Parrot Zik 2.0

Wish they continued the line. Amazing build quality, features, sound – The Zik3.0 headphones I got a few years ago are finally wearing out (with lots of use), and I really wish they were still making them to get an updated pair. Battery life is pretty poor (I got 2 extra replaceable batteries for it), a bit on the heavy side, and it'd have been great to have replaceable earpads, but otherwise these units were near… Read more
perfect. Felt great, sounds amazing, strong noise cancellation, stunning build quality, and the app features were pretty great too (back when they were supporting it).
absolute junk ! don't wast your money ! – These headphones are absolute rubbish! I have had a pair for three years & basically gave up on them & bought the Bose QC 35 which are vastly superior in every way ! the parrots are literally falling apart! from the headphone cushions to the piece that goes over the head, how on earth people can recommend these headphones is beyond me! they can only be paired with one device and battery life is also very poor , as is noise cancelling! Not that good – The controls on the ear cups are sensitive. Sound is not that good. The phone app is not that special. Its a bit of a gimmick. Found the changes made with the app dont do much. The soft bag for storage offers nit much in protection. These had been bought for the wife, she is not to happy with them either. Show details
The worst wireless headphones ever – They constantly pause everytime I move my head. Don't bother trying to chew anything, the movement of your jaw makes them pause. For them to work you must stay completely still. They are the absolute worst piece of overpriced junk I have ever had the misfortune to buy. No manual, no support. Just the worst. Don't buy them. I Wouldn't Trade 'em – I love my music and these really sold me on a flight to the Eastern States. Noise cancellation was amazing. My friend however suffered the whole flight until I could bare it no longer and had to share. She was reluctant to give 'em back. The look and feel of my Zik's sings quality. Cons: Parrot Zik's are way over priced. I was lucky, got mine… Read more
through a telecom, phone upgrade gift card promotion. At the time, my girlfriend wanted me to buy "Manchester" with it. I scoffed. Those bed sheets would never have the lasted the duration of my having a pair of these beauties. Yes she is still in my life but now we get to share the Zik's as well.
I also own a pair of, top of the line "Turtle Beach" gaming headphones and they were no where near the $500 asking price of my Zik's. Although I do enjoy the privilege of owning both headsets, the Parrot-Zik's open box "bang for your buck," does seem a little lacking by comparison. The Turtle Beach however comes with its own stylish recharge cradle and very cool presentation king sturdy box. Admittedly the TB's are not exactly, an out of the house fashion item.
Over time I have ended up buying accessories to complement my pair of Zik's, such as a professional head-phone-stand, a handmade pottery cable-stash container and an extra long audio cable, so as I can audio-split with a friend; when we watch a movie or listen to music very late at night. If Zik ever did an upgrade to this product it would be on their open box presentation, to include recharge stand and a suitcase ready carry case. The headphones themselves are awesome.
Good sound, but Heavy on the head – Excellent look, great feel, strong construction! Good sound but quite heavy when bringing around. It clamps pretty hard on the head as well so might not be comfortable for you. I have to use the maximum extension for wearing the headphones so if you have a large head, these headphones might not even fit you. Sound quality and function of the touch… Read more
sensitive pad is good as well as the pause function when the headphones are lifted from the ear. Sound is not excellent though and Parrot has created some settings which allow for the alteration of vocals/bass. This adds to the confusion and usually not so great listening. Nevertheless, it is a fair pair of headphones and I would probably purchase this only if it were on clearance or significantly discounted.
I love this, but keeps the ears a little to warm – I've been using my Parrot's for 2 years now, I had them replaced once as the side touch sensitivity buttons had stopped working; however I had them replaced through Myer on the same day. I love the headphones, the noise cancellation works really well on flights, battery life lasts for quite some time; however I find the insulation spongy cups that… Read more
sit on your ear can get really really warm and can get uncomfortable. The sound quality is amazing; however when putting the bass all the way up, it distorts. I love this product, I'd recommend it :)
sounds amazing – Parrot Zik i loved it.. , its extraordinary design.when i go out in any disturbance i can enjoy the music ,its process is Versatile noise cancelling.it has great application control to use it in easy way. when iam on traffic if i need to lift a call i will use this so i can talk with them or listen their words with good sound without any… Read more
imperfect noise!. i recommended so many friends to grab it.. its great feel for me while using it ,so everyone has to grab this one !..
Overall pretty decent pair of wireless noise cancelling headphones – Good sound quality for wireless headphones. Light weighted and comfortable. Feels a bit flimsy though. Noise cancelling is above average and totally usable and noticeable in noisy environment, but of course not as good as Bose QC35’s. App is good and you get to customise lots of things. At half the cost of QC35, I don’t regret the purchase at all. Show details
Excellent Sound and Noise Cancellation – One of the best headphones I've ever owned. Looks good, comfortable and sounds terrific. The active noise cancellation does the job even on airplanes. The bonus is being able to access the settings via your smartphone, and you can also download custom settings from searching on google. It's a little heavy compared to others but I can live with it Show details
excellent sound, no leakage – this earphone is so uncomfortable and has great sound. the techy features take awhile to get used to but overall sound quality is amazing. only thing is that the battery drains quite quickly and the power button is in the most ANNOYING position since you can easily accidentally hit it and turn it on and off. Unbeatable sound. Poor workmanship – When u spend $450 on a pair of head phones you expect it to my complete in every sense of the word. For the sound quality and noise cancellation I give it a full 5 stars, however the quality and workmanship of the piece has been disappointing. I have now had to return the headsets back for repair twice as the material on the earpieces just started… Read more
to come off for no good reason. Same with the material on the headband as if it were melting under the sun. It has been repaired promptly by the parrot center though.
