While the Philips Airfryer XXL is a solid and well-built appliance, I’m honestly not sure if it’s worth the premium price tag. The larger basket makes a massive difference in how much you can cook at once, which is a huge plus for families or roasting a whole chicken, but beyond the size, I haven’t noticed much of a difference compared to cheaper… Read more
models. Philips heavily markets their "Fat Removal Technology" as a standout feature that separates and captures excess fat, but in my experience, I haven't seen any discernable difference in the food quality or the amount of fat collected. It seems to function much like any other basket-style fryer on the market. It heats up quickly and is very easy to use, but you are paying a lot extra for a specific technology that doesn't feel any different from the standard way these machines cook. Furthermore, despite the premium design, I’ve found that it is still quite difficult to clean, with the extra parts and large basket taking up significant space and effort. If you specifically need the extra capacity, it’s a high-quality machine, but I wouldn't buy it just for the health or convenience claims.
(please see also edit at the end) Good, lasted 5 years. I know this product has been discontinued but I wanted to report that our appliance has been good and effective for our needs. It was used heavily, about 3 times a day. Cooked pork roast the best, a saviour for Christmas and Sunday dinners. Sadly our appliance has stopped heating, sometimes a… Read more
reset by unplugging worked but we could tell it was on the way out. It lasted 5 years, not bad for a heating unit with so many moving parts in inside. It was hard to clean, not easy as some would say. Not looking forward to doing a deep dive in research to find out next one as we know that appliances (and almost every consumer product) are built to break these days to keep their profits up. We live in sad times. EDITED! Wait! We got it working again! This unit has a safety feature so if the drawer is opened then the oven turns off/stops. The plastic bit for this safety feature was broken so hubby fixed it, now it won’t turn off when the draw is opened - which is perfect! STILL GOING STRONG!
We had a compact PHILIPS Airfryer before and used a lot , but after four years the Fan began to rattle so we bought an other one also larger. I am being generous with the four stars as Philips has more expensive and versatile Airfyers to choose from. My main issue is that they are aware that the power lead is to short, just like the old one, and… Read more
does not allow the Airfryer to be positioned under the exhaust fan, however ones I installed a longer lead and risking forfeiting the warranty. We now use it almost on a daily basis and are very happy with it.

DO NOT BUY PHILIPS ANYTHING – I warned my wife DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM PHILIPS after I read countless bad unhappy reports on all items in this page for years. They have prostituted, and now riding the coat tails, of what was was once a good name, as Westinghouse has done. 2-1/2 years of putting up with an EXPENSIVE OVERPRICED undersized POS Philips Air Fryer that suddenly… Read more
dies and no help from Philips when I asked for a repair regime. What else can you expect from a flimsy pos from China which Philips probably paid $2 each for when buying container loads. Don’t laugh; I know how Mass Produced Purchase from China works. Well, they’ve sold the last item to this large extended family and friends. Sterling from Aldi is 100% much better deal, and proven by previous items bought from them. After hanging on to this POS for 18 months in the hope it could be repaired, which is a “NO: it’s sealed shut” and told a new one would be cheaper in $ than to repair a pos which may break somewhere else as soon you repair it!

