I just finished the 4th treatments on my legs and I'm very happy with the results from this IPL! I was using a cheaper product from HappySkin and that device was literally melting every single-use. After receiving the 3rd IPL in substitution from them and having the same problem, I asked my money back and sent them back their product! I finally decided to invest some more money in a well-known brand like Philips and so far it's worth every single dollar I've spent! I bought it under the Christmas promotion on black Friday and they were super fast to give me back the $100! The phone app tool is a great way for someone like me to have everything under control and scheduled and I definitely can recommend the product!

I have been using the Lumea (with the app) for a few months now on my legs, I am quite surprised & happy with this product. Was very skeptical when I received this gift & honestly was not expecting it to work at all, but after the first treatment, I noticed the hairs on my legs took longer to grow back & were also not at course as usual. I have fair to medium skin tone with dark hairs. I will be honest, there was a few weeks when I thought that the Lumea wasn’t doing what it says, but then I noticed that it had been 4 weeks since I last shaved ...my legs!! It really does work!! I am happy only having to shave once a month, the growth of the hairs has slowed down dramatically & my legs stay smoother for longer. I was a bit worried what kind of sensation the Lumea would give, but it is overall a generally mild sensation. It did take me a few goes to get completely used to it & I would expect it will take some people a bit longer to get used to the sensation than others. To me it is like a getting quickly flicked with a rubber band followed by a warm sensation. Definitely start off on setting 1 or 2 & go from there. Does take considerably longer to treat than the recommended time from Philips. I also find if the Lumea stays on for too long it does seems to overheat, so I will do one leg or the bottom-half of both legs, turn it off & let it cool down for 30 mins or so then continue with the rest. Would recommend to try to stick to the schedule for optimal results. I have just finished my 7th treatment on my legs & I can happily say that it does work for me

I have been using this IPL machine on my underarms, arms, and legs for about 6 months following the phone app sessions. As someone who had to shave every other day, this IPL has been a complete gamechanger. I now have to shave once every 2-3 weeks, and even then the hair is sparse.
As it is an IPL, it does take around 3 sessions to notice significant difference. However after the first session I did notice that hair growth rate had decreased (i.e. could shave every 3rd day!).
I have also been using this on my SO's neck with the facial attachm...ent to get rid of unwanted beard areas. So far there has been a reduction of hair growth there too. Some cons: - For bendy, bony areas such as knees and ankles you have to hold the device a bit awkwardly and your hand can cramp. - Need to remember where you have covered or else you could end up with weird strips/patches of hair here and there. - Expect to take double the estimated times that Philips says to IPL until you get used to it. For reference my skin colour is light and hair is black. I've been using the device with the phone application.

So glad I bought this, I read a lot of reviews on it but still wasn't convinced. I've had it for a few months now and it was advised to use once every fortnight but I've used it once a week. Really happy with the results though, after the first 3-4 uses I noticed the hair started getting thinner and slower growing and now I only have to shave once a week (right before I do the treatment) instead of daily!
I was a sceptic, but I’m pleasantly surprised!
I bought this device knowing in the back of my head there was a cash back return policy as I was dubious it would work having seen reviews of other similar at home products. I have had laser done years ago and 6 sessions didn’t remove much of my hair because I am quite fair, but I thought by buying my own IPL I could at least do it more regularly and so might get an OK result eventually. I’m 4 sessions in, I have pale skin and dark blonde/light brown hair (so not ‘ideal’ at all for laser) and my underarm hair hasn’t grown back since the last se...ssion two weeks ago, and I’m seeing a reduction (but not yet close to full removal) of my bikini line hair but I imagine in 3 or 4 more treatments it may all be gone. I also did my husbands shoulder/neck hair (black hair on pale skin) and it is basically gone after only 2 sessions with only a few stray hairs left. There’s no doubt it’s not as strong as commercial lasers, but if your hair is the right colour then this is way more convenient than attending a salon. The $100 cash back was also a great deal and I had it in my account two weeks later. All in all I’m pretty happy with the result and think it’s a worthy purchase for the price.
Good product. Disappointing customer service!
I bought this product more than one month ago, as part of Philips Mother's Day AU$100 Cash Back promotion. I am still trying the product, with nothing to complaint so far (I still have to test for few weeks more to give a good review). My discontentment is with the poor customer service they provided me in regards to the promotion (which was the reason that lead me to buy the product in first place). I never received the promised Cash Back from Philips. Last contact was 12/05/19, when they said that the cash back was approved, and that I should...received an email within 7 days confirming the payment. However, I never received neither the email nor the money. I have been trying contact since then unsuccessfully. I am very disappointed. I imagine how difficult must be to get the "Philips Beauty 90 Day Money Back Guarantee" deal.
I purchased this model three months ago and have had no trouble with its operability. After relatively lengthy use at level 5 it can overheat and need a couple of minutes to cool off, but otherwise it has worked faultlessly. The cord length is generous and the machine design makes it comfortable to hold. After three treatments I was pleasantly surprised to discover a noticeable reduction in hair growth. I've found that for best results I've needed to apply treatments over more weeks than the instructions imply, but am very happy to have achieved smooth almost hair free skin, painlessly. Great investment considering the ongoing cost of waxing or shaving.

After a heap of research I chose this IPL machine because
a) it has 5-10 years worth of flashes and no replacement cartridges necessary
b) It has both a large and small window, for large areas like legs and small/bumpy areas like upper lip/ underarms/ knees (as it needs to press fully on the skin to work this small window is necessary for these areas)
c) it has a continuous mode, hold the button down for a flash and slide it to the next spot (wait 1-2 seconds for flash to charge) and flashes automatically again

Absolutely fantastic. Exceeded my expectations
I was sceptical thus would work but after 4 weeks i have almost zero hair. It didnt happen immediately so i thought it wasnt doing much but after 3 sessions i can clearly see results. Mostly painless to use. Good control over level means it can be adjusted to suit tender areas. Easy to apply takes 5-10 minutes each time depending on area.

Questions & Answers
My device has just stopped working in the middle of my second time using it. All of the intensity lights are flashing at the same time, i have tried re-setting the device (turning it off, unplugging it, etc) and have tried letting it cool down for a while but whenever I turn it back on the lights begin flashing again. Is my device faulty?

All the lights are flashing when I switch it on. What does this mean? It also isn’t working.
Thank you for the question. If all the lights are flashing at the same time, your Lumea needs to be reset. To reset the device, switch it off and unplug the adapter from the mains. Then, plug it in and switch it on again. If this did not do the trick or if the lights are flashing alternately, please let us know. We hope this helps!
