took a punt.
The quality of the photos were sensational. With the 20MP the image quality even coped with blow ups and cropping which is critical for party shots (there is always a goose in the background you have to crop out). The added bonus is that indoor shots in reasonable light were excellent even without the flash. There is a half second delay on the shutter but that is common even in the more expensive cameras. Its a bit of a teens camera with all the editing effects you can add, which I ignore, but it has one feature that is invaluable, image stabilisation. I love the fact that you do not have to remove the battery for charging. This is the first camera that I have had where you simply plug the USB cable into its transformer or a USB port in the car. On a few occasions I must have overcharged the battery by using the wrong transformer which caused the camera to lock up for about 24 hours. If you are not a professional and just want a camera you can take anywhere and will produce quality you will be proud of, this is a steal at a little over $100. Price, 20 MP Image quality, no special battery chargers. Too many pointless photo editing features.Leave that to Photoshop.
