The Ice cream maker is quite noisy to start with. The paddle/blade started giving problems just outside warranty whereby the blade would not stay attached to the spindle and would fall into the ice cream. This is poor design and if not for a Reddit user posting a solution, I would have ended either throwing out the product or an expensive repair.… Read more

Solution: Attach a 5mm (diameter) x 2mm Neodymium magnet to the base of the inside of the paddle and it works. Magnets cost about $5 for a pack of 8-10.

Zero customer service. My ninja creami stripped out the blade leaving metal shavings in the food. I have sent 3 seperate emails requesting customer support and received confirmation replies so they have received them, yet here we are 3 and a half weeks later with zero contact. I have tried calling twice, both times the robot stated a 3 minute wait… Read more

but after being on hold for 25 minutes the robot said now no one is available and to leave an email contact. Never again Edit, after another week in mediation Ninja has still not responded in any way shape or form

When this works, it makes good ice cream, frozen yoghurt etc. The issue is that every single time I go to use it, I get an install error message and have to power on and off 2 or 3 times before it clears and decides to actually work, having changed nothing from what I did the first time. This is a known issue but ninja just keep selling it without fixing it. Don't waste your cash on an expensive item like this that isn't properly functional.

The Ninja Creami has been both a delight and surprise. I expected the machine to be very noisy after reviews on youtube, but found it comparable to the noise of my Thermomix. I made a lychee sorbet with a tin of lychees and juice. It came of the freezer as a block of ice, the machine was stable on my benchtop, it was not burdened. The Ninja Creami… Read more

worked like a dream. I have made many other icecreams and sorbets from recipes in the book, online, you tube etc and all have worked out and been demolished by my family, it is fool proof so long as you don't go over the line (including when frozen, if a peak forms, remove it). If the contents comes out powdery you can remix for a creamier texture, I had to do this a few times.

Pros - Great motor, doesn’t get that electrical smell from being overworked - Stable - Set and forget, it takes a few minutes to prepare, 24 hours to freeze, and a few minutes max to let the Ninja creami do its job - The recipe book is well put together and easy to follow - The recipe book has a multitude of recipes - Online fb community - It does the job and it does it well - Much healthier than shop bought ice-cream - Great for people with intolerances – for instance I make cookies and cream for a coeliac and I don’t think such exists on the market. I also have made dairy and soy free – both easy with coconut milk or sorbets - Cleaning is easy, this model is handwash only. The paddle comes out easily.

Cons - This machine is heavy and tall, it is a bit cumbersome to be bringing in and out of the cupboard each time. I have left it on my benchtop though as we have had ice-cream or sorbet every day since purchased despite being winter - The machine is noisy, but also comparable to other kitchen appliances - Hard to register for warranty, I did the QR code on the warranty page and it led me to the fb group

Delicious ice cream like a McFlurry – This machine is amazing. Ninja nails their products every single time. We loved it so much we upgraded to the creami deluxe. Everything we have made so far is delicious. Super simple. Our fav is half a can of condensed milk, fill the rest with whatever milk you like to the max line, TBS of Pudding mix. Freeze overnight and it’s ready to spin on… Read more

ice cream setting the next day. Add your mix ins and it’s just like a McDonalds McFlurry. The iced chocolate is also delicious, frappe style. Ours gets used every day. Also just a tin of pineapple and the juice, freeze overnight and its whips up so soft and fluffy. Nothing else added to it.

Excellent for small quantities – My ice creams turned out delicious, but they're best when mixed and served immediately, which isn't great for hosting parties—unless you buy loads of those. They aren’t cheap to purchase. So fantastic for making small quantities, not ideal for large quantities Show details

Burning – Second machine I’ve had and has blown up again, started burning. So not safe, I thought I was just unlucky with the first but surely there’s an issue. Show details

Nearly caught in fire – I think this product should be recalled and a stop sale order done. Like others, my one almost started a fire, there was smoke and the blade was all fused, chared black including the part where it attaches to the motor. I think this is a design flaw of how the blade attaches to the machine. I think the government should step in and issue a recall Show details

Waste of money – Waste of money, ice cream was either too icy or too creamy. I tried all the recipes on the internet, no go. Just buy your bad ice cream and eat less.

So glad we bought it – I'd heard so much about the Ninja Creami and about how you can make great alternatives to sugary sorbets and heavy creamy ice cream, delicious as they are you don't want to be really eating those all the time. So I ventured out and bought one and I'm so happy I did. It produces delicious healthier sorbet & ice cream from things like tins of… Read more

fruit salad in juice. Have a look at Chef AJ for recipes on YouTube .

