Disappointing quality – Purchased a new set of these wireless earphones after two previous sets died after a couple of years. Although not 'high-tech' these headphones are affordable and work quite well until the sound becomes fuzzy and the ear pads get too grubby. To my utter regret I find that this new set does not work at all. Tried everything but sadly no go. In my… Read more
opinion this warrants a free replacement but dealer is not amenable to that request. Might have to search for an alternative.
Phillips SHC5200 WIRELESS TV HEADPHONES – Headphones are excellent great sound & very comfortable. However can't change the cushions when they wear out. Show details
Do not buy these headphones !! – I'm going to start this review by doing something I have not done before, and that is to cross reference two of my reviews. I do so for the benefit of anyone who finds themselves in the same or similar situation as myself. Recently I reviewed the LG 55NAN075 television. In this review I explained how it was not possible to connect a pair of… Read more
Bluetooth headphones (or other Bluetooth device) and sound bar or home theatre system at the same time with this TV. This left me having to find another solution to my hearing deficit, as I already had an expensive pair of Bluetooth headphones before I bought the TV. For the benefit of others in the room, I want to have the home theatre system working so they too enjoy the movies. There were just two options for me, buy a pair of RF phones with an optical input, or buy the old fashioned type which has the RCA (red/white) connectors. There is a huge difference in price between the two, so after doing the sums, I realized it was a lot cheaper to buy a digital to analogue converter (D/A) and the older style of headphones. The D/A converter was $50 at Harvey Norman, and I got the Philips headphones for $119 at the same place. A total of $169 versus $350 plus for the ones with the optical input. We will always pay more for newer technology (even if it's not real new anymore). I believe in shopping locally if possible, and there is some risk to buying online. I have been scammed more than once. So now with the introduction done, it's time to tell you about the Philips SHC5200 headphones. Firstly, they work well with my new tele, so hooray for that. I can now watch Netflix and determine my own volume level. As I expected, I can also turn the home theatre system right down to zero and listen to a movie on the Philips headphones alone, which at times is just what's required. The phones sit comfortably on the ears and have a padded self adjusting band to set their position on your head. The volume control wheel is easy to navigate with your finger while watching TV, and does the job very well. I would say the volume increase and decreases are linear which is what you want. The phones are not heavy so with extended listening they should not become uncomfortable. The sound is very clear and crisp, but if their claim of a frequency range of 10 - 21,000 Hz is even close, that is to be expected. The setup is easy with no "downloads" or "QR" codes to worry about. Basically connect two cables and you're on your way. An AC/DC power adapter is supplied and there are two cables already permanently connected to the transmitter which is a small circular disc and sits unobtrusively on the TV cabinet. It has the red and white connectors and a cable to connect the phones to charge the batteries. There is only one issue at this point in time, and that is that the rechargeable batteries are special "Philips" branded batteries, with a shorter "sleeve". This simply means that no other AAA rechargeable batteries will work. They do state that normal alkaline batteries can be used in lieu, but that's quite an ongoing expense, particularly if you use the phones a lot. In conclusion, a very good set of headphones which deliver a clean crisp sound at a level of volume which is more than adequate. They, in combination with the D/A converter are a fairly inexpensive solution for someone wanting to overcome the limitations of that particular LG television. Netflix got many of us through Covid didn't it! 24/06/2022 A very important update, the batteries which came with my unit are no good (if you leave rechargeable batteries in a flat condition for a long time, it kills them) AND I have it on very good advice that new batteries are now totally unavailable. I have just spoken to the ex Customer Care Manager for Australia and N.Z who told me Philips just folded and he and a lot of people around the world were left with no job, and owed a lot of money. Please disregard all I have said above, and DON'T buy any Philips branded headphones. This person told me they only deal with medical equipment now, and definitely not headphones.
Terrible sound – I bought these headphones so I could watch tv late at night without disturbing anyone else. It boasts dynamic cinematic sound but all I’m getting is a droning hum in the background and a dull but raspy speech and sound which I can liken to a radio that is not tuned into the station properly. Hard to listen to. Not worth anywhere near what I paid for them and wouldn’t recommend them.
