Pfaff Creative Vision

I previously owned a Creative 4.0 ... THIS is a great machine – I have owned this preloved machine for over 2 years now. I was restricted by my Creative 4.0 due to the largest hoop size. Yes, I have had to replace the motor, needle thread guide, and a couple of other minor pieces this year. The machine is now 8 years old, so I am happy (well not at spending almost $500). These machines are, new, worth the same as a small car. IF you service them regularly, and keep them in good order.
I don't know WHERE the furphy about every 100 hours came from, but that is what it is, a furphy. Once a year for normal use. I would think if you use your machine more than average i.e. a at home craft business, then maybe a service twice a year might be a good idea.
Lets be realistic, the parts move at a phenomenal pace, so they are going to wear out.
My mechanic told me it would go forever, or as long as parts are available, if I look after it, so I do, it is too big an investment to skimp on servicing. Would you buy a car and then expect it to run forever without any servicing. : new tyres, a grease and oil change etc. No. SO why expect the machine to do the same.
Clean it, look after it, service it, and I am sure that this machine will give many happy years of creativity.
Don't think I haven't had dramas with the machine, I have, but most of them have been user error and easily resolved on a facebook group, or by talking to the mechanic (and yes, sometimes, paying to have the problem fixed.
I WOULD recommend this machine any day.
Purchased in for $2,500.

Pfaff creative vision would not recommend – Had this machine for 21/2 years and have only recently been told that this machine needs servicing every 100 hours of embroidery, that means 2 hrs per day 5 day a week for 10 weeks and it will need a service (at a cost of b/w $130-$180) not once a year as I was told also only now told that the embroidery slide is designed to wear out, mine is now on its third and having only done an average of.4 of an hour per day over the time. All should have been disclosed at time of purchase
I am really put off Pfaff now and such a shame as it does do lovely work. Had I been told these things before purchase I would not have bought this machine Does lovely embroidery , is easy to use, great screen easy to see not informed of parts that are designed to wear out, needs servicing too frequently,
I have a Creative Vision and have done many 100s of hours on it, for the last 4.5 years.....I have it serviced twice a year (because if the hours spent on it) and it has been nothing but wonderful...wouldn't trade it in for anything else. Every hundred hours is ridiculous...I clean the bobbon regularly, as that's all I can do. I have only had a few small parts replaced, but not costly parts. just use common sense re servicing, just like a lot of Car Dealers and their service programs...overcharge and exaggerated service reports.
I have had mine 5 years sewn heaps & only serviced every year never had a problem Love my machine
glad you haven't had a problem. mine is yet again having problems of not recognizing when the bobbin has run out only done 35hrs since I got it back and guess what? wrote a letter to head of Blessington 19/09/12 and still have not had the decency to reply

I find this very scary as I have a creative vision and was told it would last 10 years if treated well. i have used the embroidery on average of 2 hours per week over the 2 years i have had the mashine and it does not sound happy. looks like I may have the same problem. If I have i will have to trade it in I think. Pfaff are suppost to be the best. Perhaps these mashines are not meant for such regular use.