A new favourite has been the Goulburn Valley Peaches in Mango nectar; pop it i blender first, then out in ninja creami pot and freeze for 24 hours. One thing that isn't mentioned enough is that there's usually a high spot in the center of the frozen product, it's best to scrape that down level with a desert spoon prior to spinning.

I used the light ice cream button for the first spin. Add a desert spoon of yoghurt and do a second spin.

And as a bonus it has a very easy cleanup too. Very weight watcher friendly according to the ingredients you use.

Pic I've added was the tin of fruit salad in juice. I've also done the recipes from the Plant Based Cooking show on YouTube that have worked out really well.

YUM at the press of a button – OK - the belt needs another notch but so what - as Scomo would say "How good is Ice Cream!". This is definitely one of those kitchen gadgets you won't regret buying. It works just as advertised and the possibilities are truly endless. Love making protein powder blends or 'adult' ice-cream with your favorite poison to lower the freezing point and make it a bit softer. Show details

Make your own dairy, non-dairy, vegan ice-creams, sorbets and more – I love frozen desserts and have a sweet tooth but I’m lactose intolerant and shouldn’t eat ice cream. Supermarket alternatives aren’t great, plus they’re expensive. I came across the Ninja Creami by accident and I’m glad I did. This is a solid, well made machine, and all the parts click together smoothly. It comes with 3 freezer tubs, but you… Read more

can buy more. If you read the instructions, follow the basic recipes, and then use your imagination for ingredients you can’t go wrong. For most recipes you put the ingredients in a bowl, whisk until combined, pour them in the freezer tub and freeze for 24 hours. After that you put the tub in the machine, choose the pre-set that suits your ingredients and off it goes. The Ninja Creami comes with a recipe book to suit most tastes, with full dairy and sugar options plus a helpful list of substitutes. For my first mix I used what I had in the cupboard - a can of coconut milk, cocoa powder, some elderflower cordial for a sweetener as I had no sugar or stevia, and I topped it up with soy milk. Amazingly this mix was delicious, and came out like chocolate gelato! I’ve done photos of my 'one ingredient sorbet' made from a tin of lychees - and it’s so refreshing I'll definitely make it again. NB: I like Ninja products, as I’ve had a Nutri Ninja Slim for 8 years and use it almost every day with no worries. They have spare parts for their products, and a big online presence with loads of recipes.

Make your own ice cream without all the added gums, thickeners and other weird colours and numbers – This ice cream machine is pretty awesome. I was hesitant, everyone saying so loud, but it's not that bad! Make your own ice cream from simple ingredients. If you read the labels on any ice cream in the supermarket, you will see all now contain guar gum. I do wonder why this has been added across the board to ALL ice cream. As I understand to stop… Read more

ice cream from becoming "icy". Not great for gut health. Just Google that and you'll find out all about it upsets the gut micrbiome. So making my own ice cream to avoid more gut issues and avoid eating any of these ice creams. I recommend this machine to make healthier options. The respin option is amazing. Be prepared to freeze in advance (24 hrs). Great recipe book included. Loads of recipes also on YouTube.

A Gelataria in my kitchen – I bought the Creami on my sister’s glowing recommendations and am very pleased that I did. We’d been using freeze-the-bowl-first ice cream makers for over 2 decades, but lately have never had the freezer space to freeze the bowl! So, no homemade ice cream. The Ninja Creami solved this completely as you freeze the ice cream mix in the small… Read more

(approx half-litre) tubs then snap the tubs into the holder and onto the machine to churn (or “creamify” in Ninja-speak) frozen mix into ice cream. How revolutionary!

The machine came with 3 lidded tubs, and since the Creami arrived, all 3 are in the freezer - half eaten, churned and ready to eat, or waiting to be churned. Also in the box was a quick start guide and a recipe booklet, which was a good source of ideas. Ideas also abound in the internet.

A couple of things to note are: - you will need kitchen bench space for the Creami as it is tall (abt 41 cm). At its widest, it’s about 16.5 cm and it’s about 27.5 cm deep.

- it is VERY LOUD for the few minutes it is churning. Not recommended to use this too early or too late in the day.

- it makes small amounts. The small tubs offer 3-5 servings (depending on the size of servings) are perfect for my small family, as we don’t get bored and can make/try more flavours.

