Did we get a dud one? – Maneuver - fine, good swivel, pointy end for corners. Amount of water held - fine, didn't run out too soon. Price - probably too cheap, I think it was around $50 from Kmart or Big W. Issues - it seemed to run a lot of water. The steam was certainly big but it left big streaks of water behind which took ages to dry. My partner would end up… Read more
steaming the floor, then going back over the area with a regular mop just to ensure it would dry. We do quite a bit of stir fry and there gets to be a build up of oil splatters on the floor. Despite commercial strength floor cleaner, I was getting better results scrubbing with a tea towel than I was getting using hot steam. Finally, after 1/2 a year of infrequent use there was a lot of bubbling noise and steam would be stop and go. Finally it just packed it up one day. We took it apart but couldn't figure out any way to fix it and have thrown it out. We probably owned it for a little over a year.
Too much water and not enough steam! – I was given one for a wedding present and only just started using it, quick to heat up which is great but the problem is, too much water left on the tiles which means I have to go over the area with a towel to get rid of the water marks. Thats got to be annoying. Steam mops are only suppose to be dry steam aint it? Not water marks left behind. … Read more
Good water tank, wish it would only steam coming out.
If you don't mind the water marks then this product is for you.
Good for larger areas – Purchased from kmart for about $59. This Vapori has a larger water tank which is good for big areas. Once you turn it on the steam comes out almost immediately which is good because you dont have to wait very long compared to a steam mop i had a while ago. The pad is thin terry-towelling fabric but has a draw string that fits around the base which… Read more
is good because some of the other seam mops have a pad with velcro tend to fall off mid mop, but it doesnt happen with this mop. I have dark grey polished porcelain tiles which are a nightmare - I would never recommend anyone put these in your home! I mop my floors first because i have a dog, then use the steam mop. Having the floors clean first means when you use the steam mop, your pad stays cleaner for longer, then i mop again afterwards because that is what you have to do with these nightmare tiles. I use the steam mop every so often as it gets the stains and marks off that my normal mop doesnt, but polished porcelain tiles will never ever be perfect. The mop is mostly made out of plastic but it seems to work just fine. The electrical cord is a good length but i need an extension cord anyway for doing larger areas. The pole is steal and you can adjust the height. Has an on and off button on the handle. It doesnt come with a pad to sit on while it is first turned on, but i just put it on a folded up towel to protect the floor. I am pretty happy with this purchase, especially for the price, it heats really quickly, works fine and that it has a larger water tank so i can steam mop for a long time before topping up the water.
