Spare blade replacements no longer available – Poor battery life and the plastic blades didn’t stay on for more than a minute and it was really difficult to fit replacements. But now you can’t even replace them at all, because there are no replacement blades available in any Bunnings store, and apparently the manufacturer has ‘suspended’ them. Show details
Underpowered, but more importantly blades work poorly and break every 30-60 seconds – The unit uses special plastic blades instead of the usual easy/cheap to replace trimmer line. Blades are designed with an intention to be fragile and would last less than 1 minute on average, and won't cut through anything thicker than grass without breaking. I only do minimum gardening but this struggles to do that. Recommend buying a whipper snipper that uses trimmer line instead. Show details
Perfect For A Small Yard – ‘Money Is Tight’ was at the forefront of my mind when I entered Bunnings.I was on the hunt for a bargain because my petrol grass trimmer had finally died. Normally I like things with a bit of grunt but “grunt” can be expensive, when one is a tad broke. I was gifted the Ozito hedge trimmer over twelve months ago and never had an issue with it…so I… Read more
decided on the $84 cordless battery operated Ozito Grass Trimmer…I already had the battery and charger, maybe being a bit frugal…but I am happy with all of it. The blade is plastic and it comes with a pack of ten, they are easy to replace and easy to buy more.I used it today for 30 minutes without needing to replace the blade. It is also lightweight with an extendable handle… It comes with a 5 year warranty. Excellent Value For Money.
Excellent value – I live on a rural property and use this in tight areas. Easy to use, performs very well and blades last well considering use. I would only recommend genuine replacement blades. Good battery life. Recommended.
Do NOT buy this. The blade lasts 30 seconds – Pure corporate greed at display here. The blades appears to be designed with an intention to be fragile and would last less than 1 minute on average. I only do minimum gardening and only trim small amount of grass on the edges, I am so careful already but these thing are simply weak. They also have the gall to charge $14 for 20 pack refill at… Read more
bunning. These are just small plastics bits that can be manufactures for next to nothing in terms of costs, they probably just 3d print them in batches or something. Ridiculously greedy company with a poor product.
unsatisfactory – came with 2 (blade) plastic strips. first blade lasted less than 2 min or 150m along typical footpath edge and needed replacing. If this is its capacity I dont want it and will be returning it Show details
Nifty lawn item – My lawn has been growing high in South Gippsland. Eg: Some farmers have been harvesting 3 cuts of hay since spring 2019. So I carry on merrily trying to cope. With this little beauty I can cut down to 38 mm. The blade makes 2 cuts repeatedly. An the second cut usually clears the mechanism. So with the thick couch grass I need mechanical help.… Read more
I use it to aerate my lawn... walking across and back. I edge once, then cut a line 10 cm in. Then I cut on a very angle both ways. Then I shovel the loose dirt and grass cuttings out. Putting the stuff in a pile and hot compost it to kill the weeds. A great high five to Bunnings for this product. Cons : it needs a foot plate so that you can keep it steady. This would allow extra pressure and balance for deeper cutting.
Poorly made product – Edger uses a single plastic blade that wears out in a couple of minutes. In that time it "grabs" and digs in, making it hard to make a neat edge. Used 4 blades to do an already fairly neat edge. MIGHT be a better machine with 2 opposing blades. I expect it would be useless at slashing overgrown grass, which is what a lot of trimmers are also used… Read more
for. Had to fix the switch before using it - the safety lock-out slider runs in a groove that is far too wide, so that the slider just cocks over (can't then pull lever in). I dismantled it and superglued a small plastic tab in so that it now slides properly. Back to the drawing board Ozito. Pity, because their sister product - the 18V leaf blower - is absolutely brilliant.
