Dangerous Overheating Issue — Not Worth the Price I purchased the Philips Air Fryer for $600 expecting top-tier performance. After two and a half years — just after the warranty expired — the device started overheating uncontrollably on its own. It got so hot it melted part of its own material. This is extremely dangerous and unacceptable from a… Read more

brand like Philips. There seems to be no control system to stop this runaway heat.

For a product this expensive, I expected reliability and safety. My older $70 air fryer from Kmart worked for 5 years without a single problem. It’s shocking that a “premium” product like Philips would fail so badly — and so dangerously.

I no longer feel safe using this device in my kitchen. I strongly urge Philips to investigate this issue and issue recalls if needed. This is not just poor quality — it’s a serious hazard.

I’m happy to provide photographic evidence of the damage. Do better, Philips.

I bought my air fryer in November and it was always very ‘sloppy’ when inserting. The very small plastic guide part has now broken off and the air fryer now doesn’t work. Very unhappy. Show details

Love this air fryer! I absolutely despise cooking and having an air fryer has changed it so dramatically and admittedly I bought this for my partner, however I use it more than him! I did quite a bit of research before going into store to ask staff and all recommendations came back to Philips. I love the appearance of this model so picked it and… Read more

it hasn't missed a beat, I use it daily if not multiple times a day and couldn't be happier with it. I do wish I'd had the foresight to purchase the larger model but we can always upgrade when the time comes.

Substandard – Purchased the Phillips XL after years of using a cheaper brand. We chose Phillips as it appeared to be a more superior product. The drawer was difficult to close from the outset, now it has stopped working without warning. The lights are on but it’s not kicking in no matter what we do. Dinner ruined and several hundred $ down the drain. Do not recommend. Show details

Best appliance purchased – I make use of this every day. It's among the appliances I use the most. Had no problems with it at all. The food is consistently crispy and flavorful. I make roast vegetables with this all the time. Very easy to operate and requires little oil. Vegetables cook more flavorfully than when they are roasted in the oven. It's quite simple to clean. I highly recommend this product. Show details ·  1

AirFryer – Purchased in December 2023. It worked well for about 8 months, but stops working time to time. the digital screen flashes or it does not switch on at all. very unreliable. Still under warranty and therefore will be taking back to Harvey Norman. Definitly will try another Airfryer. Show details

Easy and Convenient. Use it everyday – Love my Phillips Airfryer, Saves so much time cooking dinner. Easy to use and doesn't require much oil. I use the silicone basket so you don't have to clean the airfryer basket everytime. Just needs a wipe over. Food taste amazing and saves you turning the oven on for 2 people. I can cook a whole chicken in an hour and it's so tasty and juicy. The dhape of this one isn't as bulky as some. I highly recommend this product. Show details ·  1

Very bad product – I bought this product from Myer. I was saving to buy a superior air fryer and didn't want to buy the basic one. So i decided on getting this one "HD9270/21" colour white (AUD 299). We plugged in and turned on the machine and put prawns to fry. After 5 minutes i paused and opened to flip the prawns. It stopped working since then. I am a mechanical… Read more

engineer and i can certainly say that the quality of the tray to go in and out is very bad. Thus causing the machine to not start. However, the top model from Philips (Premium Air-fryer XXL HD9870/20) has a guide for the tray IN/Out. I would recommend that if you are comfortable to spend a lot of money.

Overall disappointment and would not recommend – I had a much older airfryer (HD9240) that needed to be replaced so I opted to go with the same brand and size and figured this one was the updated version. It seems to be in the same series, similar in appearance and similar pricing. I ordered it online as I felt like I was merely upgrading and I was happy with my last one of 5 years.. I am so so… Read more

so disappointed! It does not cook as well or as quickly as my previous one and the design of the basket has taken a step backwards! You can't separate the basket from the holder easily. The old model was easier and safer. You have to remove the entire holder from the machine in order to release the basket - not a good idea when the holder is hot! There is nothing to hold it in place and it just slides right out. Not worth $349!!!!! The new one is a lot less inferior. Also, there is no manual that comes with the machine. I would not recommend and I am going to take this one back to buy a different brand.
