Philips Jamie Oliver Blender HR2172/00

It is OK... but not the high standard you expect when someone endorses it – For me...it does blend and smash up anything i put inside (ice, almonds etc) so that's OK. However, from the very first time i have used it leaves a horrible residue on the base section when i take off the jug to pour out what I've blended. This happens every time...so I've got more cleaning! But now after 4 moths use of once a day to make my… Read more
morning smoothie, i can now smell the "motor burning smell" which i don't need to be an engineer to understand it is on it's way out. It was given to me as a Christmas present so i'm not really sure i can do anything about it now, unless Phillips can suggest something?
Broken twice after not even a year! – After using the product for about a month I was pretty happy with how it performed. But after a few more weeks I started to smell something funny after using. One day I then saw smoke coming from the motor. This has happened on both the products I have had. Considering I only use it to blend soft fruit and veg I am extremely disappointed! I wouldn't recommend.
Useless – Only used twice and put away never to see the light again. This product can't even blend a simple gravy. The blade just spins and the ingredients just sit around the bottom. Obviously JO didn't road test this product!

Usless – I have had this blender for about 12 months and have only used it twice - after using it the second time it was put in the back of the cabinet where it has stayed. Cannot understand such a high profile person could endorse such a "crock". Can't even do a simple smoothy - every thing you add just lays on the bottom of the blender and does everything but "Blend"

Not worth it! – I thought that being endorsed by J.O meant that it would be a reasonable product... I was wrong.. Twice! The original one died within a few months of purchase (it was only ever used for green smoothies) during a smoothie blend of frozen mango.. the mango all sank to the bottom, covered the blades and got dragged around thus burning out the motor.… Read more
It was replaced immediately by Target but the same thing happened with the replacement one after another 6 months.. In all, I got approximately 10 months of use from original purchase date.. Not what I call good value! I didn't bother getting a third! Easy clean Short life

This is useless. Sorry I bought it – This blender can't even cope with soft fruit let alone frozen. I bought it because I was happy with the food processor but this product does not do the job. My previous blender (a Breville) worked for years. I wonder whether Jamie Oliver has actually used one of these inferior products that bears his name! Easy to put jug on stand. It doesn't blend anything other than liquid.
Built only to blend – I have used this blender twice. First time was blending a hot soup mixture. It was fine. Now I have come to chop up cooked oranges for marmalade and the blades just spin around in the bottom of the mix and no coaxing with a wooden spoon will help. So now I have to cut up my oranges with a knife. It is now obvious that I have a "blender," and not… Read more
something that will chop. My fault I guess, but I thought I was buying something that did both of those things as did my old "sunbeam" blender/ chopper.
It's also a safety worry that the blades will spin and the whole thing work while the top is off. It blends liquids Will not chop
I agree. It doesn't really chop well at all. I've noticed that other blenders have the blades… Read more (+1 reply)