- note the Maximum fill line in the tub. Churning expands the mixture to fill the tub to the brim (see photo of un-churned strawberry ice cream vs. churned mango ice cream )

- as with all non-compressor ice cream machines, you’ll need some pre-planning. The Creami recommendation is to freeze the ice cream mixture for 24 hours. However I’ve found that as long as the mixture is frozen solid it’s ready to churn. Starting with cold ingredients can cut freezing time down to 7-10 hours.

The biggest pro of a home ice cream maker for me is that I can control what goes into my ice cream unlike buying store bought. Any ice cream, gelato or sorbet recipe can be scaled down to fit the Creami tub. You can also tweak recipes to anything you want or need for dietary restrictions.

In the 2 weeks we’ve had the Creami, we’ve made 7 flavours including honey, Baileys, fresh mango & Rum, dark mixed berries with raspberry Bacardi, dark chocolate & Frangelico, fresh. strawberry and fresh mango. The fruit flavours were simply 2/3 puréed fruit sweetened with honey and mixed with 1/3 fresh cream. The gelato flavours used a Sicilian gelato custard base thickened with cornstarch (strain the cooked mixture through a fine sieve into the Creami tub for silkily-smooth gelato).

Another pro of the Creami is the easy clean up. The plastic tubs & lid, and the churning cover and blade are all dishwasher safe. However I handwash as all it takes is a rinse under the hot tap and a quick rub with dish soap and a soft sponge.

Price-wise, it is expensive at the rrp of $499.99. However sales can take this down to $279.

Yep it’s legit! – I was sceptical because this machine has so much hype but it’s an excellent desert maker. The product is really creamy and smooth. It’s a bit loud, I wouldn’t fire it up at midnight in an apartment, but typically only runs for a few minutes so it’s manageable. I’m really happy and have recommended it to many friends and family. Parts seem to go through the dishwasher easily too. Show details

Gamechanger – This machine is a total game changer.you van turn almost any base into a super creamy dessert as long as you freeze it first. I can achieve ice cream with this like the most expensive ones with no effort and no cooking of base. You can make unbelievable sorbets and smoothie bowls with a single can of fruit. You can make gelato….thick shakes, omg… Read more

all so delicious. You can make fancy ice creams , plain ice creams, protein ice creams anything you might dream up.i recently made a smoothie bowl that was to die for using only frozen mango chunks and milk. It’s extremely easy to use….you just freeze your base in the provided container….click it onto the machine and push the button you want..ice cream…..sorbet…gelato etc. there are untold recipes online…..and lots of groups sharing recipes. But I hardly ever use recipes. I just throw in what I like…freeze it and process it. The only downside I can find is that it’s pretty loud….but no louder than a powerful blender. My Vitamix is louder lol. Trust me you will buy extra containers( pints) the machine comes with three…but I bought 4 more lol.

Defrost my noncarb dessert heart – Want to make ANY ice cream flavour you desire? Want to know EXACTLY whats in your frozen delight? Want a healthy frozen option? smoothie bowls she copies from the socials. You can make simple recipes such as tipping in a protein shake and freezing, or like me, make a 450kj treat that is filling, no sugar and tastes awesome with a few more ingredients. Flavours I make: apple pie, lamington, lemon cheesecake, cherry ripe, mocha, strawberry daiquiri, all based on almond milk, cottage cheese, protein powder, tara gum and flavours. Just mix together in the supplied containers (buy more, trust me you will want to store a few ready to go) and freeze for 24 hrs. I gave 1 star off cos you do have to wait a day, planning is critical! Once frozen, pop in the holder, put in machine and watch the miracle happen as frozen liquid transforms to nirvana. Respin if it isnt smooth. Add mix ins if you desire, Maccas cant beat this! Its that simple. Pop what you don't eat back in freezer and spin again when ready to eat. The machine is smaller than an airfryer as a footprint, but tall and needs a stable surface as it gets some torque going. It's really noisy for the 90 seconds it's on. I mean, airplane jet loud. But I forgive it, it makes life healthy and yum. You must immediately clean the spin lid and machine spoke but it isnt difficult if you do straight away. But if you let dry out they could get contaminated. You could end up sick. So dont do that. I bought mine directly from Ninja about 7 months ago as a mums day pressie to myself, and they had spare parts readily available so I am not so worried about bits breaking as it is plastic in the main.
