Pfaff Expression 3.5
1 review
Impressive Machine – For the past 43 years I have owned Pfaff sewing machines, and have always been really happy with them, my first one lasting 34 great years. My last was a Pfaff Performance 2056 which died after only 9 years but I was quite happy with it until it died. I briefly contemplated other brands but decided to stick to the brand I know and could not be happier. I bought it from Stewarts Sewing Machines in Devonport and I live in Hobart, Tasmania. The service from Stewarts was excellent.
This sewing machine does perfect button holes, although it does take a bit of getting used to the different button hole "foot" as it is completely different to my other two Pfaff machines, having to connect a point into the machine. It now does the buttonhole backwards. Also the bobbin goes in completely differently at the top on the free arm but it does have a clear cover to it so you can see how much thread is left instead of the machine telling you the bobbin is running out.
The various stitches are excellent and the screen does tell you what foot to use with what stitch - I found this very useful. As it is computer operated, if it stalls, as it has done while I was attempting a buttonhole, only doing the straight stitch and not the actual buttonhole stitch, I turned off the sewing machine for a couple of minutes to reboot it, and the buttonhole went perfectly.
I can thoroughly recommend this machine, it has a variety of straight stitches, zigzags, embroidery stitches, quilting stitches, buttonhole stitches, sews on buttons and zippers, and many other stitches. And the self threading function actually works. The starting and ending stitches are tough but neat to look at. I love it and hope this Pfaff lasts me until I can no longer sew.
