Omega Altise APC12CVA / APC14CVA Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi...I have the 14 bought back in 2011, used literally only a few times until now. Was well covered and stored under a staircase for many years yet still looks like a new unit. It's only used in a very small space and worked well until right now. Had it running for 8-10 hrs a day on hi fan @ 18°C. It just made a weird noise and the air was no longer refrigerated. No sign of any water leaking anywhere. Now wondering if there is a filter to clean or ???
Good morning, thanks for contacting us regarding your APC12CVA the filters are housed in the intake grille, please see cleaning instructions from page 15 of the manual. If you require a manual please give us a call on 1300 739 033 and we will happily send you one. The team at Altise.
CLEANING Before cleaning or maintenance, turn the appliance off by pressing the button on the control panel or ON/OFF button on remote control, wait for a few minutes then unplug from the mains socket. CLEANING THE CABINET You should clean the appliance with a slightly damp cloth then dry with a dry cloth. Never wash the air conditioner with water. It could be dangerous. Never use petrol, alcohol or solvents to clean the appliance. Never spray insecticide liquids or similar. CLEANING AIR FILTERS To keep your air conditioner working efficiently, you should clean the filter every week of operation. The filters are housed in the intake grille (Fig. 25). Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust accumulations from the filter. If it is very dirty, immerse in warm water and rinse a number of times. The water should never be hotter than 40°C. After washing, leave the filter to dry then a ttach the intake grille to the appliance
Thankyou for replying, is that recommendation for both of the 12 & 14CVA models ? I have the 14CVA model and since having moved recently, all my manuals etc are all currently packed away in a very inconvenient and difficult to get to place right now so although I have a manual i cannot access it right now or anytime soon so if possible please just a simple screenshot of the cleaning/maintenance page/s & i can work it from there. Also any info you're able to provide about how or where to get it re-gassed if or when the time may present itself.
Thankyou, warm regards... Kat.
I also want to offer my opinion for the review... It's a great unit, although a little bit on the heavy side but it has wheels to move it around easy enough, that said it's a well built sturdy unit unlike a lot of flimsy throw always after one or two seasons. It works really well in small to medium sized area's depending on the climate in which it's operating. In a humid/tropical climate, a small area only is recommended and it's obvious to figure the rest out from there. For a 1500 W unit it throws out very cool refrigerated air and the outlet hose is super quiet on the outside so it doesn't annoy your neighbours. Inside running isn't as quiet so much but its not unbearable if you're tired and feeling the heat. A small trade off than can be fixed with ear plugs or head phone's if it's that bothersome.
Over all I feel it
Why is it leaking water underneath the cooler
Good afternoon Melanie, when the unit has water underneath this usually indicates that the tank is full to empty the tank put a tray underneath it and remove the plug at the bottom, when drained replace the plug and it should be fine. With the great amount of humidity at the moment the tank could need to be emptied more often. If you require further assistance please give our customer care team a call on 1300 739 033.
