Nuheara IQbuds Boost

Battery life???? – When they work they are quite effective. However the battery life has never been what I expected. One ear never seemed to fully charge even when new and now after 20 months of light use lasts less than 30 mins. This make them virtually useless now. Show details
Battery Life! – After spending quite a bit of money on the IQ Buds and the TV steam for them I have found that the batteries have only lasted about 18 months and will hold a charge for about 1 hour. This is despite the fact that they have had only limited use over the last 18 months. Do NOT waste your money on the Nuheara product. Show details
Junk do not buy! – After 18 months of little use the batteries will only hold a charge for one hour of use! Poor support! Consumer should be able to change the batteries? Do not buy!
Functions as advertised except for battery life – I really enjoyed the Nuheara IQbuds Boost when they were new - I appreciated the hearing curve for each ear, the ambiance versus speech, the presets for different environments, the front focus option, etc. I did not use the amplifier function very often as I have normal hearing except for frequencies above 8khz. However, I never got the… Read more
advertised time for use on a single charge. I don't know if I ever got four hours. I know that I got three the first year, most often while I listened to music. After two years, I could listen to music continuously or make long conference calls for less than two hours, usually about 1.5 hours. This was after an overnight charge in the case while the case was connected to a power source. If this is the norm for lithium ion batteries, then I would recommend buying less expensive ear buds, just for sound quality and not for bells and whistles, and replacing them every one to two years. I always needed another pair of ear buds with me in addition to the Nuheara so that I could get through a day of calls and online meetings. They just won't charge enough at lunch time to get through the afternoon. Now they do not even get to lunch time, so I must switch to either a wired ear bud or another, less expensive wireless bud.
I would not consider the Nuheara unless they offered an inexpensive battery replacement. Even so, I would not consider shipping my buds to Australia for the replacement.
Fails on battery life – I have no complaints about the sound quality. For bluetooth ear bud's they deliver excellent audio and are quite easy to use and adjust to your hearing. The problem with them is poor battery life. My pair of iqbuds lasted less than 18 months before they started to significantly lose their ability to hold a charge. Before 2 years had passed they… Read more
could only hold a charge for about 35 minutes. When I complained to the manufacturer I was told that they had met the terms of their warranty and they would not be repaired or replaced. However I was offered a 30% discount on the manufacturers price for a new set. The cost of Nuheara replacing the batteries in both buds is extortionate and is almost the same as Nuheara's "discounted" replacement cost for a new set of iqbuds. Consequently I cannot in good conscience recommend Nuheara iqbuds to anyone.
Good quality earphones but poor battery lifespan – Quality and connection are good and the sound calibration according to one's hearing health is quite useful as I have partial hearing loss on my right ear. I've used this for slightly more than 18 months and the battery capacity has dropped significantly that it could not last for more than 15 mins of usage. Unfortunately, Nuheara does not support battery replacement for this gadget which is ashamed, considering that this item is not cheap. Show details
An absolute rubbish again, thought this would be better than first generation but again failed! – connection still the main issue and sound quality average compare to Jabra, now I realise where positive reviews are from, they are from shareholders!! these are an absolute overpriced product if you just compare to any of them you can grab from say JB Hifi. Over hyped – IQbuds Boost. Might work for some but not for me. Nuheara needs to find a way of eliminating or reducing the occlusion effect when one is talking or eating. The loud, in-head tunnel echo, makes it near impossible to carry on a decent conversation without first removing. Good for just listening to music which makes them rather expensive earbuds. Over hyped. Would not recommend for hearing enhancement. Show details
I cant get to first base – I guess I m just too old to set the IQ Boosts up. I bought them because I was having trouble hearing at the theatre and at some restaurants. It might have helped had there been a user manual of the traditional kind.
