The same issues as mentioned by others – I have the same issues as others here; Sync issues - if the TV volume is up, there is a distinct echo, and without the TV sound the lip sync is slightly off. No amount of fiddling with the "sync" on the remote fixes this. I have tried optical, hdmi and stereo cables. Woofer not pairing - the sub-woofer either doesn't pair, or comes in and out. When the system works, the sound is good. And for the money, it is excellent. Show details
Slow reacting – Bought on the assistants recommendation. Automatically switches off when not in use, which is good. Very slow switching on, remote doesn't always work on first pressing the on button? Can't read the setting on the bar very well, need to be in a flourecent light when switching on and changing setting, then dims to a sutle light when on/set. Audio not the best but good. Bluetooth issues? so I don't have Bluetooth connected. Show details

Best present for my wife with one annoyance – I bought this on special from Kogan. Great price for a nice mid range sound bar. We first used it with a USB for a birthday party. The sound was good but we had to be careful not to overdrive the bass. Easily enough oomph for the party. The annoying things are with USB you can't just play an album of choice it just plays the same sequence as the… Read more · 1
tracks were recorded on the stick. Shuffle play is also tricky to select as the remote is a bit flakey. But played through Bluetooth from the Spotify on my wife's phone its fantastic. She loves it. For the price and the use we love it. Philips quality is excellent. Easy to assemble and set up. Love it love it love it!
Wifi Disconnected – Wifi gets completely cut off when sound bar is turned on. It's very hit and miss as to whether wifi works with iPad or iPhone after sound bar is turned on. Gets completed cut off on laptop every time. There are a whole series of ridiculous routines that have to be gone through before I can get wifi working on iPad but then it works. This is an enormous nuscance and an enormous oversite Show details

Sync problems – Same sync problem as other users, the sync buttons on the remote can't fix the problem. So annoying, think I'll go back to the tv speakers, as there doesn't seem to be an answer. I would be interested to see if anyone doesn't have a sync problem. No problem with sound quality. Show details · 1
Be prepared for audio sync issues, never did receive my cashback – This is my first negative review of any product. But I think my experience and the product warrants this. I bought this from Harvey Norman last year with a 100 dollar voucher cashback. I submitted my proof of purchase and barcode as instructed, spoke to Harvey Norman directly and Philips and they have no recollection of the cashback deal (have… Read more
posted below). I have followed with consumer affairs and almost a year later still nothing. Cashback deal below, I would've never purchased this if I knew I wouldn't get an extra 100 dollars off the RRP.

As far as technical details go the sound when working correctly is punchy and good. 2 issues though 1)Audio sync never lines up perfectly as Craig H has stated. 2) If the audio timesout, you can't just resync it back to your TV. It needs to turn off and back on completely.

Basically Good – Certainly improves the depth of sound over the TV's 8w speakers. The issue is audio sync. There is a function on the remote to adjust this but it doesn't quite do the job. If you leave the TV speakers on you get quite an echo effect. Turn them off and you just have to put up with lips move and sound coming later no matter how much you try syncing. This is using an optical audio cable.

Good product though there are flaws – Good product for the money you are paying. Paid only $150 after cash back. Excellent bass. There has been problems with Bluetooth connectivity. Bluetooth connects to the phone when soundbar is on standby, but gets disconnected when it starts. You need to turn the power off and fo the pairing again to connect via Bluetooth. The good- Very good… Read more · 7
sound for the money, deep bass
The bad- Bluetooth connectvity issues, Doesn't recognise connections automatically. No "custom" button for the sound.
Works well for me – Picked this up for 279 from Harvey Norman, but will get back 100 as part of a Philips cash back deal. At less than $200 this system is a steal. I've been wanting a simple setup to replace the stock speakers in my tv - I was sick of having to adjust the volume every time a 'whispery' part of an action movie was playing only to crap my pants when… Read more · 1
a bomb went off. I had been considering a basic amp and bookshelf speaker setup, but for for anything decent would still have been dropping $300.
I'm not an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination, but at the end of the day you wouldn't be buying a soundbar if you cared deeply about sound. That being said, I am very pleased with the sound of this unit. Voices sound great, and the subwoofer provides enough 'oomph' for my taste. Connecting was simple, just remember to change the sound output in your tv settings (eg, external).
It doesn't come with cables to connect to your tv, I bought an optical cable from k-mart for $9. Incidentally, don't get sucked in to throwing good money at optical or HDMI cables, expensive cables make literally no difference and anyone who tells you they do is an idiot or a liar...but I digress.
I tested the bluetooth feature with my phone and it paired and played music no issues.
If you're after a nice simple setup I really don't think you can go wrong for the money, even at full price.
Flawed product – I bought this unit for HDMI ARC functionality which just does not work. After hours of wasted troubleshooting and a replacement unit, Phillips have no answers except to say it is incompatible. The optical connection is also flawed with serious lip sync issues which the adjustment feature on the remote control cannot satisfactorily fix.
