HomeID is garbage. Cannot connect to my device at all. Device comes with no instructions, just a sheet of paper written in micro print that appears to be warnings. Not quite sure how I'm meant to use this device. Likely to return it. Show details

I really like this air fryer, but 2 improvements would make me love it! It cooks beautifully and is super easy to clean! Programming, temp and time setting is intuitive and straight forward, BUT, the little rubber grommet in the oil collecting base can be easily lost. This may not prove a huge issue, but I’d prefer not to have oil and grease leak… Read more

into the machine and potentially all over my counter if I do lose it. I also love that the entire cooking basket AND oil collector base come out together making the unit SUPER easy to clean, but this also means you need additional bench or sink space to rest the base so you can remove the cooking basket and serve, otherwise the base is left tettering precariously out of the machine, but there is also an upside to this - no crumbs or oil drips when moving the 2 pieces around.

All in all I’d like to give 4.75 stars mainly for the rubber grommet, everything else I can work with because the machine is so easy to use and cooks very well!

Flimsy rubber plug in air fryer pan – We noticed fatty liquid on the inside base of the appliance. On washing the main basket I noticed a small hole in the middle of the pan/basket. Obviously a plug has come away at some stage. On inspection of this product at the The Good Guys, Albury where we purchased it, I noticed a large rubber plug that was not on our original airfryer. I also… Read more

noticed all the other Philips air fryer models had no such hole where a flimsy rubber plug is required as in our model. Does this imply a design fault? The Good Guys contacted Philips for us. The response is Philips will send a new rubber plug as 'goodwill'. I'm concerned that this rubber plug will not last long and we'll be in a similar situation minus warranty. Concerned customer, RonG

I would be lost with no air fryer to use – We have had the first XXL Air Fryer for well over 6 years and it is fabulous but we decided to get another one as the other one has been constantly used. I would be lost without an Air Fryer and we naturally went with another XXL thinking, well it will be just as good as the first one. A few little difference some good some not so great but… Read more ·  2

still happy with the cooking of things we have done.

It is much lighter than the original one which is great when you have chronic conditions. It is so much easier to clean as well as the latest XXL completely comes out, there is no track in the way. Plus, when the appliance has cooled down, I can turn it upside down and clean the element down and I don't get a crook neck trying to see what I have missed.

We do a lot of frozen chips for just the two of us and it takes just 11 mins and they are ready. No turning the oven on, waiting 12 mins to reach your temp then 25 mins in to cook the chips then flip them around. Then you think, which ones didn't I flip over. I just put the chips in, then about half way, I come in and just stop the machine, check them out and then just give a quick shake of the pan and push it back in and turn on again. Simple. I cook chooks in there, roast pork and the crackling is the best than the ones you buy already cooked in Coles. We cook our fish in there. Have done roast vegetables. Frozen snacks you buy, just so easy to throw in the air fryer. I haven't ever made a cake in one yet though. That will be on my to do list one day when I feel like experimenting.

With the first Philips Air Fryer we bought, you got a user manual which was really handy to use. It tells you what the little symbols are for and it gave you rough ideas of times and temps to use. I am old school here in I like to have a manual in front of me. I'm not into all this put this ap on your phone to see what everything is. So it would be nice for perhaps Philips to put on their website (I have looked and nothing there), what the other symbols are. I can take a guess with some because they are the same as what is on the other one. Apart from the above, I love this one being lighter, easier to clean, cooking is just the same as the other one. Chooks, pork roasts and even roast beef come up fabulous. I love how this one is much deeper so the top of some of foods are not being burnt by the element. My size chook I buy fits perfectly in there now, so have no complaints.

The digital buttons on the front are easy to follow. A little different to the original one, so took a few goes getting used to it all but I can say, expertise now. I also put a rubber care mat under the air fryer on our stone bench as the machine can get hot. With this one not being on any tracks, when you stop the machine to have a look at whatever you are cooking, the whole thing slides out when you pull it so I have a chopping board so I can rest the pan onto. Then you just slide back in.

This machine has a 2 year Warranty so hoping it does last like my original one which is still here and we still use it.

I was at first disappointed when I bought it home and got it out of the box and thought, gee this is really light and it is a bit plasticy but as long as it does the cooking of what I do, I am a happy customer to this product. It seems to be more like the XL size one as after a friend we were living with for a while saw ours working, she went out and got the smaller version which kind of looks what our new XXL is now. We did see another XXL there by Philips but it was a bit out of our range in price otherwise we would have got that one.

All in all though, am happy with what I have been using it for lately. We would use it just about 4 nights of the week. I hardly use the oven anymore.

Fall from grace, no longer a premium product – Quite disappointed with this air fryer. Coming from an older Philips Analogue XXL, I feel this product is far inferior. Build quality is lacking, flimsy, cheaper materials used. Doesn’t cook as well as the older unit. Doesn’t have the slide out basket drawer rail. Smoke and grease leak out the sides. The buttons are absolutely awful to use. I… Read more

don’t believe it hits the claimed 200c.

This right here is the shrinkflation of air fryers. Philips are obviously cutting corners and selling a product at the same or higher price of older models.

Don’t bother with the paid positive reviews on the various retail websites, they were in given a free unit in return for a good review.

Not XXL very small – We bought this as a replacement for our 5.8L different brand model, the 7.2L size of this unit is SMALLER than our 5.8L old unit! VERY disappointed. Show details

Great addition to the kitchen – We have had our Phillips XXL for just over a month. As a novice cook (me!), I have found it easy to use. Cleaning is relatively simple in the sink or dishwasher. Love the connected feature of this machine and its integration with the app and online recipes. I still use the conventional oven for a few thinks but far less than before we got the air fryer. Show details ·  1

Alright airfryer – Previously had another model of philips airfryer and I feel that this one is lacking in comparison. When I cook food with same settings as previous model, food either wouldnt be fully cooked or cooked unevenly. Other than that so far so good, hoping it doesnt run into any heating issues like the other reviews. Show details

Expensive but flimsy piece of appliance – We thought being a Philips brand it was worth every buck... Not! After 2 months, it stopped heating at 180C. 2 months later, it no longer heated at all at 200C. A real close inspection beyond the external shine is flimsy material. For it to last 4 months, it is subpar. I am very disappointed. Thankfully it is covered under warranty & although it… Read more

will be replaced, it certainly did not meet my expectation & frankly, I suspect this will not last more than 6 months.