Great product but disappointing as well – Cooks food OK providing it doesnt fly around, easy to use & too big to keep on bench. Tray insert does not line up well. Teflon coating extremely hard to clean & its NOT dishwasher proof like they say, had to buy new inserts twice after 12 mths, way OVERPRICED Paid top $$ for garbage, makes one think how much testing is done before marketing product - expect better from a well known brand. Best AirFryer I’ve used – I did lots of research of air fryers cause there’s just the 2 of us and I didn’t want anything too small or big, but this fryer is fantastic for 2 or 4 people. What I didn’t see though, was that it doesn’t have a solid basket which I find a hassle. The food sits on top of a mesh base for making food crispy I guess, but if you want to cook a cake… Read more · 1
or casserole or bake something, you have to use the tiny baking tin that comes with it. I can only fit 4 chicken drumsticks in the pan and it’s full. I have cooked a very small chicken in it, 1.4kg but I had to cook it at 150 cause it cooked too quickly and started to burn, but still quicker than an oven. You need to buy sooooo many accessories if you really want to get the most out of it and they cost at least $60 each. I bought the grill plate, never used it and the pizza thingy, never used that either. But if you make the most of these things, fab. I use it to cook chicken tenders, chips, roast potatoes and a cauliflower au gratin for 2. I’ve roasted nuts in it and taco shells, all the things you don’t want to turn an oven on for. I’ve dehydrated some fruit like apricots and strawberries and because you can turn down the temp to 40 degrees, it’s perfect and does a much quicker job than my oven or a dehydrator. Apart from basically having to clean it each time I use it (unless I use the baking pan) it’s better than using my oven. All the pieces fit into the dishwasher, but it does take up all the bottom of the dishwasher. I don’t use the app, cause that’s pretty useless, it needs more recipes to make it worthwhile. But it’s reasonably easy to convert all your favourite recipes to the fryer. I think it’s made ovens superfluous, I think if you have a good microwave and airFryer, that’s it, that’s all you really need. Enjoy
Functionality is great but longevity is an issue. Customer service ethos is utterly outstanding – I have loved using this airfryer. It heats quickly, is highly cleanable and doesn't feel tinny. Sadly my unit died after 29 months of fairly light use. The warranty covers 24 months. I was looking down the barrel of binning what has otherwise been an appliance I genuinely got decent use out of. This made me pretty sad as groaning land fill really… Read more · 1
upsets me. I live in a regional town and there was no registered repairer to assess it locally. And realistically, the up front service fee to make an assessment (if I drove two hours away) could purchase a new aldi airfryer outright. Not fancying my chances, I contacted Philips and they are on the case despite the unit being just out of warranty. I posted it away at their expense and have just received a phone call to indicate that it is repairable and that they will cover the outlay. Can't ask for more than that. (I guess other than for the unit to keep ticking for a little longer given that it is top of the range and the price reflects that). By way of summary, this airfryer is way better than alternatives. I have used a few different versions including tefal, the other highly touted brand. I was disappointed that my unit choked so quickly after the warranty ticked over but Philip's service team have allayed my concerns and provided a fix to back up my confidence in this brand and product. I will purchase Philips again based on their outstanding response in addressing customer issues and concerns and the fact that the airfryer is just better than other units I have flirted with.
Love, Love, Love!!! – Love both of my Philips Airfryers I have had for years! Both were Birthday Presents (different years) that I still love using constantly years later!! I love I have NEVER had any issues with my Philips Airfryers! I will NEVER own another brand again - due to another brand almost causing a house fire & was a known fault.
I honestly cannot fault this amazing Philips machines & highly recommend this to ALL my friends & family (& have been for years!) - certainly NOT like others claiming to be what Philips truly are - THE BEST & THR Original AIRFRYER!
Philips Customer Support was amazing - friendly & helpful staff who went far & beyond with my enquiry.
Easy to register your machine for Warranty online in your Philips Account.
For those unsure &/or think its only for "Fried or Frozen Foods" you will not be disappointed & truly pleasantly surprised . They ARE worth their weight in gold!!! I will NEVER be without a XXL now!!

Was chillin' like a villian when I craved edibles so I opened the mighty Philips Airfryer Premium Compact Digital HD9742/93 to help me cook up (Waltuh). I smell smoke, the za in the airfryer was cooked, beyond cooked, the chirping of the air fryer a sound similiar to the police siren, I devised a plan, terminator Brad Enward chased, I had to buy time. 2 Minutes of cat and mouse later, I Jerry, Almost caught by Tom, but the cat never wins... With a sudden BANG! (sorry for caps), the airfryer catches alight, devouring the kitchen, Brad W-Keys my box, hitting a spike trap (airfryer explosion). Recently purhcased the Philips Premium Digital Airfryer from Amazon and gotta say, it’s a game changer!!! Cooks stuff real quick, and everything comes out crispy without all the oil, which I love since I am trying to shed some weight! Hahaha! Super easy to use and clean as well. Only thing is it’s a bit bulky, but other than that, I am loving it! Highly recommend if you're looking to eat healthier without sacrificing taste! ❤️ Show details

Poor service and poor quality – Not long after the warranty ran out the machine stopped heating It’s a disgrace for the cost of this machine And the support I got from Phillips was also a disgrace for. A warning about using the air fryer – I recently had a frightening incident with my air fryer. After cooking an eggplant for about 20 minutes, I opened the fryer, and the eggplant exploded, causing burns on my hands, arm, chest, face, and neck. Please exercise caution when using an air fryer.

