Think smaller than they advise – I'm onto my second unit. 1. The first set of blades broke after only 2 hours of use chipping older pine. They were replaced by the seller for free. 2. The second set of blades broke after a further 3-4 hours while chipping a piece of green eucalyptus about 65mm in diameter. This caused catastrophic damage to the unit. The broken blade must have lodged itself in the drum causing the drum shaft housing to crack and pretty much destroy the unit. The unit has to be sent back and they did replace it however I will never put anything close to the maximum recommended size of branch through this machine because I didn't when it broke. 3. On the second unit, the exhaust cover has come off through vibration and there is a hole in the top. It actually looks like it may have been a second hand part in this unit because the missing part isn't attached to the bolt still attached to the cover. I actually pulled the exhaust off to make sure there wasn't a loose part inside that would cause damage. 4. The motor itself is good and powerful enough to probably chip up to the maximum 120mm but the quality of the rest I doubt anyone has ever put something that big through. 5. Customer service is OK but the unit itself I wouldn't recommend.
