Parklander 309029x92N rubbish – Model above first engine bolts fell off.I was lucky most of the others just came lose. Now the tension belt pulley just spins on the shaft and you have to take the whole mower to pieces in order to repair it. I Cannot find a repair manual anywhere. NEVER again will I buy a Parklander product. Show details

You get what you pay for – I looked around for an affordable ride on when I first moved onto my 1600 sq m block. I chose the Parklander as it was cheap but had a Briggs & Stratton, electric start and mulching capability. I tried to start it when I got it home, but nothing. So back to the dealer only to find that the engaged<--->disengaged sticker had been put on backwards… Read more

and I was trying to start it with the blades engaged.

Okay, so back home we go, now it was running and worked okay the first few times. Then the thing would only start intermittently and I started to get vibrations. Eventually it wouldn't drive at all.

I found that the engine mounting bolts were gone or loose, and numerous other nuts, wingnuts, and bolts had fallen off.

So this time I took it to my trusted local mower shop, who performed a full inspection and repaired everything that was wrong.

That was around five years ago, and since then the only problem I've had is a failed battery.

So after all the initial heartache, this has turned out to be a very good mower for my purposes.

I have even fitted a tow ball to allow me to move my trailers around, which it is able to do without too much stress.

Next time I would get a front engined model to reduce with weight distribution but I'm happy with my Parklander.

Good so far – Engine starts reliably and runs well. The catcher works well on dry grass but leaks a fair bit out, the cutting deck also leaks a fair bit of cut grass out as well, so not a neat mower but the job is OK. A tip for pros is to replace the factory blade with the Oregon brand "gator blade" sold by GA Spares, it is like a knife through hot butter.  Show reply

Steering wheel keeps coming off??? – First problem, I bought this ride on with the wrong belt inside (Manufacturer error). Now the new belt is really squeaking although they say that is normal at first, I'm a bit sceptic about it though... The steering wheel is only held down by a small spring clip, and I've accidentally pulled the wheel up while changing that awfully stiff gear… Read more

stick. I can't believe a spring clip is holding the steering wheel down, why? Why when there are so many other simple possibilities to engineering a simple concept.

Speaking of which, I absolutely can't stand the gear shifting on this machine, sometimes it glues itself onto one gear while it seems like it has locked itself into another. I feel as if I need to stop the machine first and then change gear, and I still kind of have problems doing that too.

I don't know how to put my finger on this one, I feel I'm very limited to this machine and is most probably best reserved for only big flat areas where my frustrations on navigation will be at a minimal... Every other job best left for the push mower...

My Parklander ride on – I have had a good run with this mower. The front tyres didn't last long but I found the whole wheel can be replaced by a complete wheel and tyre from Bunnings for about $10 in their trolley section. Easy access for repairs. Good value for money.

Parklander – Owned one of these for 10 years . No complaints, the engine is very reliable . I have removed the engine from the deck, took half an hour . Easy machine to repair as everything is accessible . The plastic petrol tank has a tiny leak. treat it gently, it will last many years

Buy something else – These mowers are cheap to buy and very cheaply made. No bearings in wheels, thin tin cutter base, and the cheapest built engine B&S must make. My engine flew apart inside and when it was pulled down there were no retainer clips on con rod nuts. They can sell them cheap because they are [censored word removed] built.Buy at your own peril. Dealer was not helpful. Parts are dear, just not a good mower
