We already had a Philips xxl air fryer and that works very well. My son who is now into cooking wanted at least another one so he could cook 2 or more dishes at once. A visit to our local appliance retailer let us discover this wonderful dual basket model and the selling point to us was the baskets provide separate cooking one above the other and so not take up a lot of bench space. Whilst each basket is slightly smaller than our original, we have 2 separate air fryers only taking up one space. It works very well, great menu display and easy to clean.

Purchased in at The Good Guys Physical store for $299.

Previously owned two Philips XXL air fryers and me and my wife couldn't be happier with them. Use them daily for 5+ years and always promoted buying one to our friends. We liked it so much we decided to go for a dual draw to make preparing larger meals easier, however this turned into a disaster. After just two days of using the Philips 4000 Series NA462/70, I'm regretting the $299 spent. The cooking is taking much longer, and the food doesn't crisp in the same way. The point was to not use the oven, yet cooking times now match. The XXL (Single version) could cook veggies in 8 minutes... the dual stacker still hasn't cooked them after 13mins at 200 degrees. Even with a pre-heated basket.

Two days and wish I could get a refund and buy a new XXL that actually performs to expectations.

I would encourage those to not buy the dual stacker, it's a massive disappointment from my usual Philips XXL experience.

Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi for $299.

Hi Ryan, thanks for sharing your experience, and great to hear how much you enjoyed your previous XXL models. Cooking times can vary a bit between different airfryer models and designs, including dual basket versions. We’d recommend checking the suggested cooking times in the manual for your specific model. If you notice that the performance doesn’t match what’s indicated there, please reach out to us via external link  so we can look into this with you and help find a solution. Kind regards, Philips Home Living Team

About trash and a failure by Philips. Breathing warmly on food has better results. Unfortunately, we’ve resorted to using our traditional oven as it’s quicker, more consistent and reliable. This air fryer leaves food soggy, takes longer to cook and struggles to even reheat food. My wife called Philips and they advised we should ‘shake the basket more during cooking’. Not sure how you shake pizza, but it’s still cold after 6 minutes.

Purchased in at Myer for $349.

Hi Dave, we’re very sorry to read about your experience and understand how disappointing this must be. For clarity, 6 minutes is too short for cooking or reheating most foods in the Airfryer NA462/70. Pizza typically requires around 8–12 minutes at 180–200 °C, depending on thickness and toppings. At 6 minutes, it’s normal for the center to still be cold. Since you’re experiencing soggy results and inconsistent heating, this may indicate a setting issue or a possible appliance fault, and we’d really like the opportunity to look into this properly for you. Please contact us via external link

Our colleagues will review the case in detail, guide you through optimal settings, and arrange a check or service if needed.

Our purchase of the Philips Airfryer 4000 Series Stacked Dual Basket was our fourth Philips air fryer, which reflects the confidence we have had in the brand over many years. Unfortunately, this model has been an enormous disappointment. Compared to our previous Philips air fryers, the 4000 Series takes significantly longer to cook (often 10 minutes or more extra), and the cooking results are inconsistent and uneven. This is not a minor downgrade — it is a clear step backwards in performance.

We are genuinely surprised that a company with Philips’ reputation would release a product that performs so far below the standard set by its earlier models. There is no discernible improvement in this generation, and in our experience, it underperforms across the board.

Based on our experience, we cannot recommend the 4000 Series and strongly encourage potential buyers to compare alternatives before purchasing. Please don't make the same mistake we did.. We are now stuck with this heap of cr#p that is absolutely useless.

Purchased in for $345.

Hi there, and thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're truly sorry to hear that the Philips Airfryer 4000 Series Stacked Dual Basket hasn’t met your expectations, especially after being a loyal Philips Airfryer user for so many years. We understand how disappointing this must feel. Different Airfryer models can indeed have different cooking times and performance characteristics, especially when comparing single‑basket designs with dual‑basket or stacked systems. Factors such as basket size, airflow design, and food load can all influence cooking duration and results. That said, your experience of significantly longer cooking times and uneven results is definitely not what we want for our customers. We’d really like to look into this further for you. To help us understand what might be happening, could you please reach out with more information like cooking temperature and time. You can contact our support team directly at external link  Kind regards, Philips Home Living

A basic Requirement for any air fryer is that it reduces cook time and makes your life easier. The Philips 4000 series air fryer does neither. We had a Philips air fryer previously that worked brilliantly, it was fast and cooked food evenly. Unfortunately as we have found out the Philips 4000 series air fryer cannot even do the basics (chips). It now takes about 40 minutes for a basket of chips, and even when they are turned a number of times the tops get burned and the bottoms are a soggy raw mess. The same happens with chicken pieces and you now have to cook for so long to brown, they come out dry.

There seems to be a fundamental design flaw with this machine, where the basket of the older machines has been replaced with a metal plate restricting airflow so food no longer gets cooked properly. Don’t even ask about the chips that have to be retrieved from under said plate.

All in all, the product looks the goods but fails abysmally at the basic prerequisite of what an air fryer should do and what it is purchased for.

Hi Donny, We’re truly sorry to hear that the NA462/70 hasn’t met your expectations, especially after having a positive experience with your previous Philips airfryer. This is certainly not the cooking performance we aim to deliver. This airfryer is designed to deliver fast, even airflow and consistent results, so the issues you’re facing may indicate an underlying defect or a problem with the basket or airflow system. Feel free to reach out to us via external link  so we can check this together and we hope to restore your confidence in our products.

I tried to click your link. Philips 4000 Series doesn't even show on your website. That being said, I'm not sure what this would achieve as you cannot FIX a fundamental design flaw. It needs to be redesigned.

Our old model had the heater over the food with a fan driving the air through a mesh and to the circulator at the bottom. This means that not only the top of food cooks but also the bottom.

On this design, the grill has been replaced with a plate which has a few holes in it. The space underneath is too shallow, the circulator has been flattened in comparison with the older design. Additionally, the fan now aims from the side, with the heater still on the top. Therefore circulation through the food has dropped massively, leading to undercooked bases and burnt tops.

Anyone with even a slight inkling of design principles can see that this is a classic case of form over function. The only way it can be addressed is to completely revisit this design as it is not fit for purpose in its current iteration.
