Where do you place the ice ? When it's a hot day
Good afternoon, thanks for contacting us regarding you portable air con, please see below instructions on how to add water from page 10, we do not recommend adding ice however ice water is fine. The team at Altise
Adding Water To utilise the full potential of the cool mode of your portable air-conditioner, we recommend approx 300mls of water be added just prior to initial start up. To add water (see Figure 7.): 1. Take out the filter frame located at the bottom of the back of the unit. 2. Use a water cup to pour water into the water tray. Do not pour more than 300ml. Do not overfill the unit. 3. Put back the filter frame into the unit. Normally an adequate quantity of water is collected to keep the recycling process operating. However, in high temperatures (over 300C) or dry climates, adding water to commence the Aqua Chill mode will greatly assist the efficiency and operating temperature of the unit, but is not critical to the functioning of the unit. Please ensure that you do not over-fill the unit or the water tank full indicator may be triggered. Fig. 7 Do not fill with water while in fan mode. Please Note: Adding water is not a requirement for this unit to function normally. If you choose not to add water to this unit it will not adversely affect the warranty or its regular performance
My unit will not turn on this summer. I have made sure the water is empty and filters are clean, but the only thing that will work is the timer to shut the device of. Last summer before storing away I would have to hit the power button multiple times to get it to switch on, but now the power won't turn on at all.

I don't recommend using it as a heater because it somehow gives off some metallic-like smell. We use a gas-heater in our lounge instead.

Half a glass of water before start, none while freezing is in action