Terrible audio quality – Based on other reviews, I had high hopes for these headphones. They are affordable and lightweight, but that's all that's good about them. The audio quality is terrible. There is persistent and quite noticeable static, even when within a metre of the base station. The static only got worse as I turned the volume up. It comes with two channels, but neither offered acceptable results. I'm initiating a refund with Dick Smith. Show details
perfect to watch apple TV without disturbing your partner – my partner was always complaining when i was watching TV during nap time. anyway i thought buy the wireless headphones and was a little sceptic. anyway the sound is good and now i can watch TV during nap time without disturbing anyone. Price is great and quality amazing. was able to convince my dad to buy the same for himself :) Show details · 1
Excellent Sound – Really good, clear sound and I use them for music mostly. They are fairly light, with reasonable adjustability. Battery time is OK, although not brilliant. Same comment for the recharge time, takes about an hour which is Ok. Overall they are every decent for the price and if the battery was a bit better I would rate them 5 stars. Show details · 1
Loved the product – I have purchased this product an year ago in jb hi fi. I have connected to my tv. I used it wirelessly. This is very much useful when my kid is sleeping, I can watch my tv and can listen songs when I am in another room as well. Just loved it Show details · 1
Light Weight and Good Sound – I use this one as my gaming headphone and it works all fine. The weight is pretty good for long time use, however, may be a little bit hot when using in summer. The sound quality is OK considering the price which is not very high and very affordable after all. Show details · 1
Ok! Not that great! Sound quality is good but bluetooh sucks a bit – Long battery life and good sound quality but when walking if you are around traffic signals, this headphone's sound starts flickering and skipping music because of bluetooth interference. The battery charges quite fast and last really long I must say. It's tough quality as well so rough handling isn't a problem Show details

Amazing headphones – Crystal clear sounding headphones. I use them mainly for listening to my music on my Iphone. The quality is top notch and have had no trouble with them at all. Very comfortable to wear also. They are my first pair of wireless headphones and I won't go back to wierd again, so much easier with no static. Charging is easy and usually fully charges within an hour and the battery is quite good. Love them :) Show details · 1
Comfortable wireless headphones – Crystal clear sound, good battery life, easy installation. I use this Philips headphones seamlessly between my laptop, iPhone and Galaxy phones without a glitch. Wireless = no cables, no hassles. Only need to charge once a month, and battery fully charges in an hour. Works well for games, music and movies. Amazing product. Show details · 1
Great quality – Found a really good offer on eBay and would buy it again: Famous Philips quality, good sound, decent battery life, great range, light-weight, etc. I had other brands (incl. Medion) in the past but strongly believe that Philips equals best possible value for money when it comes to wireless headphones. Show details

Great price and decent sound – You see these always lying around JB, and often for quite a cheap price. I picked one up a couple of months ago just cause I really hated the in ear earphones of my Samsung mobile phone. The sounds is good, have good base, but maybe lack a little on the treble. But at around $20-30, what more can you ask. Show details · 1
Awesome quality! – I've always been a fan of Philips headphones because of their quality. Apart from sound quality produced by this product and its durable design, I'm particularly fond of its wireless feature. It allows me to move around my work desk without worrying about the wire snagging on something and jerking the headphones off my head. Totally worth the money and would definitely recommend this to friends. Show details · 1
Of very good quality!!!!!! – Since I've bought this, my life has literally been complete! The sound is great and very clear, and since it's wireless, I don't need to worry about the static noises when I plug headphones with wire into my tablet's jack hole. The battery lasts for a surprisingly long time. Overall best set of headphones I've ever gotten and I've never, even once, regretted my choice. Show details · 1
Very good Product – I love the headphones for the noise cancelling feature. I purchased a pair and it works well when we need to use this whilst my bub is in bed and must not be disturbed. We have never had any issues with this product. Its worth the money. I just need to ensure to keep charging it everytime the batteries go down. Show details · 1
Great if your looking for an all rounder – If you are looking for an all rounder headphones then i highly suggest you consider this product as i have personally tried it and it works very nicely for general listening. I am generally a massive music person but i do enjoy listening to some tunes once in a while and these headphones work great in that respect. Show details