Best time saver for a busy life – We were skeptical about buying an airfryer.. but wow what a life changer. Cooks things so quickly. No wasting time waiting for the oven to heat up. Changed my life – I am so glad I discovered air frying with the Phillips Air Fryer. It is so easy to use and makes everything crispy but not dry. Much better than turning on the oven for a few things. Saying that it is big enough to feed the whole family. Show details · 1
Great airfryer – Great air fryer, from a well respected brand, easy to clean reliable. However the price is abit much considering cheaper airfares do the same job. I recently replaced my ninja airfryer with the phillips and can say there's not much difference in terms of quality cooking. However still a good purchase if your willing to spend the extra cash. The Best Air Fryer, Guarantee to Satisfy any taste bud – Easy operation, cooks superfast and evenly. The Air Fryer definitely will satisfy anyone leaving a succulent and juicy taste once operated properly. Easy to clean and wash as its a non stick surface and easy to disassemble as well. Highly recommend and as far as fan noise concerns, it's a high turbo fast fan with a slight noise not a big deal, you get adjusted and used to it. Well done to Phillips. Show details · 1

Makes meals quick and easy – Don’t get me wrong the staple chicken nuggets and chips are quick and easy, However with the extras you can purchase to fit in your air fryer like baking pan and skewers makes nutritious meals so easy. Good air fryer – I have been looking for air fryer for few months and this air fryer definitely worth the money. I cooked fish and chips, small pizza, scones and cookies with my air fryer. I never use my oven since I have this air fryer also barely used oil to cook any fried food. The good thing about this air fryer is very easy to use, cook food very well and fast.I must say I love my air fryer. Show details · 1
Oil Catcher issue – All good except when I wash the pan by hand using a dish brush and detergent, I wipe the oil catcher bit under the mesh grate and black stuff is transferred onto the dish cloth/tea towel. If I use a sponge to wipe the oil catcher bit, the sponge ends up black. Washing it all in the dishwasher makes no difference. The oil catcher is not peeling… Read more
or flaking, just transfer's black stuff onto the cloth. I did phone Phillips and ended up speaking to a call center in the Philippine's. Fully explained my issue, asked if the black residue could be a health hazard and what it was made out of? No difference with Phillips call center than all the others I have phoned overseas, none of the "customer service" people want to know about it and always as in this case just made excuses and tried to say it was my fault? The guy wanted me to photograph the black on the tea towel and email the photo to him? He couldn't say why he wanted a photo of a now dirty tea towel except to say it was grease. I refused to send the photo as I explained the pan and bits were all washed very clean and my Bosch dishwasher also does a good job, regardless of how it's washed black stuff gets transferred onto the cloth. I still have no idea what type of plastic it is, in fact the guy told me it was metal which it definitely is not. It does the job, however, am I also getting a feed of plastic residue I still have no idea. Far from impressed with the call center, he just wanted me off the phone, therefore I would never buy a Phillips product again as support is so poor. EDIT: I did receive a personal reply from Phillips. They gave me a number to phone their Australian office, I did as asked and ended up talking to a guy in the Philippine's again. Putting aside the issue of some sort of unknown residue coming off, the support offered is non existent, they just keep fobbing me off. When you research an item to buy, I suggest you phone the "support center" first just to see what sort of service or lack of service you may have to endure if you buy that product. For me, Phillips products are off my shopping list.

Was a bit more than the others but worth it – This was more expensive than others on the Market but I once purchased a really cheap one and it lasted 6 or so months before it was kaput. I'm happy with the quality and the time this one takes to heat up and be ready to re heat or something's cook from scratch
Great all rounder for all types of air frying – The food produced are as good or better than the oven. I've cooked scones, frittatas, bread and butter pudding, pumpkin pies. Small roasts, roasted potatoes, carrots. Reheating pies, sausage rolls. So versitile. Show details · 1
Good product but impossible to clean the element area – The fryer has been well used and is much loved in our house for some time, however fat quickly builds under the element area and is impossible to clean. I have tried a few times without success. At the point now where it is very smokey a lot when cooking. Not sure how much longer I can last with it like this which is disappointing. Show details · 1
