Olympus Smart VR-350

Good little camera – I just bought my new camera from the Goodguys. $134 including a Sandisk 8GB SDHC card. I could have screwed the price down a few more dollars.... But that's another story. For a point and shoot it performs well, better than I expected. I was going to by a sub $100 camera but need the extra I would get with this. The HD video function is better than I expected at 720p. I can throw out my older Canon mini DV camera now. The dedicated video button on the back is also very handy as you just press it and start recording. No need to scroll through menus and press buttons multiple times It takes great pictures and low light photography is also good without using the flash, just keep it steady.

I used to take photography seriously up till digital cameras came in and my last camera was a Panasonic DMC-FZ30. The bigger stuff just gets too heavy and takes up room.

The VR-350 has plenty of functions, most of which I will never use or even look at. Point and shoot with video is all most people will need. Quick start up, 10x zoom, dedicated video button, good low light pics, camera size, price point Proprietary battery, flash location
