Terrible!! NOT usable!! – Same problem as last reviewer, too much static. I tried them on 2 different TV's both as bad. You need to be directly in front of transmitter, a real hassle. Even in front of transmitter if you move your head its goes bad. Even if you get it right, it goes to static after an hour or so. The box says effective transmission range 7 metres? They are really crap for a philips product

I am going to ask applianceonline.com to take them back as they are unusable.

A lot of static except for being directly in front of the IR sensor – A nice comfortable pair of headphones and the replaceable rechargeable AAA batteries are a good and convenient feature. I tried the receiver plugged directly into my TV and then my stereo and an unacceptable amount of static can be heard through the headphones. To get rid of the static you need to sit directly in front of the receiver without moving. The static wasn't that noticeable if you were listening to music, but listing to the radio or TV proved annoying. In my opinion, this makes the headphones unusable for the purpose that I bought them.

Swapping the head phones for another set didn't fix the problem. Comfortable, replaceable rechargeable batteries. An unacceptable amount of static despite being within the range of the receiver.
