Take Care – After researching similar cameras I thought this was a good camera. It was bought as an upgrade from an older and cheaper Lumix. It also still fits into the category of a pocket camera and is easy to use. However, take care when inserting the charging cable. The AVI port ( also the charging port - but not labelled as such) looks very similar to the HDMI port. It is just too easy to damage the HDMI port. None of the reviews mentioned this fact.

I also specifically bought the camera from a genuine Australian distributor( ie paid over $120 more), rather than a "grey" import, thinking there would be good and easily accessible support from Panasonic. As advised from Panasonic Customer care - “ Unfortunately Panasonic does not currently have a service centre in Victoria for the digital video and still cameras”

I would think it is probably not a camera for the kids or someone who does not have 20/20 vision. The diopter correcting eye view finder Too easy to accidentally damage the HDMI port and lack of service centres in Victoria
