Philips Shaver Series 3000

The product is made using such a specific charing import that is almost impossible to find in stores. If the charger breaks then the eraser is basically a brick. Doesn't follow USB C regulations.
The perfect shave from an electric shaver – I bought this shaver to replace my tired old Philips shaver. I have been using it for 6 weeks on a daily basis & every shave is so close & smooth. There are no rashes or rough skin afterwards, just soft, smooth skin. Battery life is excellent & clean up is simple. Yet to use it wet as I like a dry shave. The only down side is the trimmer. It seems to run so slowly that it pulls. If Philips can sort that out, it would be even better! Show reply
broken plastic pivot connection point in blade holder) – Used this product 7 times and then failure occurred of the pivot connection point in blade holder. One side of blade holder plastic pivot point which holds one of the 3 blades broke. Bad design fault. Have my old 1000 model for 8 years without a hitch on standby now. Should not have changed the design of heads (surface area is now smaller as well). Wont buy another shaver till fault is fixed. Show details

Poor performance – Replaced an AT891 shaver (only because of broken plastic blade holder). Series 3000 runs much slower than AT891 and does not cut satisfactorily. Philips contact is only by phone even though product is registered for warranty so it seems Philips discriminate against hearing impaired. Cannot recommend this shaver. and received a response to say that the shaver must be dirty (despite being brand new) and that I should find out how clean it. I have had Philips shavers for over 50 years so I think that I have some experience in caring for them and what to expect from them. I advised Philips of that but received no further response. Philips is not the company it once was.

Not a major improvement to previous generations – After having a Philips AT890 for 4 years on its original blades, I was disappointed with this model. Shaves as close as the AT890 with 4 year old blades and takes longer. Motor seems to be impacted more when all 3 blades cutting into initial swipe of stubble by slowing down slightly compared to the stronger AT890. Have to be careful taking off the… Read more
blade cover as the clip holding the flip-top to access the shavings is weaker. Not uncommon to end up spilling stubble all over vanity basin just by trying to take the blade cover off. While I wasn't necessarily expecting the nice zip up protective pouch that the AT890 come with, pretty stingy not to at least include a cleaning brush! Only thing addressed with new model is less likely to accidentally push the on/off button while in use. Bought in post Xmas sales. Would have been quite annoyed if paid RRP. I don't think this one will be lasting the distance of the old one.
