Great Purchase

I've been deliberating whether to purchase an air fryer for over a year and decided to take the plunge when this was on sale. I definitely don't regret it as we use our air fryer everyday if not every second day. I would consider this a medium sized air fryer, perfect for a couple. It's brilliant for cooking frozen foods and we have cooked steak and pork belly in it. Efficient, quick and time saving! My only qualm would be that there is a slight oil smell which spreads but other than, no regrets in my purchase.

Time to look for a cheaper alternative

I use it frequently. 2 year warranty expiring in 2 days. Now it's changing the temperature and timer on its own. $300 for 2 years not good value for money.

Over priced and badly made

First of all let me say that I am a fan of the Philips XL Airfryer. It had all the required features including a 'Favourites' option but was difficult to clean. I used it for over three years without a day's trouble and then got caught up in the hype about the new Digital XXL and ordered one. The old XL was passed on to a new home still in working condition.
The one redeeming feature of the XXL is the ease of cleaning. The operation though is much more cumbersome than the XL and there is no 'Favourites' button. The body of the Digital XXL is flimsier and within a couple of weeks of use I started to notice that the main body of the appliance started to 'swell' resulting in the drawer not closing. The cooking was also uneven. Eventually I returned the item and got a replacement.
I don't know if I am extremely unlucky but the replacement XXL does not function as efficiently as the XL. In fact it is much slower and cooks unevenly. For instance I can put a cold scone or bread roll in the XXL and after 6 minutes the outside is toasted but it is stone cold inside. Also it does not appear to 'fry' but seems to 'steam' food instead. Furthermore the removable base of the basket is warped so items such as stuffed mushrooms topple over. I used to love my XL but avoid using the XXL.
I have recently started using my second Philips XXL Airfryer again and have noticed that it has developed all the features or lack therefore of my initial purchase. The gap between the drawer and main body grows every time I use the product resulting in the drawer not closing.

EXCELLENT ITEM

So we purchased this Airfyer not really knowing if we could expect it to really be as good as it says. Well we were blown away. Not only does this amazing cooker make the best crunchy chips (I was so happy it was true) but they cook so much faster because it cooks the underside at the same time. They tasted amazing but also and one of the best parts, the kitchen wasn't like a sauna from a hot oven. I love it. Only things i wish is that the basket was a bit bigger and that it was easier to clean up behind the element. It would be great if they could come up with one that the element was removable. But for the cooking, wow it is great. We cook chips, pies, popcorn etc. I also cooked a rolled stuffed turkey roast last week. I was worried it would be dry but omg it was delicious! My husband was shocked it could cook something like that so well. I was given a Bellini Airfyer as a gift recently. I didn't need it and was going to return it but figured i'd try it out as it has a basket that is at least a quarter larger. Also it has the air flutes cut into the sides as well so we figured even better cooking right? Hmmm well no. It didn't even cook underneath so it took longer. So I still had to turn the food over. NOT in the Phillips, it cooks from the bottom as well. I will never stop using this item. I use it every single day. Even just to reheat things like pizza or chicken etc. Thanks for a great product, I have always purchased Phillips brand and the quality of this item is just more proof of why I keep choosing them.

If you have young kids, or you love chips, you need this machine!

The best thing about an airfryer is that it has zero warm up time. So when you've got hangry kids, you can chuck in some freezer chips or fish fingers and don't need to wait an extra 15 minutes for the oven to reach the right temperature.

We make our own sweet potato fries in there, and they are excellent. It's also very handy for reheating fried food and pizza. We love the bigger size, it was the one tip we gleaned from reading all the reviews. We can even roast a whole (small) chicken in there!

Purchased in July 2018 at Harvey Norman for $414.00.

Great product

We use this almost everyday. Great product, has never let us down.
Such a great variety of foods can be cooked in this air fryer. Easy to use and even came with a recipe book.

Good product but not value for money

It is a great concept
Philips is charging so much for this unit and not providing any accessories with it.
They are trying to rip you off selling accessories at a premium as well
you can buy similar products with accessories for almost 1/3 of the price of this unit.

Great product

Owned this airfryer for more than a year and I’m still in love with it. Regret for not getting it earlier. The machine cooks meat and veggies perfectly. Absolutely great for people who don’t know how to cook. U will be amazed how quick the machine cooks. Bought one for my friend for Christmas present and she loves it too.

It is simply wonderful.

Highly satisfied. I have cooked six different meals which are nice and healthy. Really like this product and strongly recommend. Easy to use, great for cooking quickly when time poor. Healthier cooking with no oil and fat drips away. I use mine everyday.
The product does require care, so please use as recommended and wash it at least weekly if you cannot daily.

