It doesn’t just blend; it obliterates. I upgraded my 8yo Ninja Blender (manual push) for this one and I’m pretty sure if I put a handful of gravel in here, the Ninja would turn it into a refreshing grey gazpacho. The power is incredible. I love that I don't have to guess how long to blend anymore as the Auto-iQ does the thinking for me. Only 4… Read more
stars because it’s so powerful it actually vibrates across my counter like it’s trying to escape to freedom. It’s a blender and a morning jump scare all in one. There’s an upgraded version that claims to be quieter, maybe go for that one instead. Otherwise this one will smash the job!
Works well for fruit, ice, and some veggies. But not with kale. I have tried placing it at the top, or bottom of the cup. Placing it in whole, in chunks, finely chopped and frozen. I’ve tried using pulse, blend and max blend and usually have to do multiple max blends. But it still isn’t very smooth, and you end up chewing your smoothie. If you are wanting this blender for smoothies with kale, I don’t recommend and would not purchase again. Show details
I love my NINJA my daughter told me...I purchased it for my daughter for Christmas. My daughter said there is only one thing wrong, she has to share it with the kids, they all want to use it... They all have smoothies for breakfast...ITS SO EASY TO USE ...16 year old & 11 year old Seriously We Love Our NINJA..
Improvement over the Nutri Ninja BL480... ? – My wife has been using the Ninja blenders for over 10 years now. They produce a great result, and the units are of high quality with great reliability. So after what seemed like an eternity of life, the old BL480 was slowly dying. A good opportunity to try out the new BN500. Straight out of the box with an initial run it's..... quieter. 20% quieter than the old model - which is a godsend. The old model was ear splittingly loud. This one has a noticeable reduction in decibels. And that's it. That's the only difference - which is a good thing. The BN500 still produces high quality smoothies. Cup and seal quality is excellent. Cup clarity remains excellent even after years of dishwashering. Silicone seals can easily and cheaply be replaced once they start to go icky. So all in all another great product from the Ninja group. I'm still only giving it 4 stars though, as I'm sure the smart people at Ninja can reduce that motor noise some more.
Frozen smoothies in a minute – I bought this to use for making my breakfast smoothies. Before pourchase, I was using a Braun Quickmix 9, which while a great machine, it requires a bit of manual labour when pushing down on frozen fruit. The Ninja comes with two settings; blend and max blend as well as a pulse setting. The "blend" setting is for your non-frozen and leafy… Read more
smoothies, while the "max blend" is for when you are adding frozen products. I've used it primarily for frozen fruits you buy out of the Costco/Woolies/Coles/Aldi freezer, and then top it with 200 to 400ml of water, depending on how many I'm making. I've foud it to be a great product and well worth the purchase. Love the suction caps on the bottom of the base, so the machine doesn't move, and also a fan of the three cups (and lids). Only downside is it is quite noisy. Would definitely recommend.
So glad I went with this model – Great for smoothies for myself and the kids, blends everything really well even ice. Was tossing up between this one and another brand but went with this one and so glad I did. Can be bit loud but most blenders I have had in the past have also been quite loud. Show details