Fantastic product! – The noise-cancelling feature is phenomenal - you can really notice the difference! The sound quality is great, especially with BlueTooth. The battery lasts really long as well, so you only need to charge it every so often. I was hesitant at first to spend the money, but I'm so glad I did. Show details · 1
good quality – I bought it last year for world cop. it works very well. the sound quality is good enough to watch movies or play games if you do not bother others. its range is fantastic. I can go all around the house even toilet without any interruption. it worth buy and has value for money. Show details · 1
Great sound – Real easy to set up great sound with a low price would highly recommend. I bought an adapter for my TV so I can hear the sound via wireless as my TV wasn't Bluetooth ready. Charges real fast. There was a sale in JBFI $30 off. You won't be disappointed. Show details · 1
Sound cuts out – Easy to set up, good sound quality and comfortable. Unfortunately they cut out after 2 minutes or so which makes them pretty much useless on my LG LE5510 TV. I tried turning the TV volume to max and changed from channel 1 to 2 on the transmitter and headphones but no luck. Show details

Love it – It has everything you want in headphones. They are cordless so that would be a plus point as i do not have to worry about tangled cables anymore. Sound quality is very amazing. Just one problem is that they have to be charged very often. Other than that, they are must haves. I'd recommend these headphones. Show details · 1
PRETTY DAM GOOD – The earphones I have to say r pretty awesome. Great sound and fantastic while doing a work out. My husbans found them to be pretty amazing as well. Would recommend to anyone wanting to buy a decent pair instead of spending an arm and a leg on earphones. Bloody great. Show details · 1
So good, I bought a pair as a present – I bought my first pair of these headphones appx 8 years ago. They are still working perfectly. I've never had to change the batteries, long range and VERY comfortable. I wear mine every night as I live with someone who goes to bed very early, so they are in constant use. The biggest problem is adjusting the volume of the TV to stop the static. In… Read more · 3
other words, No problems at all. I bought a second pair for my TV in the bedroom and a third pair as a present. They love them too and commented on just how comfortable they are without me prompting. I know someone who purchased the next model up and they were terrible. Stick to the older brand and you'll be very happy.
Best thing since sliced bread – What can I say? Lightweight, well padded, comfortable, easily adjustable, Cordless, fantastic surround sounding, great for blocking out other noises, however, I hate that they have to be recharged so that the kids can't wear them all the time with their laptops and tablets and I have to listen to their music and movies. The magic head phones – After 11years my Sony headphones gave up the ghost. I was worried I would not be able to find ones that would suit me. I bought Phillips headphones that looked huge but are very comfortable to wear, more so than the previous headphones. I am elderly and very deaf. I wear hearing aids during the day but cannot take them out fast enough by night… Read more · 1
time because they are not very comfortable. I cannot do without the headphones
because I would have to turn up the sound on the t.v. a lot. I cannot do that because I live in an apartment block and don't want to disturb the neighbours. Much to my surprise they are light as feather and do not wreck my hair what's more I can wander into the kitchen area or the bathroom to clean my teeth and still follow the news or the story line of a film. I could not do that with the old ones. I am truly delighted with my purchase.
An essential if you travel by public transport – I travel 1 hour by train - twice a day. Many times you have to stand. I can safely put my phone in my bag - without worrying if the cord is long enough if you put your bag down. The freedom is incredible. I garden with them. I clean with them - best Chrissy present ever Show details · 1
Good performance, good value for money – Impressed by the quality and performance and am very satisfied with this product, I needed to get an adapter for the small jack plug as I did not want to use the headset audio output jack socket on my TV as this cuts the audio for other watchers. Very comfortable on the ears , Show details · 1
Comfortable but poor sounding headphones – Having been impressed with the quality of corded Phillips headphones, I thought i'd give these FM wireless ones a try. While out of the box they look nice, and are comfortable to wear, sadly they have far too much background noise to be my first choice for music or television. Overall if you can get them for a decent price and don't really mind… Read more
about sound quality, these will do the job fine, however I would be looking elsewhere if you want something halfway decent.