Glad they brought out a XXL model

Very happy with the purchase of this air fryer. It is our second one, we purchased one of the original smaller version when they first came out and it got used almost every day so only lasted around 3 years. We did find the original version a bit small for a family but this XXL model is awesome, we use it 3-4 times a week for all sorts of different foods.

Amazing

Anything you cook in oven can cook in this easy cleaning just wipe out easy to use . I'm very satisfied with all the food i cook fish chips chicken tenders macaroni cheese wings chicken pieces even a cake in the dish i bought that is for this machine .

basket lock disengages when removed from unit. Safety issue.

My air fryer is 2 1/2 years old. I have absolutely loved using it. Unfortunately now when I remove the base with the handle the lock disengages by itself and the basket is separated from the base. This has happened a few times spilling hot contents onto floor or bench top and even burnt me a couple of times. Obviously the lock is faulty. Has anyone else had the same problem? The fryer was purchased from Harvey Norman Noarlunga SA

Good Product

This cooks food well with no grease or oil required. Only used it a couple of times as only recently purchased. It is convenient and easy to use with the only real hassle the clean up at the end. It can be a bit messy, but if you can look past that, I would recommend.

Poor Customer Service and cashback processing.

Bought the Philip airfryer on 27th Oct and applied for the cashback on 11th Nov. Provided all the details and the full receipt but the claim was rejected on 29th Nov with clause 5.

Clause 5 - The claim was received without a fully paid receipt or tax invoice - "The purchase receipt must clearly specify the Store name, Store location, model number, date of purchase, receipt number and price paid in full."

Information and the receipt sent was accurate and fulfills all the clauses requirement. I showed it to at least 5 of my office colleagues and they disagreed to the outcome from Philips cashback processing team.

On contacting Philips cashback customer service, I was told to resent the receipt which I did on the the same day - 29th November. Still today I haven't received my cashback. This is frustrating and questioning my trust on this company.

The processing days in the Terms and conditions are 28 business days and it is almost 28 days from the application of the cashback. Also I am not getting enough info on the progress of the claim from the cashback customer support team.

I would suggest not to fall in the trap of the cashback as it not going to be easy process. It is frustrating for me.

It is so good

We were hesitant about the cooking concept and delayed purchasing an Airfryer for months. After seeing the Philips XXL and then doing extensive research on Airfryers, it was an easy choice to choose the Black Philips XXL.
Have cooked several meals with it and even though it has only been a matter of days, we are very pleased with the result. Home made chips are extra good.
A great fat free way to cook. Thanks Philips. Easy clean up.

Love this machine!!

Absolutely in love with this machine. It is so easy to use and clean. Food comes out super crispy and moist in the middle. Home made chips come out so much better than store bought ones too. It’s like having a fish and chip shop at home! I use it nearly every day so it has been good value for money. Definitely recommend to everyone. Best part is I don’t heat up the whole house on a hot day by using the oven, airfryer is quicker, cooler and less messy.

Love the XXL air fryer but!!!!!

The food it cooks is fantastic and so much healthier with less fat. However my XXL has oil/grease which sometimes leaks out onto my counter from inside the unit. What's causing this? Is this normal? I have had the unit for about 6 months, and my daughter has the same size machine and uses it for the same kind of cooking that I do, and she does not have a problem with the oil coming from the underside of the machine.

The oil comes out brown even though any oil in the bottom pan is clear or clean and only comes from the cooking food. I clean my unit every time I use it and also wipe down the element and inside the unit with a damp cloth after every second use. The oil is not seen running down the inside silver walls of the unit but comes out from the bottom of the unit where the air vents are. Particularly on the right hand side. I use the overhead exhaust fan when cooking, and do not use any extra oil. I am currently cooking sausages (pork chipolata's) and they have very little fat in them, and yet the oil / grease is still coming out from the bottom of the fryer. I gave it a complete clean including turning it upside down yesterday, and this is still happening. Does anyone else have this problem?

Love this machine

I love this airfryer, it's so easy to use and the food comes out lovely and crispy. Took a bit of practice to get potato chips perfect, we cook on a lower heat to cook them a bit then put the heat up at the end. Love chicken wings, sweet potato and pumpkin chips. Lamb chops are great. Easy to clean.

how do I attach grill pan as the handle on the main pan is not detachable?

Hi my philips airfryet XL has stopped working altogether . Not yet a year old .... on ocasdion it has stopped halfway through cooking but tonight it has completely stopped . It not longer turns on at all ... tried different powerpoints and also waited several hours in case it had somehow overheated . I was only cooking frozen chips and it had only been on for 8 minutes when it cut out . Thoughts ???
