5D Mark 111 I compared the software, the POS Lumix with a decent memory card has to be a brilliant buy by far as it allows low light shooting, easy stepped Exposure and Auto Bracket choice and intelligent Automatic feature. It can be set up quickly for fast repetitive shots, ideal for fast birds or fish.Further than 100m the lens isnt as good but with 14 megapixels allows a lot of cropping of the picture.
I was a little disappointed it was not able to do RAW but the quality images and extra photo art choices side line this negative area for a professional.
I can drop it 2m, handy for when being chased by a killer goat or general travel without the burden of a Pelicon. The supplied silicon cover has always been used and offers good scratch resistance. When I got it home I was peeved to find it had a metal dent scar at the base, i think the shop manager swapped it for the demo one but I paid RRP.Battery life is good as lithium bomb and recharge very quick 1hr or less. For a weeks shooting.Downloading is as is normal with modern Digital quick and easy.
Macro images of bees come out well and detailed, landscape panorama adequate to good and it loves taking pictures of clouds that look razor sharp and wide tree bush shots look glossy and lovely.Ease of use after a week of use the controls become second nature and favourite scopes can be returned to easily.Indeed in a walk I may vary settings up to 10 times a minutes. The buffer speed is instant and long.It quietly sounds like a 5D Mark 111 when on burst mode with image or speed priority. This camera constantly surprises me and underwater is safe and adaptive, it by no means compares with RAW and big lense technology but i say it comes near on 75% close to and in most shots the difference is pure talent. My filming in HD Video looks brilliant and to novices beware, if you choose the different e.g PHOTO ART settings it will film record video in that setting giving strange video.OK but different. At a local airshow I captures good pics not as big as the DSLR but then with a tripod mine where still great. My mate was pestered all day with the DSLR and missed shots although shooting all day machine gun style with unlimited buffer memory as well.Brilliant the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT2 is im very impressed. Small and Capable of high resolution pictures A dent scar from the shop
