This item worked for a few days and then stopped working. I reached out to the Ottocast support team. They suggested a buy and additional cable, but that didn’t help. Their product is a complete waste of time. Do not buy it.

I purchased a product from Ottocast, and it worked for only a couple of uses before it stopped functioning entirely. I reached out to their technical support team, and while they suggested several troubleshooting steps, none of them resolved the issue. Unfortunately, the support team was not very helpful, displaying a rude and dismissive attitude… Read more

over email. They don’t have a contact center, so email was the only means of communication, which made the whole experience frustrating.

Eventually, they suggested that I install updated software (despite receiving a brand new product) and claimed this would fix the problem. They also refused to cover the cost of return postage. To make matters worse, when I returned the device, they reused the box I had paid for and sent back a refurbished unit, which they assured me would not happen.

Upon receiving the “updated” product, the issue persisted, and the device still didn’t work as expected. It’s worth noting that Android Auto works perfectly fine when connected via a wired connection ( also tested the device in another car and it did not work), so the problem was isolated to the device itself.

Ottocast claims there are no issues with their products and, despite my dissatisfaction, issued only a partial refund. Nowhere in their emails was it mentioned that a partial refund would be provided—only a full refund was promised. To add insult to injury, they are citing “admin” and “postage” fees, even though I ended up paying for postage twice, and I’m still out more money than I initially spent.

Looking into their company terms and conditions, it’s clear they offer a money-back guarantee if the customer is unsatisfied. Well, I’m certainly unsatisfied. Not only was I sold a defective product, but the whole process has cost me more money than it should have.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend Ottocast. The product didn’t work, and the support was subpar at best. I urge potential buyers to do thorough research and think twice before purchasing from this company

Great product and great after sales service – Have been using the ottocast for nearly two years now. Love having wireless apple carplay, just leave the phone in my bag. The aftersales support from them has been great too. They helped me troubleshoot my the issue I was having, and it turned out I needed a new cable. Show reply

Ottocast have great products! – Reading all the reviews made just have to make one too. We love our ottocasts. People mostly review only when they have a negative experience. We have three cars in the family using ottocast products since 2022! Several friends have some too. Some people just don’t read what they’re buying or checking if the products are compatible with their car!… Read more ·  1

Others just aren’t tech savvy enough to understand how to set it up or troubleshoot, update it etc. For people with Mitsubishis. It’s written all over, where ever you buy it, that Mitsubishis need a Y cable! The Mitsubishi cars do not output enough USB power to run these types of products. The after sales service from ottocast Australia has been awesome, and if you’re still having issues after trying all the tech advice, they will refund you! No restocking fee. We found the A2AIR pro did not work with our VW, while the U2X does, and very well, love it.

Ottocast U2 Air Pro waste of money – Waste of money. Worked for about a week and then stopped connecting. I had to set it up every time I got in the car. Pointless when it takes a few seconds to plug in your phone. After some troubleshooting with the company. I was told I could send it back. I received a PARTIAL refund plus I had to pay to send it back. Do not buy. Show details

Missing Android Auto in your Car this will fix that – If you have a car with Apple Car Play only and you have an android, this will fix your problem. It converts the car's basic car play system into wireless Android auto Wireless. I have a Haval H@ and the painful bit was no Android auto. This USB device converts the Car Play into Wireless Android auto and Wireless Apple Car Play. It takes seconds… Read more

to install and integrates with the car's steering wheel controls. You get onscreen google maps, Spotify and iHeart radio if you subscribe to them. standard voice controls lie "direction then address" and it takes you on the ride. answering calls and SMS alerts and playback and responses all work. Now for the fiddly bits - don't update the firmware unless it doesn't work for you - The manual said this and I have not updated the firmware. Some times it may not connect - just unplug the device from the USB port for a few seconds and plug back in - within 45 seconds it reconnects fine. Normally it will auto reconnect on start within 30 seconds, so be patient. final word of advice, this uses the phone's wireless and USB connections to work, so battery drain is higher than normal. I plug the phone into the secondary USB port to keep it on charge while driving longer distances. This is fine for the result of having Android Auto. Support is great and they will confirm your phone and car model is supported before purchased, if it doesn't work - they offer money back guarantee.
