Not a functional device – My car came in with a retrofitted one in it, the dealer was so talking it up too. Great addition to Ford Falcon – This allows me to make phone calls using the car stereo (automatically overrides anything else on the stereo), play music from bluetooth, usb or line in. Interface a bit annoying, but I can live with that. Sometimes it'll stall but easily fixed by holding down the 'back' button. I wish the voice recognition would just use siri on an iphone, but that's really a minor concern

to the screen to the cradle it sits in you have to mess about with it for it to work is what the installer and myself worked out as i got him out to have a look. voice quality is horrible everyone always complains they can't hear me.

POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND RUDE – Faulty unit made contact on Thursday no response until the following Tuesday very very poor. Blamed auto electrician with out even viewing was installed by a qualified tradesman with 10 years experience. Thanks Josh for nothing but a head ache. Would give zero stars if possible will be going back to where i purchased for a full refund.

Don't buy – Remote fell apart and became sticky. Voice recognition never got the correct name right. Blue tooth would cut out and not go back on unless you turned the phone off and then turned back on and then waited for ages for it to reconnect. One of the worst buys of my life and unfortunately for me I brought two of them and had the same problems with both of them. Thanks Parrot you won't get my money again

Only ok – The problem is the remote. A few months sun exposure and it goes sticky and starts peeling. You have a punch the buttons to register commands. Voice recognition is crap. play ipod music also makes me cringe as it overides the ipod menu. Hate it. Glad I did not pay to have it installed, it was already in our car when we bought it.

Works for me! Gives my Falcon BA a new twist – A little on the slow side when connecting but it does work for me. I bought mine forAU$299, still pricey, but hey! It works. So I am happy. Will update this review in a few months.

So although it has all those options I've just found that they don't always work very well.

First, it takes ages to start up, maybe a minute which may not seem like much but when you are talking on phone and then need to go somewhere while talking it is annoying, my Sony took 5sec to sync phone once car turned on.

Syncing hasn't been great, needed a f/w update to reliably sync to my android, and even now 30% of time i need to turn bluetooth off/on (there is a new f/w now that i'll try later v2.20)

The remote either chews through the batteries or can't communicate with the main unit which is 20cm away, I find myself button mashing it to get it to do anything.

The voice recognition is ok, better than my android just in that the android doesn't announce when to speak, but I did find the apple's one better as it did announce (you can select to use parrot or phone for this).

Playing music I tried to use the SD card/USB flash to play music which works but is erratic in after you turn car off and on, it may remember where you were up to or just play from some random song. It may remember that you were playing something or not, or may be off for hours and then suddenly start playing.

Playing via iPod/iPhone connector is probably best as the device takes control. 3.5mm would probably be ok too as long as the parrot lets you select that input and not try and interfere.

Lastly, it doesn't stay powered if you arrive at your destination and still on a call so if you turn engine off it suddenly transfers call to your phone, in your pocket, while you are still sitting. The sony one would stay powered until you hung up :(

For the price I expected a more polished and sorted unit. I have since avoided getting anything with wireless controller on my wife's car, different leading brand with some of the above features but half the cost and hassle to use. Works well as a Hand Free Car Kit, Good sound and lots of media input options (when they work). The wireless remote just doesn't pick up the commands a lot of the time. High price for something where hard to use half the features.

Painful to use – I have had this product installed and reinstalled twice. middle cover and then the outer buttons snapped off after getting caught on clothing, again when getting out of the car. The music sporadically plays via bluetooth. I also think it is dangerous due to not function correct some people could easily be distracted trying to get the thing to work properly. The instruction manual (if you can call it that) is a waste of time.

2 - Charger - This is incredibly frustrating. The charger will not charge your iPhone for literally hours then charge it for one minute then stop charging. Inconsistency that would be hard to engineer

3 - Integration with radio - If you have a phone plugged but you are using the radio or CD the Parrot will magically interfere with the radio transmission intermittently. Again a true feat of inconsistent engineering.

By the way, I do review products in a positive light when they are good. This product is just so bad that I would recommend to never buy any Parrot product ever. Voice dial quite good when it happens to work Function, Price, Charger, Integration with radio. Absolutely uniquely hopeless

quality is also very decent. When wired correctly the audio will play through all of the car speakers (phone conversations are only played through the 2 front speakers). The Bluetooth Audio Stream function is also pretty handy as it enables you to stream the audio wirelessly from the apps on your phone to your stereo.

The unit comes with:

The Screen - a 2.4" full colour screen with an SD card slot on the side. The screen is small enough to be neatly mounted almost anywhere on the dash to be able to see without taking your eyes off the road, yet big enough to be able to clearly see and operate. Apart from displaying all the usual phone related functions it also displays the album cover images from your iPod/iPhone. The screen is detachable not to tempt potential thieves.

The Wireless Controller - Small and ergonomic controller with a dial can be mounted absolutely anywhere in the vehicle as there is no wire restricting it's positioning. The battery is a watch-like battery and comes included in the box. The battery life is supposedly approximately a year with regular use. The remote is very easy to operate.

The Microphone - Can be mounted above the rear view mirror. No problems with the sound quality.

Connections Harness - This is a harness for all your media devices. Comes with an iPod/iPhone/iPad connection as well as a USB connection and an Aux connection. The harness can be looped through the dash board to neatly sit inside your glove box. The iPod can be constantly plugged in and hidden out of the way preventing it from getting scratched and knocked around. The iPod also automatically recharges from the car battery as you are driving.

The Brain - The main box which all the wires are plugged into. The box is small enough to be hidden inside the dash out of view. (In my case I could even fit it inside the dash behind my stereo unit)

The Wiring Harness - A harness to connect the brain to your existing car stereo. Now, this particular harness can be a little overwhelming as it is a pretty complex process connecting it up to your existing stereo. A potential way out of this is purchasing a ready made harness which will be suited for your vehicle's stereo. These can be purchased over the internet and cost about $50 all up including shipping from overseas. In my opinion the $50 is well worth it as this harness simply plugs into the brain and your stereo without having to fiddle around with dozens of wires.

Firmware updates for the unit (for when you update your phone software) can be downloaded from the Parrot website and uploaded to the unit via USB.

Overall it is an excellent device and I would highly recommend it.