Excellent Sound with Minor Flaws – Beautifully designed and incredible sounding headphones. If you pair these with your iphone, you'll find them fantastic. Power button is in a silly location as it is easy to accidentally turn them on/ off when you pick them up or take them off. Smart features like gesture control built into the headset are helpful. To really enjoy these, you need… Read more
to download the app and finetune your listening experience. Unfortunately, they don't seem to pair with my PS4 which was an annoyance. Battery life is good and noise cancelling is fantastic on flights. Braided cable that came with the headphones was very poor quality.

Absolutely stellar!! – This is the second pair I have owned. I still have version 1 - which is slighly heavier to wear than version 2 and 3. They are so good you cannot hear much in the way of indoor or outdoor chatter or wildlife while wearing them. The sound quality is rich and deep very much like a top end surround sound audio system. The headphones have a great… Read more
range delivering crisp sound from one end of my home to the other and even worked to half way across the road outside the front gate. They connect easily. I use then for listening to albums and for morning medition using binural beats. I have also used them wih great success when I needed to concentrate on some work on my Surface Pro 4 to close out the volume of a loud tv program in the next room.
Would highly recommend.
Great Headphones – Don't rule out these headphones they sound great, look great and are comparative with other leading brands. The sound is full, rich and with a punchy bass.. However with the free app you can easily manipulate the sound to your own preference, adjust the noise cancellation and even select predefined setting by random musical celebrities .. The… Read more
bluetooth to date seems to work well, it does seem that shortly after you connect a device there is a slight click but then it seems fine. To select tracks back and forth and volume up and down is via the RHS external ear muff... This works very well but you do need to get used to where the device is sitting on your head, in relation to the centre of the touch surface, as sometimes you think that you start in the middle but you are actually on the side.
The negatives to date are: The band could be wider, I have a fat head.... the LHS magnetic cover of the muff feels like it could dislodge.. I have had the battery come out slight which stopped the unit and took me a while to find out what the problem was .. Overall as a premium headphone they have enough features and build quality to make them feel like a great buy .. Its only early days but so far I am very happy with them. Look around on the net for pricing as I have seen them in a major retailer for $499 but paid less than half for them online.
Parrot Zik 2.0's substandard ear pad cushions – I bought the Parrot Zik 2.0 more than 1 year ago and used it mainly for long haul flights. The Zik 2.0 has been protected by a hardcase which costed $50.- extra since it was new. To be fair, the sound quality is very good, the active noise cancelling works fine, beating a lot of other products with the similar price range. What disappointed me… Read more
most was the ear pad cushions. It appeared that the material and workmanship was so bad than the vinyl started to shrink after a few months although I did not use it much. Now the yellow sponge of the ear pads are clearly visible and there is no after market replacement available. Can't believe a $500.- product would have such poor quality.
I would not recommend this headphones. If you want to spend this much money, look for something else such as the B & O H8 or Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 which produce better sound and have higher finishing quality. But they cost a bit more though.
Try these before you buy Bose – I was going to buy a set of Bose QuietComfort headphones, but the salesman at duty free showed me these which were on special as they were trying to clear out stock for the Zik 3.0. I have been using them for 4 weeks at the time of the review. I really love these headphones, for many reasons. Pros: Excellent noise cancelling, which can be… Read more
adjusted with the accompanying app.
Bluetooth for wireless use, and the headphones magically pause and play your music when you take them off & on.
Play, pause, skip tracks, and adjust volume by touching the right headphone piece.
Ear pads are very comfy, over ear.
Comes with an aux cable for non-Bluetooth devices.
Cons:
Not cheap, mine were US$360 on special duty free (in Qatar) but they're more like AU$500 here.
No hard case or splitter to use on flights (I think this comes with the Zik 3.0)
I find the head band presses on my head after a while and needs adjusting or it hurts.
If you are trying to steer away from animal products, these are made with leather.
Sound Quality Amazing; Wireless Music Is A Dream! – I was a little skeptical about paying so much for these headphones, as I'd read varying feedback. My main concern was whether the sound quality was good, as I could not find anywhere to 'test drive' them. My fears were unfounded, the sound quality is amazing. Not necessarily "out of the box" - you need to play with the app that allows you to… Read more
fine tune the sound in ANY way you like (from 20 Hz to 20kHz). Anyone who tells you the sound is not great with these headphones simply doesn't know how to work them. Note of caution on this: if you're the kind who doesn't like setting things up, you may be a little disappointed with how these sound with the 'default' setting. You need to put a little work with the app.
PROS: Sound quality; Build quality: this feels like a premium product; Wireless works well (no drop outs); Noise cancelling is excellent; Can use (included) headphone cable if battery dies (though obviously noise cancellation doesn't work); free App is amazing and lets you customise your music just how you like it - you can even program different settings to different albums; handsfree calling on my mobile works well - the fact the noise cancelling auto-stops and starts when you take/hang up a call is great; battery charge time is fairly quick; can insert a spare battery if you're going to use (wirelessly with noise cancelling for >5-6 hours); love the fact headphones pause music if you take them off your head, saves me lots of data as I stream music.
CONS: I bought a proper hard case for $50 extra, as I carry them in my bag daily. Included case not likely to protect them from anything other than scuffs, can get a little uncomfortable after a few hours of use, not that I've found a set of headphones I can comfortably wear all day, touch sensitive pad works OK but can be fiddly (and because there are no physical buttons, you can sometimes pause music or end a call in error, when you were actually trying to adjust the volume) - gets easier with practice!
Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. They were the only decent headphone on the market that could cover off: great sound + wireless + noise cancelling. Other headphones good at some aspects, these headphone successfully offer all.
