Life saver – My son was diagnosed with cmpa and soy allergy He was put on the formula, from a baby screaming in agony every time he drank to a happy content baby!! We had no trouble putting my son on the formula It was easy to prepare, we had no side effects. It does smell gross but if it’s helping your baby who cares!!
Life Saviour! – I was really worried as to how my baby would take to an elemental formula. He had rejected Alfamino and had been told that was the better tasting one! Moved onto Neocate Gold with complete success bubs took to it quite well and is drinking more and more as the weeks go on! Poop became mucous free after 3 days and I now have a very happy baby! Without a doubt the best formula for a CMPI and SMPI baby.
Only downside I can think of is bigger tins with a scoop leveller would be handy but I'm knit picking!
Perfect – This formula was a game changer for my baby. After failing trials of S26 Gold and Pepti Junior, my LO started on Neocate Gold and within days it made the world of difference, no more severe reflux or gassiness. It's easy to make up, although doesn't taste very good, so it was slow process adding small amounts of it to expressed breastmilk, gradually building the amount up over time until on full bottles of Neocate. Thank goodness for this formula.
Finally a formula that's perfect for our bub! – When I had to stop breastfeeding our baby at four months old, we originally put him on Karicare Allerpro due to suspected cow's milk allergy as both myself and my partner have CMP sensitivities. Our baby would always have a very unsettled day if I ate any dairy while still breastfeeding. The Karicare seemed okay at first however after awhile, he started to become unsettled again, was spewing up all the time, arching his back again, had runny poos and he was getting little white pimples on his face (just like I get when I drink milk). The tipping point was when he hardly gained any weight in a month.
We took him straight back to our paediatrician and he agreed with the CMP allergy and we got a prescription for Neocate Gold. He is back to his happy, relaxed self again, has started gaining weight, doesn't arch his back anymore in pain, hardly ever throws up (maybe only a couple of times per week and this is due to him probably being held too tight after eating), and his skin is clearing up slowly.
We're very happy with the progress and although I wished I could have kept on breastfeeding, this is definitely the best option for our little guy.
FINALLY we have our perfect little bubba back! – After we had to cease breast feeding at 6 weeks old due to no supply, we had tried every store bought formula on the market all having their own problems for our little girl. It seems that she has a Cow Milk Protein, Lactose and soy allergy. We have been under the guidance of a pediatrician and gastroenterologist who had us commence another prescription formula (Alfare) which was also terrible for our bubs, But have been on Neocate for about a week now and from the very first bottle she has been a whole different baby. She burps well and is not bothered if she has any left over burps (previously she would wake crying after 20 mins) it mixes very easy and it is much cheaper then store bought formulas when you get it on prescription. We get 8 tins per script for $33.60 however they are only 400g tins vs the 900g tins that are sold for store bought formulas. There is no leveler in the tin and the scoop size is very small 1 scoop per 30ml. It does not taste as nice as store bought formulas however this was a non issue for us and our bub took it without any dramas. She settles beautifully after a bottle and often does not need any cuddles or dummy and instead self settles. She is very relaxed and no longer pulling her knees up and very rarely cries anymore. It appears to be more filling then other formulas that we have tried as she does not take as much as she did of others. Price (on prescription 8 tins for $33.60) mixes well, baby is happy and settles well Taste (doesn't bother our bubs) no leveler in the tin, small tin size 400g instead of the 900g store bought formulas. Pharmacy usually needs to order it in.