IqBuds boost hurt my ear no Nuheara is making me pay – I bought these purely to listen to music. Straight of the box they would not hold a bluetooth connection across numerous devices including DAPs and phones the stuttering connection meant that i would adjust the volume so that when the buds did connect the volume up too loud causing my tinnitus to spike as a result. I have just sent them back… Read more
for a refund and have been charged a restocking fee. I didn't change my mind, they didn't work as advertised in my opinion and may have furthered the damage to my ears. This charge is an insult to me and to those living with tinnitus, who are ever vigilant in our search for aides that will give us some relief and control back in our life. I though the Iqbuds boost may be one of these aides ,they weren't, instead they harmed me yet it is me who is financially out of pocket. I paid $399 and was refunded $379 so if you pay full price you'll be charged roughly double that if ,like me, you feel that the buds are sub par and do not benefit you in the slightest in regards to tinnitus and the hearing loss it is indicative of. My one star review is given to Nuheara as a company and their arrogance shown towards me in the charging of a restocking fee which suggests that it me that is defective and not the devices they spruik.
IQbud and Boost very different products. Fit, sound, engineering are all great! – When searching I can’t find product review on IQbuds Boost. Big difference between IQbuds and Boosts. You will love the Boosts! Great fit, durability, recharge/battery life and overall engineering! Paired with IQstream TV are amazing products. Show details
Very poor build quality IQBuds Boost – I always like to support Australian products, so I bought IQBuds Boost and received them in January 2019. To my disappointment, the rubber round the earbuds started to come apart after less than 6 months of normal use despite looking after them very well. I have requested for a refund, as the build quality on these earbud is just very poor. Show details
I can hear in noisy restaurants – I have had my IQBuds Boost for about eight months. The setup to customise the hearing for each ear is really simple and worth doing every now and again - it’s just like a hearing test. I listened to Pavarotti Nessun dorma... oh, oh, oh! it blew my mind, I have obviously never heard Pavarotti sing this way before (due to poor hearing) it made me… Read more
shiver with sheer delight!
What I love the most about my IQbuds Boost is that I can now hear and participate in conversations in noisy restaurants. That one aspect is worth a $1000!
Give them a try - they will give you your money back after 30 days if you don’t like them. Personally they will never ever get mine back! And do not buy the IQ Buds make sure it’s the IQBuds Boost.

Problem with charging and whole world hearing – Had problems charging IQ Buds Boost. Right ear bud wouldn't contact to charger. Contacted Nuheara and complained. Got it to charge once and found no difference in hearing (worse trying to listen to TV which was the reason for purchase). Bluetooth seemed to work fine. However controls on bud poor. Returned Buds for refund within 30 days. They… Read more
honoured there promise for refund however they kept 5% for restocking fee. Hope you don't get the Buds I returned!
Best in class, pricey – I don’t normally write reviews because all reviews are subjective, even I doubt reviews and think many are fake. To start off I have owned Bose qc20, shure e2c, beyerdynamic dt880 and now iqbuds boost which are all in the similar price range, but they are all different products offering different features. The reason I mentioned the above is… Read more
because you have to compare apples to apples and understand why you need buy iqbuds at the first place. Iqbuds are not headphones, they are not wired to offer unlimited battery life and most importantly the they are not designed for the mass, because of its sophistication and design simplicity.
Here are the reasons to purchase iqbuds
- Everything they claim they can do very well
Unlike Samsung gears ambient function which is just for marketing, iqbuds ambient function actually works
Battery life and charging case holds best in class power supply
Technical support and warranty service always available (when you send nuheara support tickets, every ticket will auto generate a full summary of your iqbud settings and version info, something I’ve never encountered with other products, goes to show the quality and care taken by the product management team)
- Design and simplicity
The earbuds are simple to use, pair and go. Comfortable if you have used in ear earphones before
The app is simple to use, you won’t need a manual to understand all the features
Firmware update ability means it won’t cost you money to update new features, unlike other brands removing support every year.
It’s not all positive though, here are some reasons you would not purchase iqbuds
- You want something cheap (iqbuds are not meant for everyone and given away with every iPhone sold, they are not cheap because of quality)
- You expect iqbuds to be as good as wired earbuds at same price range (this is a wireless product, not wired, COMPLETELY different technology, there will be shuttering from Bluetooth radio interference, but not all the time)
- You don’t like customising features and much prefer off the shelf out of the box products (iqbuds is very different to all the products in market, it is not just an earbud, it’s more like Tesla where you can configure everything)
So before you decide whether to buy them, figure out what type of product you need first, do you want a Toyota? Or do you need a Tesla :)
