Evaporative cooler – Crap, no different when the ice is added, better off with a hand fan. Show details

Just a fan – Nothing more than a fan. Even with water and switched to cool, there is no difference in temperature. Show details

Works great – Nice design, works really well, much better than a normal fan with humidifying function, great portability. I find the timer is very useful as I can just set it and leave it. Show details

Not even as good as a fan – The unit needs to be less than a metre away for it to have any effect. My little desk fan works better than that. It made the bedroom humid not cool. Too noisy to run while trying to sleep. I will be returning it for a refund. Show details

Evaporative cooler is not an Air-conditioner – This product is incorrectly labelled. It must be assumed that this mislabelling is deliberately deceptive. Given the company has decided to be disingenuous with their product names I would not trust them to deliver a quality evaporative cooler. Intentional? Fraudulent? Who can say. I can say. I will say. Scam.  Show details

In very hot weather it works more like a fan but it's good for the price – The wheels at the bottom move well and it's well priced. It's quite noisy but has a nice design. I haven't put ice in the top section but I have a feeling it would work very well. Without the ice it provides a nice breeze but it's certainly not icy cold.  Show details

It's average – I find that this cooler's cooling system isn't the best. Once you hit a certain temperate let's say 35 or hotter it just becomes like a normal fan due to the evaporator in it. It is good just not when it's extremely hot. Installation is very easy just have to plug it in and fill it up with water and ice. It is quite loud.  Show details

Works well for price – Edit: left running overnight and you are able to smell a wet unpleasant smell when entering the room. Also my unit had a rattling sound (like there was something loose) when you put the cooler on that made it impossible to sleep. Still quiet when using the fan only function. Returned to store due to the noise. Original: This portable… Read more

evaporative cooler is $90 from Big W. For that price is does a fair job. It cools down the air and blows stronger than most pedestal fans. Large water tank means it runs for over 7 hours and it has a remote control for convenience. It doesn't make the air cold nor would it be suited for a large room, but for just my bedroom it does the job of lowering the temp! The only other downside is that it is a bit short to aim it at you when on a bed but overall a fantastic product.
