Please think twice before you purchase this air conditioning system.

published

The air conditioner failed (Thermostat) after 6 weeks of work. The air conditioner was replaced by Panasonic and failed again with an irregular temperature after 5 weeks. The thermostat is faulty and Panasonic does not bother to repair the unit under guarantee. Think twice to purchase an air conditioner from this company. I suggest you purchase a Daikin and you know what you have. Panasonic (Panasales Australia) has a miserable service.

Works well But noisy

All in all the unit Panasonic U-140PZ2r5 is good. But the outside unit is very noisy 90% of the time it is running and I turn it off at night just so the neighbors don't complain.

No Recommendation

published

Our $10,000 Panasonic Air Conditioner with a 5 year warranty failed just 2 months out of warranty. It has therefore cost us $2,000 per year to own this unit. I understand a warranty is a warranty, but 2 months out of a five year warranty for such an expensive item, with no help from Panasonic. I would not recommend buying this brand air conditioner due to lack of customer service. I would have been prepared to pay a nominal sum if Panasonic would entertain it, but they made no such offer.
The model number is U-140PE1R5.

Purchased in for $10,340.

Honestly disappointing from such a big company

published

I got my Panasonic ducted reverse cycle 14 kw system installed by ford& doonan, through my builder, 2018, April 5.During first 6months it exceed my expectation, slowly from the summer we noticed it takes more time to cool, also system take10 to 15 minutes to start, after switching on. This winter heating function doesn’t even work properly. I called Panasonic call centre and they send a technician quickly.
He reported that 3/8 liquid line service valve is leaking need to replaced. It’s terrible experience from $14000 value equipment performing so poorly,

Inverted Ducted S-125PE1R5A / U-125PE1R5A (12.5kW)

Hi Panasonic Rep.
I am looking at this unit as the evaporator dimensions work well as a replacement for an existing R22 unit. (Circa 2003) The main issue is whether it is possible to reuse the R22 pipework if in good condition. It seems that Panasonic do list "R22 renewal" as being an option in other countries but is this available in Sydney. Approximately 15m of pipework between outdoor and indoor units. In a Strata so reuse of pipes desirable.
Thanks Stephen

Just moved into a double brick house with a ducted Panasonic U-125PR1R5. I cleaned the filters straight away. Only used the cooling twice. Day 1 for 4 hrs and chewed 20kw power, Day 2 for 14 hrs and chewed 60kw of power. Too expensive to turn on. Excessive power use ?? Could it be faulty

Hi, I live in a retirement village. Our Villa has a Panasonic ducted air conditioning system.
With a non zoned system is it best to leave all the doors open or close some of the doors.
We have five main rooms and there is NO ZONING. Two of the rooms containing an outlet can have their door closed. Should we close these doors when not in use, most of the day, and all of the night?

Best to keep all doors open,if you have adjustable vent in those other two rooms you can close them off and close the door, then you will get more air flow pressure to the other rooms, hope this helps Cheers

Thank you. Yes I can close off the vents, and shut the doors when AC is on. Will try that out.

Panasonic Inverted Ducted

Details ·

Panasonic claims their AC Inverter technology automatically regulates room temperature with little fluctuation. 'Inverter technology' refers to a micro computer installed within the AC, which determines the most sutiable operation mode. Combatting air fluctuation is important as it helps to prevent higher electricity bills and inconsistent temperatures.

The compact indoor and outdoor units in this series are able to reverse cycle, producing heated and cooled air, so you can stay comfortable throughout the seasons.

Features:

  • Various timers, including on/off timers and sleep mode
  • Wi-Fi operation optional, with separate purchase of a specialised adaptor
  • Voice control via Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa means that you don't even need to pick up the remote or your phone to change the temperature
  • As this Ducted AC isn’t designed with a self-cleaning function, it requires a professional to clean the air conditioner every couple of years to ensure that it’s working at optimal functionality.
